I have been using this app for the last 8 years and have made countless bookings through them. After my last experience, I will no longer support their awful business. Their customer service is a joke and they offer apartments on their website that lie about their services. I was ripped off by one of their offers and they did absolutely nothing to support me. I spent countless hours emailing and calling trying to get my money back. The cherry on top was when they did not post my honest review of the shady apartment and could not give me an explanation as to why it was not posted! I will be telling everyone to not use them and their shady owner, Booking.com. I am now a customer of hotels.com.
I made a booking, with the understanding that I could cancel up to 31 days in advance of arrival. The agoda site I used indicated that there would be a "25% charge if cancelled up to 31 days prior to arrival." Most individuals would read this to mean within the 31 day timeframe, not at any time after booking. I booked to hold a room while exploring air travel arrangements, which in the end didn't work out. I cancelled within 12 hours of initial booking, 37 days prior to arrival, and had my credit card charged for 600+ dollars. This is a really unfair practice! The language is completely misleading and such customer service unethical and bordering on fraudulent. You should not say "up to 31 days" - you should be indicating that there is a cancellation fee for ALL bookings! I am a well educated individual and from my perspective this is a scam on the part of Agoda!. I hope other travellers will not be misled by this practice.
Agoda would provide wrong info of the listings. Don't ever pay through their portal even if you are placing a booking. Go to the property and check it out and verify before paying. Apparently most of the listings are procured through third party portals and manipulated by Agoda.

That's called Business Fraud and as a customer I can't do anything about it. Apparently Agoda can alter the price that you agreed to book at to have a advantage on refund amounts. You have been warned.

I had a bad experience with Agoda... unlike booking.com or MMT... which promptly clear the dues in time after guests check-in is done... in case of Agoda... you need to run... with no. Of email. Reminders... after loosing a due for 5-day checkin of a guest.i cancelled out from Agoda... be careful with this company. Seems all china based employees.

In the last 3 years, I travelled out of country for 50% of my time. I use Agoda whenever possible. You truly measure up to their best price guarantee promise and whenever I submitted a lower price claim, they always refund.
I have made a few mistakes on my years of bookings with them (eg. Wrong date, Visa problem, etc) and they always promptly help me to resolve those issue with the hotels.
With our support, I believe we can empower Agoda to have a better negotiation power with the hotel and protect our interest.

As hotel owner I'll like to say that Agoda is the best website you can use, they manage payment and guarantee you to don't lost any money if the customer braking the cancellation rules. Got a awesome customer service that reply you (and the customers) in a few hours round the clock, no matter at what time you write them they will answers your. All the customer servicemen are speaking English and many speaking other languages. It is absolutely the best
Agoda would not let me cancel a hotel reservation within the allotted time online or after waiting over 75 minutes I got disconnected from them. They charged my credit card. I reported them to my credit card company and the better business bureau who both said this company is known for this. They are incompetent and are stealing money. Despicable
They offered a hotel, let us enter card details, gave us a booking confirmation number and instead of a confirmation email I got a cancellation email. This meant that we missed out on other rooms that were then booked up. This is not acceptable and has left me more than cheesed off! If I could give 0 stars I would!
I have sent agoda four emails regarding paying them more than my receipt obtained at check out at our hotel. No one will respond. I will never recommend or use this booking site again, not only for their poor customer service but no where does it say that I am paying more than my actual receipt from the hotel itself.
I checked many top sites for good deals on one particular hotel I liked. I have to admit it was a eye opener for me because this was better than the best available quotes. The navigation is also easy. If you are a member you get an insider deal which was a surprise bonus. One last thing for this booking got pay later option which was good.
Overall very happy.

The hotels look nowhere close to how they look in the pictures and it always shows last 2 or last 3 rooms available but when you actually check into the hotel you'll be surprised to know you are the only soul there in that God forsaken place.
I received a new credit card and tried to update my number with them for payment. Before I could enter my info the session expired and would not let me continue. No one ever answers their phone or emails and the proceeded to cancel my reservation 3 days before we were to fly out!
Agoda's pricing system and price-breakdown is not that trustworthy. Although they do provide cheap prices, their Customer Support is much cheaper!
Stay away from Agoda and you will book for good experience not Disappointment and Upset!
I booked a room with Agoda in January 2023 in Bali. While I didn't get ripped off like most customers who have reviewed the site, I can say that you really cannot rely on the reviews of the hotels they advertise. They screen the bad ones out in order to sell their rooms. I wrote a very bad review of the room and it was never published. Their policy states that they publish real and true reviews. I beg to differ and believe that this is not very honest marketing. Do not use this site. You are setting yourself up for a disappointment.
I booked with Agoda on June 2,2022 after seeing an offer for a stay at Mont Airy lodge for approx $369.00 for a two night stay. After I put my credit card information in to their system to book the room I received a confirmation at the rate of $666.79. That was not the rate I agree to, so I cancelled my booking within minutes after booking it. Agoda now refuses to give me a refund and I am stuck with a large bill for a trip I never took. Do Not Let 'This Happen To You. Stay away from this company. They will Steal your money.
Booking was confirmed but property management not delivered me room on booking date and time. When I went to hotel but hotel management said we have not received any booking on your name. I called c.c. But nothing happened only amount refunded but my time, my money, my prestige lost. C.C. Was shouting on me when I asked justice for the same. Don't use for hotel bookings Agoda. Their management without taking confirmation from property management giving you rooms.
Travelling by using Agoda is a great idea. It's user friendly. Prices are clear and you can get discounts if you are lucky. Also, tourist sites can be found. People share their experience and review. So it's easy to get the real thing here.

Answer: For me as well very bad experience with this site. The administrator failed to confirm my booking in the evening, claiming they could not see it in their system and stating that the reserved room was unavailable, despite all the correct booking information being provided. Instead, they offered me a different room. At 10 PM on December 31st, traveling with a child, I had no choice but to agree and pay again for the alternative room. I immediately reported the issue to Agoda for assistance. The room we were given was in an unacceptable condition: it was dirty, there were holes in the bathroom walls, and mold was visible. It was nowhere near the standard described in the booking. The following morning, a different administrator located my original booking and refunded the payment for the additional room. However, they falsely claimed that I had stayed in the room I originally booked. This is not true—the room I stayed in differed significantly from the description and photos provided at the time of booking. Despite providing all necessary evidence, Agoda has refused to support my complaint, stating that the hotel confirmed my booking, which does not address the poor service, the forced additional payment, or the unacceptable condition of the room. This experience demonstrates an appalling lack of customer care from both the hotel and Agoda. As a customer, I feel my rights were ignored, and no proper resolution was provided. I expect Agoda to take accountability and address this issue properly, as this level of service is completely unacceptable.
Answer: Well, you probably need to call the customer service online or send them email from Agoda to get a reply. I feel that it was in vain to look for any help or compensation once your reservation has been done. Even the you overlooked some tricky information, Agoda will completely ignore what you said and push the blame to the hotel/property or the users. That is how I feel after trying so sort our the issue. Once a mistake is made, we probably can only eat it. Never expect they will admit any misinformation on line.
