Never get Allstate
August 13, 2023

Was going to get them but hearing all the negative reviews I refuse to get it. AARP, UNITED HEALTHCARE, ALLSTATE? Are the three worse companies to deal with. 30 yrs ago we had Allstate and dropped them and kept sending letters for over 20 yrs to get their ins. GO STATE FARM.

Waste of time
January 21, 2024

AARP STARTED OUT FIGHTING For the rights of senior citizens in fact, they originally called them, selves the gray panthers. Now they just a big business that is the number one supplier of all forms of insurance in America. They advertise all sorts of big discounts when the fact they know better than dealing with an insurance company I joined in an attempt to save money on auto insurance. In fact, the company the Hartford would not even pick me up. I had friends who are also AARP members that tried to get insurance and the rate was the same one more than you sure it's companies they already had. Of course they pushed for Obamacare Nevada how bad it was because they're the number one seller of Insurance and Obama care stipulated that you had to have mandatory insurance so it was a bonanza for AARP talk about fighting for seniors rights. Not satisfied with just going after senior citizens AARP is now going after people under the age of 50 talk about a giant money munching machine! I will not be renewing my membership, the tire waste of time

Terrible Organization
April 30, 2020

Signed up to take the driver's course for insurance discount. Paid the money completed course and never got the certificate. For some reason they have to snail mail it. It has been months and insurance discount lost. If you ask a question you will get a form letter. ONE OF THE ALL TIME WORST ORGANIZATIONS EVER!

If you're a member of AARP and you receive a offer for a free gift for car insurance through The Hartford insurance company, don't bother. They sent one to me and not[only were their prices 1,000 more they never sent my gift. (Big RIPOFF)!
When I called AARP for help, all I got was sorry it's out of our hands.
I told them to never send me promotions ever again.

My wife and I have started shopping on-line, the PROBLEM IS that every source has our home address and are sending their own advertising plus the advertising from the companies to which they have sold our address. How do I stop this every day mail box full of unwanted advertising?

Shady
March 13, 2019

A few months ago I received what look like a bill from AARP telling me that if I wanted to be a member in good standing to pay the bill I immediately took a picture of this and sent it to the District Attorney's Office in Pennsylvania. It was an advertisement and not a bill and the reason I sent it to the district attorney's office was because I'm sure there are senior citizens out there who would not even think twice and just pay the bill because that's the kind of people they are but it was a shyster Shady move on the part of AARP turns out AARP sends what looks like a list of computer addresses and tells the district attorney that I had requested this information but you know what the funny thing is I don't even have a computer

AARP mailing
March 5, 2020

When i turned 50 i received an invitation to join AARP. I declinded the membership because it doesn't relate to my interests. I have received advertisments in the mail about senior citzen complexes and step in tubs. The magazine and newspaper aren't exciting. The magazine promotes jitterbug and consumer cellular. Phone services which aren't geared to my needs.

My roof along with my neighbor's roof on both sides of me were damaged during a hail storm. AARP Homeowners had no problem replacing both of my neighbors roofs without hesitation, but when it came to my roof, they came up with all kinds of excuses why my roof did not qualify replacing. AARP just wanted to patch mine! We went back and forth for months. Just to clarify things, both of my neighbors are White males, I am a Black female. I had several roofers to tell me that the hail cut the life of my roof almost in half. Needless to say, I dropped AARP and moved on! I will never insure my home or anything else I have with them. AARP even went so far as to say that my neighbor's roof was older than mine, which qualified the replacement. Bull $#*!! My house was built before both of my neighbors was. This goes to show that they will tell a woman anything and expect her to accept it.

I do not believe businesses understand or it may be that they just do not care, but the absolute worst thing that you can do is to mistreat a woman, Black or White. She will surely spread the word as long as she lives!

AARP plans (ie Unitedhealthcare) are only in business to support the woke agenda of the progressive left. They support all the Biden policies of equity for all which translates to people who did not earn an outcome are given the same outcome as those who worked and earned it. AARP is of the mindset "YOU OWN NOTHING, AND YOU WLL BE HAPPY" Stay away, unless you support the catastrophic outcomes of the progressive socialist party (ie Democrats)

I had order the AARP membership (as advertise on TV) for the one year and add a friend for $16.00, "AND" get the AARP monthly """"AND""" a free travel bag, got the cards and the AARP monthly but didn't get the travel bag. After waiting over 3 months I call customer service to ask about it, where I got ahold of the """RUDEST""" customer service man I have ever talked to in my 70 years of life, He "VERY BLUNTLY" told me you don't get the bag without a special request for it, then hung up on me ( that is ""NOT" what there ad says) ((I still never got it and they are "NOT" going to get anymore business from me, besides I will be letting "ALL" my friends know how there customer service is

Fed up
November 2, 2019

I'm am disgusted with all the advertisement; internet, social media, tv, radio and US mail that I recieve. I have NOT found ONE helpful offering! The jitterbug, computer, ALL insurances; vehicle, life and esp, United Health care-supplemental, travel (flights, car rental, hotels, etc) are FAR MORE EXPENSIVE when using the AARP "BENEFITS" Card. I had a disastrous, very expensive experience with cellular 1. I repeatedly gave my AARP membership ads a try. ALWAYS MORE EXPENSIVE QUOTES. Several conversations I had with AARP stated that the companies that advertise with AARP are NOT AARP APPROVED or PROMOTED products. AARP is purely accepting the money these companies pay AARP for advertising. It ONLY LOOKS like AARP IS PROMOTING the product. What is AARP really doing for the senior community?

I first had the auto insurance after a couple of years they increased it for NO apparent reason...then there was my Silver Sneakers cancellation after increasing my monthly insurance,by the way I had NOT had a car accident, however I did use the Silver sneakers regularly. I would NOT recommend AARP for anyone!
