I inherited a houseful of stuff from my parents and need it cleaned out relatively quickly. I can't afford to have it all hauled away at once. John and Marcus came today and right away asked about how much we could afford today. We told them we'd like to keep it between $300 and $400. They asked us what all we wanted removed and looked at it all and helped us prioritize what should go first to make the most room in the house and get the most bang for our buck. They were fast, efficient, helpful, and so, so friendly. They even asked about any pets to make sure they wouldn't get out while they were hauling stuff away. That is something I truly, truly appreciated because it's been my experience that most people that come to do work in your house pay no attention at all if you have pets or not. I can't say for sure, but I think they were generous with us knowing we were on a budget and let us throw out a little extra. I will definitely be using them again, and am planning to request John and Marcus, if I can.
I had 2 workers at my house for approximately 30 min they took 4 mattresses and a power wheels jeep and charged me $806.00. I thought I would get rid of allot more for that price but you live and learn however when it hit my bank the price was close to $1000. 00. I called to figure out where the increase came from and they began to break it down the price of a full load for certain truck then sales tax then they said and a $200 tip... uuuummmmm what I never authorized any tip let alone a $200 tip. I absolutely would have tipped them if they worked longer than 30 min and if I would have at least had half the junk I have taken away but it cost 806.00 to take 1/8th of what I need gone (no way did they fill that truck the way they should have) then a tip is not in the budget. I can't believe they would blatantly steal from customers and how many times have they gotten away with it? If I did not religiously balance my checkbook everyday I would not have found it. My husband keeps a running balance in his head so had I used his account they would have gotten away with it. Super disappointed and dissatisfied with the service.
The first time I called at 12, the lady forgot to finish setting up my appointment so after waiting for 4 hours, no one came to my house or contacted me. After calling back they said that she just forgot to make the appointment so the next guy made an appointment for an hour later (now 5-7) at 5, the regional manager texted me saying the truck is full and they might not be able to come today so after talking with him he said they might have to reschedule for Wednesday. I took work off on Monday for this pick up and now they wasted my entire Monday waiting for no pick up to happen and now I would have to take time off Wednesday because they need to reschedule. The managers apology for this inconvenience was a $20 discount.
I called the main line again and explained to the next lady that my entire Monday was wasted as I have been waiting from 12 until now 5:30 for no one to show up and the manager saying they might have to reschedule for Wednesday (he won't know for another hour). I explained to this lady how my Monday was wasted and now I have to take Wednesday off and a $20 discount didn't really seem fair to me and her response was TO HANG UP THE PHONE! She hung up the phone on me. Absolutely worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. I called back again with the intention of canceling my pick up but the next guy said he would make sure the truck comes today.
The regional manager told me it would be $164 charge and I would receive the $20 discount for the inconvenience of the day. When the truck arrived at 6:30, the 2 workers came in and told me there were environmental fees and the truck was nearly full so the cost of the pick up would be $294. My jaw almost hit the floor. I was told $164 and it was almost double that.
I obviously could not give any money to this company at this point. They wasted my entire Monday and then lied to me about the price and their best offer to try and help was a $20 discount. Please I beg everyone to never use this company for any reason. Ask a friend to drag your appliances to the local dump. This company should never be allowed to make another penny for how I was treated and how horrible their customer services are.
The two young men, Trevor and Curtis, were very helpful, and polite, and got the job done in minutes. They even moved the replacement piece of furniture for us..
We had about a 4th of a truck worth to be hauled off.400.00 dollars was about double of what it should have cost.Buyer be ware! Never again for me.
We had a couple dressers, a kitchen table and a few other things to haul away. I was told they charge by the amount of space taken in the truck and that I'd get a firm quote when they arrived. That would have been fine except that the two men could not agree on what to charge. It started at $300 but when we added two smaller items it went to $425. At $300 I had set aside some tip money but, at $425 I did not. Further, they ended up NOT taking two items that were supposed to be removed. When I went to the loading dock to retrieve two dollys that I had to provide for them (they had brought only one) and pay, I gave them the $425 yet when I reviewed the receipt, it was for $400. So, they made up their own tip. I followed up with the local office and of course, none of the three "stories" - the driver, the helper nor mine - were the same. I know the truth. Finally, I looked in the bed of the truck and my items filled did not come close to using anything over $300-$350 of the space based on their own description. Misleading and deceptive at best, fraudulent at worst.
