WOW! These folks ARE NOT about customer service…only about taking your money. Will be looking for another hardware store. The Ace in Winder is TOTALLY MORE CUSTOMER SERVICE ORIENTED…worth the drive for a pleasant experience.
On Jan -03-2023 around 10:15am, I came into Ace Hardware store located on 122nd and Powell with a question for one of the cashier. She was so racist and gave me a very bad attitude when I have a question on the product that I couldn't find. I can not understand why Ace Hardware still tolerate this kind of employee's attitude. I will never come to Ace Hardware again.
I went to the gulf shores which would not aloud essential emergencies items to be returned. New unused
Bought what I thought was Delta washers at five dollars and after receiving attitude from the bandit running the register, it was not five dollars, when I got home it was ten dollars for a two dollar part, I received my ten dollar education at Ace hardware, this is a case of bait and switch, Vermillion, SD ******* BEWARE! That is not ten dollars worth of parts, maybe $1.89
Finally Received My Ace Reward Discounts In the Mail. Go to use them and They Are Not Valid Online. Go To Store, and They Say Brand Name Items Are not Included. SO after I spent all this money I get Nothing. What a Waste OF time and Paper. Ace Please Save the paper and quit lying and telling the consumer you receive discounts in the mail. Or Take lessons From Tractor Supply, They do not care what you spend your points on Name Brand or not.
Bought a 3/8 toilet shutoff valve, charged me 16.11 with tax, went to put it on and noticed how cheaply it was made, felt light duty and could see the casting lines, made in China! Decided to hold off and went to Home Depot, found a BrassCraft, made in USA and a much nicer valve AND it was 5 dollars cheaper! ACE needs to get their act together, quit buying cheap Chinese junk and get their prices inline!
Very Professional, Willing to help customers and solve their issues, very fast and customer service Is the best. Look forward to coming back shopping at for Carmichael, Ca location.
Been an Ace Rewards member for several years. We have a wonderful small time Ace Hardware Store.
Ace Hardware Corporate Rewards IS WORTHLESS. They are very inconsistent mailing out coupons, and/or loading on you App. Initially got rewards monthly, that disappeared. Got only one coupon in 10 months. 3 days late, made a large purchase, with NO CREDT SHOWING UP!
If you are going to offer credits ACE HARDWARE do it CONSISTENTLY, as I came home, emailed Corporate Ace 3 times. ALL RESPONSES WERE VERY DISRESPECTFUL…. With NO consideration of my loyalty. This
Has been a very rough two years to buy products and get help using them.
With the negative/condescending replies I received, I am completely finished with your Program.
Our Ace Hardware Store is convenient and a great store. But I will move onto a locally owned hardware store, who has a consistent Reward Program!
I was recently at the La Puente Store wanted to ask some questions about a window bracket and the cashier directed me to aisle 14, buzzed another associate, however nobody around to assist. A younger gentleman approached me and asked if he could kindly assist me and he verbalized I need to get a call will come back to you later. Therefore I went towards the back of the store where it reads: Customer Service where I waited patiently for over 10-15 minutes, then a guy by the name of Michael came to the counter to assist me and he was not aware/clueless/inexperienced if you ask me! Immediately after an older rude (bald with glasses) employee came over and said what do you need told him I needed help with this broken bracket and continue to be rude with respect to his approach! Then after this so called manager on duty by the name of Mark came with his unprofessional attitude and I asked is this not the "customer service" counter where buying customers can ask questions, he said no this is only for screening! Everyone from Management, to staff are incompetent and worthless! Never again will I be going to this local hardware store to spend not even 1 penny! Best of luck to all!
Be careful what you buy at Ace. I went to buy a Craftsman remote for my garage door 64.99. Looked elsewhere Half the price at another store I won't mention the name
I was told to go somewhere else for warranty work after a 4 month old echo weed trimmer quit working the manager and owner told me to go down to another store
I drove around and went to 4+ retail Stores in. Less than 2 hours around Seattle and Renton Lowes, Home Depot and Fred Meyer, Dunns Lumber to get help on a Car Steering wheel CLUB lock. None of them afore-mentioned Big Box Stores' employees were helpful or seemed interested helping me with making extra keys, to make sure I don't risk having the last one.
Mr. Josh Reed and Drew Highland (of Ace Hardware Styore #4640 on Sunset NE in Renton WA)were the 2 young gentlemen who were there late approaching closing shift were so very nice, listened and solved my problem; in the process made me feel very appreciated and valued as a customer; rather feeling lost in. The sea of customers at big box stores especially during this Holidays.
I will definitely tell many friends, neighbors about this awesome rare experience. Please thank these town fine young man for me.

