Poor management

I purchased a chainsaw in the Trenton Florida store December 21,2023. Friday evening just filled the Saw
With gas and bar oil and started cutting for five minutes. The chain came off, bent the bar and five links in the chain. I called the store told them what happened. They said I could bring it in Saturday morning. The chainsaw mechanic wasn't there, but they had someone that could look at it. When I took it in Saturday morning, He took it into the back, took it apart, and then called me back said it look like a defective bar that it had bent links in the chain he checked the gas and oil said it was full. When the chainsaw mechanic looked at it he lied and said there was no bar oil in the the saw. And that I needed to talk to the manager. When I talk to the manager, he said there was no bar oil in the saw. They could honor the warranty. He seem to think it was a joke. He said they filed down to chain links and straighten the bar that it was fine. I will never go back to that store again. I would think twice about buying a chainsaw there.

Great Service

As always Ace Hardware at Buford gives great service. They are always helpful. I used home delivery for the first time today. A great service provided by the guys.

I have shopped at Ace for years and have never had any real problems with them other then at times advertising something they don't have in stock. I recently received a Rewards cash card and some coupons from some purchases I made and when I went into my local store (Nine Mile Falls) to redeem them I was told, sorry you can't use these here. I asked why since they are from Ace and I have used them here before when I have received them in the past. I was told they weren't from their store but from one that was more than 20 miles away and that is the only place I can use them. I said that is crazy, I have never shopped at that store so why would they be from there? She said you can go online and they will fix it but you can't use them here. I went online and was given the run around from the Ace Care Center and was finally told, "We are able to assign the local store for the future purchase and coupons but not reissue the same coupon for a different store." Supposedly all their stores are independently owned and that is why. If that is the case why did I receive a cash card and coupons from a store I've never been in? I think this is their way of funneling shoppers to stores of their choosing! They have lost my business!

I usually like shopping at Ace stores; I frequent all the stores in my area. I purchased some simple chair bumpers online and picked them up at a store. They were too big and I went to return them at a different Ace store a few miles away and they wouldn't take them. They said something about not being able to use the paperwork that I was given when I purchased the items. So now I have to drive all the way back to the other store ( which is now closed) to return them. And they only cost about $8, so it seems even more inconvenient to have to make two trips to do this. They should inform customers at the time of ordering that items are only returnable to the store at which they are purchased. The stores all carry this merchandise, the packages clearly were unopened snd had all the stock numbers, etc on the package. I was even returning them the very same day. I do not understand why a very simple return couldn't be handled. Super bad customer service. And no one tried too hard to help either. They shrugged their shoulders and said "sorry".

Went to Ace Hardware to pick up mulch that was in there flyer. To be told that it varies by store That wasn't stated in there ad. Very disappointed

On 5/22/23 I purchased a GE Universal remote to control my Vizio TV it would not set up or work the TV, today I went to return the remote for credit and was told I could not return it because I had opened the package. I told the clerk if I did not open it, I would never know if it would work or not. I was rather shocked to see that an Ace Hardware store would not credit me for the remote that I purchased that would not do what I bought it to do. He also told me I did not read the directions correctly; I told him the directions were inside the package I had to open it to get them. I told the man that I would never buy anything else from that store. He went on to tell me he could not resale it because it had been opened, he said he would lose money and must just throw it away, I told him that was what I was going to have to do. He said if I went to Best Buy and bought something and opened it, they would not take it back. I went on to tell him this was America and most retailers will allow you to return merchandise for a refund. That is just common-sense customer service. At the end of our disagreement regarding the return he told to get out of his store, The price with tax was $9.23 it is a sad day when a store owner would pretty much run a customer off and loose future business over $9.23. The guy was abrasive and confrontational.
The store was Elistway Ace Hardware Jacksonville, FL ******* on the Westside of town.

Pathetic

After seeing that ACE hires mask-holes that actually ATTACK shoppers and refuse entry to those who choose not to wear a mask, I'll never shop there again. We aren't a communist country.

Never recieved my package. So I called customer support to be put on hold and after 10 minutes of holding hung up on. Finally when I reached someone they told me my package would be here that night, it wasn't. Next day called again and they said it was delayed and would be here the following day,, it wasn't. Next day I called again customer support tells me I need to call their carrier because it's out of their hands, then tells me once I find out to call them back and let them know what GSL said! So I not only had to do all the work looking for my package through thecarrier THEY chose, now I'm supposed to let them know as well. They might as well give me their job at this point because they did NOTHING for me! The carrier lost my package so I had to call Ace back to get a refund to which they only refunded my shipping. So I had to call again to get that fixed! All in all it was about 7-8 different phone calls just to get a refund. I'll NEVER order from ACE again! This is not the first time this has happened with an order either but I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt, never again.
