They have more luxury brand models than I've ever seen anywhere else. I had an old Prada frame that I snapped in half and found 38dollarglass when I searched it's model number. I have expensive progressive lenses that I wanted to reuse in an new identical frame. It worked great. When I emailed them, they explained that their whole business model is to buy up last season's 'discontinued' stock from all of the designer labels and post them on the site so people can still access past inventory.

Never again. I wish i would have reviewed these comments ahead of time. They sent me the correct frame, just that one side the screw wouldnt come out At all! It appears to be spot weld ed ir maybe super glued. 249.98 down the drain for a piece of shoddy crap. My husband tried and he couldnt get it out either. I am retired and on a limited income. However my husband is a machinist by trade, and manager in a large company. He is quite creditable with 33 years under his belt in his chosen proffesion. They threatened to sue me. I wish they would, at least i would finally have a phone number or address to mail these back. They called me a liar. I am older then my husband so i am retired. They are the most disrespectful employees on the online customer service i have ever dealt with. How dare this Brianna speak to me in such a manner. I hope karma kicks her butt, and her mother, grandmother, or someone she cares about gets treated in this manner as she watches them age. Long story short. VERY BAD ONLINE COMPANY TO EVER DO BUSINESS WITH.

Tip for consumers:
Choose a designer brand category like Ray Ban or Versace and scroll from most inexpensive, crazy how cheap they get the longer they stay in stock!

I ordered a pair of their progressive lenses in a Groupon-special priced RayBan frame. The glasses arrived, and I immediately realized that I had submitted the incorrect eye prescription specs with the order. Totally my fault (although the website should require customers to scan/send the actual eye prescription to them so idiots like me do not make similar mistakes.)

So. Totally my fault, but I did reach out to customer service and they replied quickly by sending my problem to someone at "their lab." When I followed up after a week of hearing nothing back, CS simply forwarded an email he had received from someone at "the lab" (Mark) who said he called and talked with me in depth about the situation. No one called me, ever. So I replied with the same explanation and then sent one more follow-up a week later. Customer Service went from helpful to nonexistent within 2 emails. Important to note: I was not rude or pushy or anything because the wrong lenses were my issue. I just asked if I could order the correct lenses and if they offered a discount for my own mistake. Hm.

Recently, I saw an ad on Facebook about them giving out free glasses. I thought it's one of those buy one get one free promo, so I went to their site to check it out! Well, they are actually giving out free glasses, pretty good brands too, Polo, Tommy Hilfiger, etc.

I've searched and searched and finally found an online store that carries the frames I've wanted. These frames are out of production, but 38DollarGlasses still carries them. You can imagine how excited I was when I learned that it was available at a killer price. Hell yeah. I also bought Hugo Boss prescription glasses for my son. Excellent prices, excellent varieties.

THE BEST customer experience I ever had. (I know people typically say that when they're just happy, but this is no exaggeration). The glasses I ordered came surprisingly with a free hard case, cleaning cloth and free anti-glare upgrade - & I didn't even ask for any of these upgrades

If you're going to buy glasses online, do NOT waste your time or money with anything other than this business.

So happy with the huge selection, an the prices are unbelievably low. I've bought five pairs of glasses so far and they always bend over backwards if they're out of stock or whatnot. Buy fast 'cause they go through product quickly! I just ordered a pair if glasses for $38 and then used they're $38OFF redemption code. Such great value!

Perhaps THE WORST customer experience I ever had. (I know people typically say that when they're just angry, but this is no exaggeration). The glasses I ordered came and the hard case was busted. Also, the bevel of the lens was cut too small and could easily pop out (I had a friend who works at a reputable optometrist take a look at them).

I left a message asking if I could replace or return the defective item. I received a VERY rude call the next day. He cut me off in mid-sentence several times, he said my friend must have ulterior motives, and that they never make mistakes. He also said "you know the rules, no returns unless it's defective." I stated, "I feel they are defective, the glasses are creaking because the lens is too small," to which he replied "maybe your friend can fix it, it'd be cheaper than shipping it back to us. Bye!" and hung up. Who in customer service would even say that to the customer!?!? I was speechless I was so appalled at how he spoke to me. Do NOT waste your time or money with this business.

I bought a pair of glasses, and I wrote the prescription in wrong. I called them and told them and offered to send them back. Instead they said "no problem, you pay for new lenses with the correct prescription ($9.98 per pair) and we'll just send you another pair!" I said wow, why would you do that? The gentleman on the phone said, because we want you back! I'll be back!

