Have been an Ace Rewards member for several. Have recently disenrolled from program. Seems like everytime I presented promotion discount card for item, store indicated the item was already "on sale" therefore making the card worthless. Seems counterproductive to lure customer into store with promotional offers, only to find pricing is significantly above competitor prices. I try to be a supporter of small business but enough is enough with my Ace retailer.
Very unhappy with Ace hardware, we bought a 28 inch snowblower and the chute doesn't work and Ace would not pick it up for us, we have no way to deliver it to them. Very bad customer service. We haven't had it 30 days yet so it's still under warranty. Very unhappy
I was overcharged for two items I purchased. When I brought this to the attention of the clerk, a supervisor came over and said my refund would be less than the difference in the prices because I had used a coupon. I was given a refund of less than ten percent of what I should have received.
It's sad to say that ace won't help the consumer on returning ANY hurricane products. Purchased a generac generator and extension cord. Found my old extension cord and try to return the new one and was told ALL ace hardware stores will not honor any merchandise bought for hurricane relief.so revenues far exceed then helping customers. Sorry to say but had no problem on returning stuff to Home Depot.
Don't buy from this business!
They refuse to let me return a defective product, with a receipt, within 2 weeks of purchase, and at the same store!
I am out nearly $200 for the defective thing and drove 6 hours to get to the original store. What a waste of time, gas and waste of space Ace is!
As of July 27,2023 this program is less of a benefit. The new rewards coupon is Get $5.00 off of $30.00 spent regular price items. This just change from Get $5.00 when spending $20.00.
And a while back it was to get $7.00 off. Does not work with sales items.
This program has less and less value, not worth participating
We all know we have been stuck with higher prices do to someones inflation economics. But cost have come down, but retailers are not pass their lower cost to the consumer.
Had a $4 battery die in a month. Local store would not replace or refund. Corporate said deal with store. Finally found manufacturer who made everything right. If local store won't help, don't expect corporate to help. Buy only if you trust franchisee to do the right thing.
This store is run by a man ( can NOT call him a gentleman) who operates by the motto " welcome to 2023, that's how the world is" when asked to do the right thing and stand behind his stores reputation, products, and his employees. He is a crook and the store is run accordingly. The good employees who work there are overshadowed by the ridiculousness of the rest of the situation. Do not go there. Do not try to convince yourself that you are supporting a local small business. Do not be taken in by it's midtown convenience. Drive the extra few miles to another Ace. I should take him to small claims court but even that is not worth it. Really, really, nothing about this store is worth it…. Not worth it.
My first visit to the Ace Hardware store at 89th and Memorial in Tulsa OK. Couldn't be more pleased with the help I received by Rich W. Located the products I needed and loaded them onto the cart and then into the car! So great to encounter an employee who knows the location and products they carry and so courteously assists in getting them into the car. An efficient, pleasant visit that is a rare experience of late! I will be shopping this store again in the near future!
Brian, the manager of ACE Hardware in Maricopa, AZ was so customer service oriented. He not only ordered a light bulb for me that they were out of, but let me return my broken one with no charge or hassles that I had purchased there months ago. He remembered me days later when I went to pick up the ordered bulb and had it ready for me with a smile. Thank you, Brian, for making my day. What I expected to be a hassle was a true pleasure.
My husband and I went shopping at ace hardware Medina ohio on 10/29/2022. As my husband and I entered the store we were not greeted. As we w t to get what we came for, and I noticed one of the employees(cashier) went to the store manager to tell him I was in the store. He came over asked if I needed help and proceeded to tell me when I'm ready to check out he will ring me out at vine and hop register. The 2 cashiers that were there had no customers. If this is how your employees (cashiers) treat people that is a shame. I am not a disgruntled former employee, but since I'm no longer employed there I should be treated as a paying customer. As my husband and I were leaving the (cashiers) did not say anything to us they just stared at us. This is very poor customer service. I will not shop there again. Again your employees should have training on great customer e and respect for shoppers.
I ordered online for some bio blocks from the local store to pick up the price was 7.99 online/app the local store price is 3.99. So far no response from customer care. Local store does not know why the price is so high
I've been pleased with the help and hardware choices at Ace….but returns, even with a receipt and unused, undamaged merchandise are difficult at best. Clerks are resistive to help
And who they do, it is very time consuming.
I received a Large Big Green Egg from the Lake Forest location for my Birthday. After receiving this beautiful gift I realized it was to small and I wanted the XL. I spoke with Kirk the store manager and he was happy to order me a XL and exchange it for the large. Of course I paid the difference. But they came and delivered it, carried it to my backyard and set in inside the table the was designed for the XL Big Green Egg. Then took back the Large and the cardboard that it was shipped in. They made this happen in a very quick time. In just a couple days actually. Truly the best customer service and professionalism I have witnessed and experienced in a long time. They have a forever customer and will refer people to shop there. Thanks again to everyone at Ace in Lake Forest Park.

Ordered an ego trimmer with battery for $199 on sale. Bought the trimmer string. Free shipping to store. They canceled my order for no reason and they still have it listed. Now the shipping is over 200 dollars lol. Is it being shipped from mars? They did shop the string however! Won't do business with them again.
So I go to buy a staple gun and it's listed for 19.99. Go to pay and it's 26.99 I tell the guy it's not the right price. He tells me the price went up. I tell him if I was in Walmart they would have to sell it for the listed price. The guy tells me he can't do anything that's just the way it is. Told me to take my business to Walmart then. Well I'm done with this company horrible customer service and over priced items that you don't know the real prices on anything. I will never go back again. Just go to Walmart next time.
If I could give them zero stars I would. They didn't ship me a complete order and when I call to have them ship the rest of the order, after a long hold time, they told me I needed to contact FedEx first to get an incident number and then I could submit a claim. I just wanted my 3 extra mouse traps. Instead I spent $10 on shipping for a $4 mouse trap and a $5 rodent repellent fragrance. They have lost my business over 3 mouse traps they forgot to ship.
Ace Hardware Big Lake AK sold us a broken Craftsman 3300 PSI Pressure Washer. They would not exchange as they said we put gas and oil in it.
Since when do companies not replace broken equipment? I had an entire deck crew waiting so ended up buying at Home Depot and threw out a $450 machine after Craftsman said to contact Honda.
I ordered a left drain bathtub, but they shipped the right drain tub. In addition, I wasted my time picking up and returning the tub to one of the Ace location.
The manager Mr. Fuque, called me a liar, and suggested that I was not a contractor solely because I didn't know their current price for Christmas lights at the contractor rate. He literally said "if you are a contractor then you should know the price." All he had to do was quote a price, without commenting on his opinion. Over the top rude!
Answer: I purchased a quite expensive electric yard tool from ACE, got it home and it would not even assemble properly. That was a problem with the manufacturer, which is Black & Decker, not the hardware store. I try to avoid Black & Decker because of similar problems with their products in the past; the reason I bought this tools was because my wife wanted to use it and has not had any problems with Black & Decker products so I got it home thinking to make my wife happy with the tool. The tool is a string trimmer and it was not possible to install the guard at the bottom of the shaft. Perhaps a hammer would have helped but I don't like having to hammer a brand new tool together to make it work. Ace promptly refunded my money on that one. Another time I purchased an Ego yard tool and got it home and decided it was not what I need so I took it back and my money was right away refunded.
Answer: I am just a customer. I have never bought any gift cards and so have no idea why Ace is not responding properly.
Answer: There may be, I buy things from various sources depending on where I am and so on. In bigger cities there are most likely more competitors than here in this relatively small city. Nonetheless, here, ACE is excellent as far as I am concerned.