Just had the WORST, ever experience returning something I purchased. I went to the Woodmont Village Ace Hardware in Canton and tried to return an unused, unopened bundle of rope that I purchased a couple of weeks ago. The rope ended up costing way more than I expected, so I never used it for its intended purpose and decided to return it.
I had misplaced the receipt but figured I'd at least get store credit, since it was purchased on my credit card and giving them my phone # at the time. Cashier was rude and argumentative, basically accused me of either being a liar or a thief. "You didn't Buy this from us. We've only sold 1 in the last 2 months and that was too Mrs XXX"
I find it hilarious that they can look up and find the people that have purchased the same item but that they will not and cannot look up the purchase from my credit card.
After speaking with a manager, I got no help, just more of the same. They didn't try to correct it or look it up a different way... just "Ah, so sorry."
I support local small business and had visited this Ace Hardware about once a month... Never again will I purchase from Ace Hardware.
Cashier was terrible. Absolutely NO customer service. She should be stocking shelves, not waiting on customers. This is coming from a customer who spent 40 years as a customer service rep.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! DO NOT SHOP WITH THIS "BUSINESS"!
Worst professional experience in 30+ years! Delivered (3 days late, forcing use of first vacation day) 1/3 of several thousand dollar/several major appliance order. Still had us at end of day.
Refused to reschedule piece THEY SCHEDULED WITHOUT NOTICE OR PERMISSION FOR 4TH DAY LATE FORCING 2ND VACATION DAY AND INABILITY TO PREPARE FOOD unless we called a 2nd number (after business hours) because the first rep "doesn't do that."
Well, apparently none of their employees "do" much of anything including preparing, delivering, providing customer care, scheduling, communicating, etc!
AVOID! Use a payment method that will support you when you have to escalate!
*and they also still have a backorder fridge/freezer not due until, at least, Saturday. Ordered all this about a month ago... and is Saturday true? With all parts?
Ace Hardwares website is absolute awful compared to their competitors. It is not intuitive, the search function brings up every product except for the one I typed into the search bar (a type of paint).
Look Ace and every other business out there that has a website: it's 2023 the tech has been here basically 20 plus years. Why do you think a complicated website is what consumers are impressed by? Nobody wants a slow website with multiple subpages, and here's another pro tip: when designing your online platform make it simple, easy, and smartphone friendly, get with the times nobody is using a desktop, everybody uses their smartphone, tailor your website to smart phones and make it efficient! It's almost as if these companies think that by making a complicated website it will impress people, no it doesn't.
I'm in the middle of a complete home remodel and my budget is more than a lot of people make in a year, Ace you lost my business over a garbage website, I'll drive 5 times as far to go to a competitor because I can quickly determine what is in stock on their more efficient website.
Searched for cat food and the results displayed dog food cans poison paint and everything except cat food! Total waste of my time! Just imagine the help you would get in store!
The app does not work and support is lousy!
Removing and reloading does nothing - total garbage! The local store can not help you must deal with phone support and they are of no use
Don't honor returns, been charged before on returns, very disorganized and the crew is very argumentative and never has their stuff together
I purchased a chainsaw in the Trenton Florida store December 21,2023. Friday evening just filled the Saw
With gas and bar oil and started cutting for five minutes. The chain came off, bent the bar and five links in the chain. I called the store told them what happened. They said I could bring it in Saturday morning. The chainsaw mechanic wasn't there, but they had someone that could look at it. When I took it in Saturday morning, He took it into the back, took it apart, and then called me back said it look like a defective bar that it had bent links in the chain he checked the gas and oil said it was full. When the chainsaw mechanic looked at it he lied and said there was no bar oil in the the saw. And that I needed to talk to the manager. When I talk to the manager, he said there was no bar oil in the saw. They could honor the warranty. He seem to think it was a joke. He said they filed down to chain links and straighten the bar that it was fine. I will never go back to that store again. I would think twice about buying a chainsaw there.
Bill.
Answer: I purchased a quite expensive electric yard tool from ACE, got it home and it would not even assemble properly. That was a problem with the manufacturer, which is Black & Decker, not the hardware store. I try to avoid Black & Decker because of similar problems with their products in the past; the reason I bought this tools was because my wife wanted to use it and has not had any problems with Black & Decker products so I got it home thinking to make my wife happy with the tool. The tool is a string trimmer and it was not possible to install the guard at the bottom of the shaft. Perhaps a hammer would have helped but I don't like having to hammer a brand new tool together to make it work. Ace promptly refunded my money on that one. Another time I purchased an Ego yard tool and got it home and decided it was not what I need so I took it back and my money was right away refunded.
Answer: I am just a customer. I have never bought any gift cards and so have no idea why Ace is not responding properly.
Answer: There may be, I buy things from various sources depending on where I am and so on. In bigger cities there are most likely more competitors than here in this relatively small city. Nonetheless, here, ACE is excellent as far as I am concerned.