Purchasing online from this site was a horrible and frustrating experience. They are impossible to reach and do not return voicemails or emails. Basically I had ordered a pair of frames only w/no lens. They sent me a tracking number, but it never changed shipping status on the UPS site (perpetually stuck in order processing). I ultimately received a package 2 weeks later, that was shipped overnight, and they had sent me a completely different brand (cheap brand), in a different color, in their "image optical case"! Talk about bait and switch!

I tried multiple times to contact their customer support for online purchases - because you can only go through 38dollarglasses.com for online purchases (calling *******937 or emailing *******@38dollarglasses.com. None of the customer support for the brick and mortar stores can/will help you (which is a complete flaw in their structure) obviously the online support is either overwhelmed or they just don't care about customers who purchase online.

It's incredibly shocking because, if you can buy from their brick and mortar stores, you'll find a completely different customer experience, it's incredible - well except for the fact that they couldn't assist me at all since I had purchased the frames online. 38dollarglasses.com completely ruins the reputation of "image optometry". Better to just not purchase from any of their online properties since they wont' help you.

They were great, act fast tho, their product sells out fast. I bought four pairs of glasses, but one of them, some Ray Bans sold out by the time I completed my orders. Anyway, they let me pick different ones that were $60 more and DIDN'T CHARGE me the difference - Great Guys! I recommend them.

38dollarglassses.com is the ABSOLUTE BEST PRICED glasses place on the planet, and totally disagree with Joe S! I phoned them and they walked me through my prescription process and even saved me money when they told me that the thin lenses I was about to buy weren't necessary - what company talks you OUT OF SPENDING extra money?! These guys do!

I broke my glasses and found these guys had the same frame, I couldn't believe the price, I wish I would have known about them before - they are the best, I've bought my kids glasses through them too and tell everyone I know!

My update 04/22/2014: per the response from Aaron W (Co Rep). Every word in both my reviews was/is 100% truthful and spot-on accurate. Nice response from you, Aaron, on my post and even a better non-biased 5-star review of your experience buying from your own company above. Whatever. If you are looking for a review of this company before buying, read all the reviews and make up your own mind. You already know my buy or no-buy suggestion for 38dollarglasses.com. (I hand't thought about this 38-whatever company since late last year, now I am angry all-over again about my experience with them.)

Me again. Following-up per my earlier review. I am downgrading my rating and want to share something significant with anyone considering buying glasses from this company. DON'T DO IT.

(My earlier review: Dave P.) So. I decided that I did not want to order a new set of progressive lenses for these frames from 38dollarglasses. I opted to buy new lenses locally. Finally went to the local optical store in my Costco to do this. They asked me if I was upgrading to progressive from these lenses? Me: "what the...?" Yes. All three of the tech's within the store checked-out these glasses and concurred that there were not progressive lenses included with these 38Dollarglasses frames.

I ordered and spent $120 above-and-beyond the cost of the frame for progressive lenses. 38dollarglasses did not include this with my glass order. Realizing my order was from July, I still reached back out to them last week asking for a remedy. No word. Hopefully Groupon can help me. If not, be warned about ordering from this company. It did not work so well for me.

Dave Power, what a shameful review, we have PROOF of the lenses that were installed in your glasses verifying that they were in fact DIGITAL PROGRESSIVE LENSES - and you know it. Telling people if they are "considering buying glasses from this company. DON'T DO IT" is intentional interference with economic relations and is actionable as a tort in civil law. Just because your threats and intimidation didn't work doesn't give you license to libel and slander us. We even offered for you to send them back to us so that we might check them - for some reason, you didn't want us to verify your claim.

Avoid this site. Customer service is absolutely horrible. I bought the groupon for the raybans and emailed the person asking a questions about the deal because they advertised on their ad about a lens upgrade for only 9.99 but on their site its 29.99 I asked if this was false advertising and they went crazy and canceled my order. I even apologized but honestly they seem more stubborn and they really don't give a crap. From this experience alone I don't even trust there product if they show this kind of childish attitude. Disappointed, you would think a business wouldn't get butthurt when asked question. First time in my life I had something like this happen. Usually never write negative reviews on anything.

I found this site through groupon, and I had ordered a pair of glasses too big for my face, and although the sale was final they gave me an opportunity to send them back and get a new pair. The customer service was prompt and eager to handle the situation, so I will continue to shop with this site.
