Your online business is just absolute trash. Signed in and still won't allow process. Have to use pay pal. Then when items Cleary say ship to home. You get a notification saying we will email you when to head to the store. I love your products but have NEVER been satisfied and had a simple transaction to purchase things online... EVER. And I am a frequent customer even though I despise all the above bc your stuff is ok. But could be so much better with just a little better website management.
I ordered a Columbia fleece vest, went to Kirby (Houston) picked up my item, total drive time 40 minutes... I get home open the package and THE SECURITY TAG IS STILL ATTACHED. I called the Kirby location spent 13 minutes got disconnected twice, called back spoke to someone that said you can drive back and we'll take it off... Called the Corporate office same response, you can drive back to the store, you know mistakes happen. Totally Unacceptable,
Seriosly, you do not have in stock, do not let me order! I ordered 3 items, 2 of them were cancelled couple day later. How is that possible? Do not offer, if you do not HAVE it!
Bought a shirt online from Academy 320 peachtree parkway. Received confirmation for the order and ready for pick up. I arrive, give the customer service my order number and they say the order is cancelled. I asked how can an order get cancelled after I received a confirmation number, Blank stares and apologies is all I received. Not shopping there anymore die to poor business practices.
When I got my shoes for a present they had actually gave me "2 left foot shoes" and then when we had tried to return it the product was no longer there and some one had got "2 right feet". Was heard. Very disappointing! Grr
Sent me 2 left footed shoes. Got them on sale. They offered no comparable sale for a new item. I really don't like being treated as the person in the wrong when buying from a business.
Apparently they cannot read the size on a tennis racket and some socks. Now I am left with give the wrong sizes on Christmas. The associate also let me know that it was not my fault. Well Thanks.!
4 emails and no response as to where my order dated 11/22 is. I'm reordering through another company. I encourage everyone to read reviews. This company doesn't answer emails or calls. AVOID THEM!
I JUST SPENT 2 HOURS TRYING TO ORDER SOMETHING FROM THIS WEBSITE. THE WEBSITE IS JUNK. IN THE END, THEY CHARGED PAYPAL FOR THE ORDER BUT NEVER PROCESSED. I TRUED TO CONTACT CUSTOMER SERVICE, ON HOLD FOR 10 MINUTES, REP PICKED UP, I COULD HEAR TALKING IN THE BACKROUND AND THEN WAS HUNG UP ON. BIGGEST WASTE OF TIME EVER, NOW I HAVE TO WORK WITH PAYPAL TO DISPUTE THE CHARGES.
Academy.com has the WORST selection of backpacks. The ONLY backpacks they only have available are the one over $40. If you're trying to purchase a backpack at a low price, "OUT OF STOCK" will, for sure, pop up
I bought a Mudder MTC-100X game camera. The first time we checked it, it had moisture in it and has never worked again. I would not recommend these camera's. The customer service lady from Muddy said it was not covered by the warranty. Academy said since it had been 60 days that I couldn't return it. Won't be buying and more Muddy camera's! Would give it 0 if I could!
I've had two terrible experiences with this company the first was they shipped me the wrong item and when I ask for a return they told me that I could return it and then re-order. Not that they would ship me the correct item I had to actually go and re-order the item. Then when I re-order the item it is showing as label created and not shipped for almost a week now. And their customer service told me that there's nothing they can really do about that and if it's not to me within 12 business days then I can have it re-ordered.
My husband and I trying to shop tonight for him sweat pants, not only were there anti theft things in the pockets not places where they were supposed to be, sticking my husband in the fingers. When telling the employees they just shrugged it off. Then asking for help to find some Nike pants, we were told they don't make them in that color. Didn't ask if we'd like anything else, just walked away…come on guys, what's happened to customer service?
Yesterday, I called the Fairview Heights, IL store at 1:11pm CST to inquire about the availability of a St Louis Cardinals T-Shirt... I spoke to a young man... did not get his name... or remember it if he did give it...
The Cardinals clinched a Wild Card spot for the Playoffs... and they all wore a locker room t-shirt after the game for group / team photos..."Built for October". They do this for marketing... to sell t-shirts to their fans. I asked specifically, and explained what I was looking for... I was told "Yes, we have them"... I asked again to make sure... Red with "Built for October" on the front... the reply, with a little attitude..."I'm looking right at them"
So, I drive 20 minutes to go buy a few for myself and gifts for others... to wear during the Wild Card Game... and hopefully the rest of the Playoffs... and... no such thing in stock... no employees ever saw them.
I asked to speak to the Manager... took about 15 minutes to see her... she was kind enough to go back in the stock room and look through new inventory... which took about another 15 minutes before coming back out with no luck... She was apologetic... but, with an "Oh well"... like this may be standard procedure... and not the first time she has had to apologize for poor customer service.
So, I'm out a little over an hour of my time because one of your employees doesn't understand customer service, was too lazy to actually look,... or thinks it's funny to lead your customers on a wild goose chase... and waste their time.
I gave the call time because I know you have multiple cameras in your store... and can see who answered the phone at the customer service desk at 1:11 CST... and... there is a view of your Cardinals Merchandise from the Customer Service Desk.
I know employees are hard to find right now... but, at least teach the ones you have how to handle customer service... especially if working the Customer Service Desk... or answering your phone.
You didn't just lose a sale, you lost a customer... and... you'll find this post on as many Academy Sports Review Sites as I can find.

I had placed an online order for primers which are in high demand. They were in stock when I paid them.
For no apparent reason other than a high demand for them they cancelled my order. To say I'm upset is an understatement, they were in stock at the time of purchase, I have to assume they gave my inventory to someone else. I would and will not place another online order from academy you may or may not receive it.
They post items for sale that is supposed to be In stock. You place the order, they confirm by email, they charge your card, then 3 days later they tell you that your order cannot be filled. If they are going to sell on line they should do a better job of inventory management. This has happed more than once. The item they said that is in stock is still listed. What a joke!
I ordered a product, used the checkout system, and used PayPal. I received via PayPal the transaction ID and summary. I never heard from Academy.com via email. Academy.com had cancelled my transaction without informing me. I called and talked to support, I escalated to a supervisor who was trying to place the order for me. They were having issues stating there was no inventory. I was told they were sure there was some in stock and asked me to place the order after 6pm. I also received the message there was non in stock after trying to place the order. How about Academy, you get someone who understands how a checkout process should work. Don't make the customer put in their shipping address, credit card info before checking stock. Run people Run!

I ordered a size 8.5 clete online because they were out of stock in my local store. On my online form, it clearly says 8.5
When I got my package, the BOX says 8.5
However, the shoes are a 10!
This is ridiculous! I feel like they just grabbed a random size and put them in the size of box I was needing just to make the shipment!
I found the perfect anniversary gift for my husband on a competitor's site but they canceled it due to stock.
