“Terrible Customer Service - Did Not Help to Refund or Repair Shipped Order”

Scott K.
8/31/19

I purchased a pair of antique cast iron fireplace andirons from Antique Associates at West Townsend. They were purchased for a client after seeing them on their website. After purchasing them, they were shipped direct to my client's home. We were shocked to see that the andirons were thrown in a box full of packaging scraps, chunks of foam, paper and packing peanuts. Both CAST IRON feet were snapped in two. After calling Antique Associates and letting them know what happened, I also contacted PayPal as the transaction was paid through them. This set the owner off and she started making claims that I was a bully - even though I had done nothing wrong but present the facts and started the claim process. Long story short, she made it impossible to file a claim, she was unwilling to refund any money or pay for repairs and was aggressive, rude and unprofessional. I would not suggest shopping on their website or ordering antiques to be shipped. I'm out of the money and only have two broken andirons to show for it. Their only resolution was for me to pay to ship them back and lose money on the sale. Antique Associates takes no responsibility for their negligent practices.

Tip for consumers:
Don't trust them to ship valuable antiques as their method of packaging is not adequate and they do not take any responsibility or offer any help if and when something goes wrong.
