The employees are always helpful at our local ACE Hardware here in Miami, OK. This store is a bit smaller than the one I used to shop at in Paradise, CA. But similar in that both have a big inventory and very helpful people working there. Even though the store here in Miami may be smaller than the one in Paradise it seems to have everything I need including electric power tools from top rated manufacturers. This is a highly recommended business, at least by me.

I want to be clear, this review is only for online shopping at the Ace website. I love my local Ace stores but online shopping is horrid. I had $20 to spend in rewards that were expiring at the end of the day. I didn't have a lot of time to drive to the store so I decided to use them for online shopping. Battling with the checkout system got me the most frustrated I have been in a long long time. There is a button to add a shipping address. I went to add one. It wouldn't take. After several tries I modified the old address they had on file even though I wanted to keep that one. That worked. However, my billing address is different. I tried to add a new billing address. Same problem, so after several tries again, I just had to modify the one that was there. But it turns out if you modify the billing address OR the shipping address, they also modify the other one. After fidgeting with this for nearly an hour, I gave up and decided to just have it shipped to my billing address (my Mom's house which is a 4 hour drive away). Then I entered my credit card. It gave me an error. I tried again and again, with multiple cards. It wouldn't accept any of them. I tried with a VISA debit too. No go. I promise you, my cards are all good and active. After two hours of fighting with the website just to buy one simple heater to use my $20 rewards, the brick and mortar store in town had closed for the day. I had to give up and my rewards expired. I will never shop at acehardware.com again.

I travelled the whole of Dubai looking for lido for swimming pool which are called here floating beds. The lady at ACE called Gurlia was amazing she straight away she found me what I was looking for, take note you can only find at ACE. Not at carrefour or ikea which I was first told. So don't waste your time... o straight to ACE.

They are a scam! Buyer beware bait and switch practice and refuse pick up return. Showed proof of wrong product delivered but they are useless and pass you around for days. Horrible and scary they are in business.

Rude cashier

After a fairly big purchase I was interested in how the reward program worked. The cashier just said the store had nothing to do with it? I lost all respect for my local store in Pottsville pa. She was so rude. The customers in line saw this. A simple question all I wanted was information. Going back to Lowes

Never under any circumstances purchase anything from this corporation's website. I bought a Toro Mower a week ago (order #*******) and, according to the information on their website, it was supposed to arrive at the local store on Friday. When I called the local store, they said they had no information and the truck with equipment sent from the warehouse was expected on Saturday. On Saturday, my order was not in the truck, and the local store said they knew nothing and couldn't help me. I called website customer service and was surprised to learn that they hadn't even attempted to ship my order and didn't know why this was happening. After my request to connect me with a supervisor, I waited 15 minutes only to find out that there are no supervisors on Saturdays. I have never in my life encountered a more inadequate and unreliable interface than this company's. The site doesn't load, there are endless errors, and it took 30-40 minutes just to place any order. Customer support has no idea about orders and can't even provide current information, let alone address more serious issues. The existing model of relationships with independent stores is obviously unsustainable, and I wouldn't be surprised if they go bankrupt. At the very least, the huge number of people complaining about their work even here will be spared from problems with a corporation that doesn't value its customers.

Online store sucks

My local Ace Hardware is a wonderful store. But I couldn't get into the store in time for a sale, so I looked to see if Ace had an online store. AceHardware.com was the worst experience ever. The site wouldn't take my coupon so I contacted their support person who told me to place the order and she would have the company reimburse me when the order shipped. Guess what? Two follow up calls later, the online site still would not reimburse me. Plus you don't get to speak to the person who denies you, just the phone rep who pretty much knows nothing. Avoid at all costs!

I went to Garden street Ace Titusville FL.to return a Craftsman screwdriver with a lifetime warranty. I found a #2 Phillips same as the one I had. The manager said mine was clear and faded from use his was clear blue.The idiot said he could not exchange it. So much for Craftsman lifetime warranty at Ace

I use to order my little shopping cart wheels at ace hardware but no more. I went into ace hardware to get me a reasonable lawn mower. But no. All they have are lawn mowers at or above 600 dollars. No one needs a lawn mower that expensive

Online Order Fiasco
March 20, 2020

I ordered site-to-store, and it took 11 days, 2 trips, and countless phone calls to get my items. I got an email that my order was ready, so I went to the store, waited 15 minutes for them to bring the wrong order, waited 15 more minutes for them to get the correct order, but only half was ready. Waste of a trip. Was told the rest would be ready Wednesday and they would call me. No call. Called myself, they were still apparently unloading the truck and told me to call tomorrow. So frustrating. Told corporate of my experience and they didn't care. They don't seem to be interested in feedback or improving their company. Don't order online from them!

The brand of shredded hardwood bark that Ace carried for the last few years was from Kamlar corporation. I loved this mulch so much that I called the company about it. It was truly fine shredded hardwood bark and it spread easily on my gardens. Ace has switched to Timberline hardwood mulch. It's not mulch. It looks like someone just put it through a wood chipper. Lots of very large pieces and chunks. Only has about 2/3 the coverage of Kamlar. This means I'm going to pay more for it by about 60% because it is also more expensive. I have a small lavender farm as well as home gardens. Where is a savings and enjoyment in my gardens? Not here any more.

Avoid ordering online!
September 2, 2023

I bought 3 bags of field marker and had them shipped to my home. 1 arrived and the other 2 were damaged at FEDEX. ACE told me it was my problem. ACE finally agreed to ship the other 2 and I got 1 of them. ACE told me FEDEX said there was a labelling problem and the other bag was returned to ACE. My last bag was shipped and never came. I then got an email from ACE saying that per their customer service policy, as soon as ACE ships it, any lost or undelivered items are entirely MY problem. I finally just got a refund on the last bag and gave up. I will NEVER patronize a business that won't promise to deliver an item that is bought online after charging the customer for the item and shipping. If I buy an item online and am charged for shipping too, that is a contract to deliver it to me. If it does not arrive, how is it my problem? I will go to Amazon. The '1 Star' rating is still 1 Star too many.

Outragious prices

I've been going to our local Ace Hardware to support the business here in town. In the past few weeks, I've noticed a huge increase in their prices. In particular spray paint. Rustoleum sells for $5 a can everywhere including Amazon. Ace Hardware sells the exact can for $15! Ace has 2" brass hinges in a package for $10. Amazon has Stainless Steel $10 for 20 hinges!... and they're stainless! Those are the items I was hoping to get today but left with nothing. Nope, sorry I will not be returning to Ace Hardware.

I went into ace about a month ago and asked them to make me a duplicate key for my Nissan. They wanted 150 dollars for the key fob and key. They didn't even have one they would have to order it. I said no. Went home and ordered a key fob with key for 15 dollars. I brought the original key and the key I bought off the internet and they will not cut the key unless I bought it from them. I see now why they make so much money. I will never set a foot in another ace hardware store again. I will also make everyone I come in contact with knows what a rip off Ace Hardware is.

Worst lumber ever
September 13, 2022

My ace hardware store looks like it's in a ghetto and been robbed, the front door window has been broken for weeks and they just put plywood up over. At their lumberyard is half outside which is not covered by tarps any longer and it rained the night before I had to get some lumber it was so wet I cannot touch it for 3 to 4 days until it dries out and hope to God it doesn't warp like a corkscrew, The new owners are trying to make it nice but in honesty it's gone downhill and looks like garbage the people are pretty inept faces changing almost on a daily basis this place is a cesspool, I can no longer buy lumber due to the fact I can't wait three days to start working what a joke

Disappointing
June 12, 2023

I ordered a gift online because I was in a neighboring town and it said curbside pickup today. I ordered. It is already on my credit card statement. Went to pick it up and the store had no idea of any order. They searched their system and said it is under review. I said it's on my statement already. They said large online purchases take up to 24hrs to review and process. It should not be guaranteed unless it can be completed. So disappointed. This was a birthday present for someone. Spent over $1000. Told them to cancel my purchase and I will find someone else to order through!

I ordered merchandise online for store pickup -- same day. No same day pickup (didn't find out until AFTER I placed and paid for my order). When I was informed my order was finally ready for pickup, I was short-changed. Several items I had paid for were not provided. The person at the pickup area told me I had to go into the store and talk with someone in customer service (this is outside pickup?). After no one could figure out what happened, the manager was called. He said what I ordered was not in stock, even though the inventory showed it in stock. He said he'd issue me an online refund for the items. I went to give him my credit card for doing this and he said it wasn't needed.

A week later, no refund. Ace Hardware customer service for online orders told me it's basically my problem to solve. I've now challenged this through my credit care. What AWFUL customer service.

TERRIBLE SERVICE
April 25, 2022

Visited our local ACE Hardware store yesterday in Scottsville, KY. Needed a small can of paint mixed with Gray color. I asked about the mix at 11:15AM and was told that there are only (2) of us here and we don't know how to mix the paint.
Also the next guy coming in at 11:45 would be able to complete the task. He arrived late, had to clock in and finally received the mix at 12:10. Asked about some popcorn. Asked if it was fresh, the young lady said yes. It was not even close. She made some fresh.
Why on a Sunday with nice weather does ACE Hardware only has one person who can mix paint? I wasn't the only one waiting.
There use to be some great employee's working at this store.
We have enjoyed having this store in Scottsville. Hope that ACE stays and gets better employees.

I had my wife bring my lawnmower to ace hardware in tannersville on 611 in Pa. They told her it was no good and instead of coming to get it they'll discard it for her. She told them no, seeing it is my lawnmower. I found that odd, because I just brought it and used it once. I just left the gas in over the winter.so it was strange to me that a brand new mower was as they put it garbage. I went on YouTube to see how to kick over a mower with gas left in over the winter. The YouTuber explained what to do. So I got carb cleaner and sea foam, 10 pulls the mower worked I let it run for 10 minutes, then cut my lawn. Men don't send your wives to ace in tannersville on 611 in pa they'll tell her it's no good and tell her they'll discard it for her so it don't waste space in your garage, men don't go there because they'll try and steal your equipment. Their CROOKS! And real dishonest. I wish I could give 0 stars. I had to leave a deposit, only to pay them to try and steal my mower from my wife.

I am really disappointed at the manager's attitude in the warrensburg store, i went in with my mercedes key, he said yes he could cut keys with reverse cutting no problem.
However he didnt stock the blank or even get it. I asked if i got the blank would he use his machine and cut it for me?, he said yes he would. I spent $45 per blank key on ebay which was non refundable, i went to the warrensburg store once again and was told we dont cut customer blank keys as it may damage our machine.
I will not give business to them, will also tell everyone i know about this lovley experience.