Great commercials... so I called... I am moving my office and had 15 chairs and a desk to get rid of... the person who booked the appt on the fone explained that they had a huge truck and services ranged from abot 200 dollars at a minimum and close to 1000 dollars for a full truck. He estimated that 15 chairs and a desk should be about 350 dollars. 2 guys came and one of them gave us an attitude and didnt know if he could fit everything even though we told them exactly what to expect. The truck was not huge... the size of a small dump truck... they gave the bldg superintendent a hard time... and the charged 850 dollars... it was a very unpleasant experience... charged us over twice what we were expecting...
Icalled customer srvice... they didnt even say i am sry and said someone would contact me within 48 hours... of course i never heard back
I have 2 words of advice... STAY AWAY!
My advice: find another company. You book with a central office. They hand the job to a local franchisee. When you have a problem, as we did, you will find Customer Service non-existent. Ditto the local franchisee. When I booked them for a removal job at my late brother's Manhattan apartment I listed all items to be removed. When the truck arrived it as already 2/3 full and the guy told me they wouldn't be able to take everything and I needed to make another appointment. This meant another trip to the city, another week of paying rent in the apartment because of what they called a "miscommunication" between the booker and the franchisee. When we complained to the company, one of their bookers told my husband they'd give us 20% off on the second date. We deducted that amount from our American Express bill, filed a dispute with them and paid our bill minus $127.1-880 got junk has lied every step of the way including them telling Amex that the 20% was never "promised." One lie after another. Their men damaged the elevator door and the apartment door and then lied about it. 1-800-got junk wanted "proof" that their workers had done the damage. They are not a reputable company, tho they are adept at lying. I would never recommend them. Any company is fine if you don't have a problem. Since there are often problems, this is not a company you want to use---ever!
Nick and Noah was very kind and very helpful they was patient with explaining the process and payment also quick and efficient I will most definitely be using their services again
I received prompt and excellent service. The person who took my call and nick and Keenan who collected the items were polite and friendly. I was kept informed the whole way
I called to have a few items removed from my sister's home. I was told the minimum charge was $179 and went up from there to somewhere around $750 (I don't remember the exact amount for top tier). Apparently, they have a tiered system and there are 13 tiers in all.
They showed up the next morning (day after my call) and we were the first call so bright and early. All seemed well until they supplied the quote. The first quote was very vague saying it could be as much as $750. I said, "you're going to charge me the top rate for the few items I need removed?" They said that could be the max amount, I said I need the exact amount so I can say yes or no to them removing the items. They said they had to call their supervisor to review for the exact pricing. They went out to their truck and called their supervisor. I was then given their phone so I could speak to supervisor on speaker phone. The supervisor started at $650, I told him that was too high, and he started to give me another number. I finally said I didn't have time to play games, just give me the amount so I can make a decision. The final price was $350 which I didn't take because the previous day I had a better estimate. He wasn't willing to come down to my number, so we didn't make a deal.
The two men who came to the home were polite and punctual but the pricing in my opinion was too high. Good luck to anyone thinking about using this company, make sure you get a good quote before they start.
I would recommend 1-800-Got-Junk to anyone who needs bulk removal. Prompt, professional and reasonable prices!
Phoenix and Deigo were courteous, professional and respectful of my home.
Arrived 2 hours late. Extremely expensive - no value in hiring them. Customers are not made aware of the pricing until they arrive.
So I end up calling one 800 junk I talk to a female I told her exactly what I had like a mattress and boxspring and four dressers ready broken down with the drawers and maybe like I told her like 56 bags so she tells me more or less the rate of the price will be $218 so the guys get there the next day and tell me it's almost $700 to remove everything so I was very upset because one tells you one price and then when they get there they tell you another price and they triple it of the price they said so they don't know how to communicate with each other I will never use them ever
SO I called 1800 Got Junk because I have a pickup truck bed size load of regular house hold stuff that has to go (because we are moving/downsizing). I was very clear when calling on the amount we have and that we have 1 twin mattress/box spring included.
I was told this sounds like a minimum load size which would be 150.00. I was told when they guy comes, he will evaluate the amount we have and confirm the price.
He got here and said the price was like 488 (or 458- I don't remember exactly, but high 400's)
He laughed when I said I was quoted 150.00. He said 150.00 would be one of those mattress's and one of these plastic bins. He said he has this conversation with people ALL THE TIME, and its so frustrating.
He said when you call, you are calling the Canada call center, and they will tell you anything to get your information and someone out to you. I understand that the price can vary when the guy come to evaluate in person, but this is just reckless, and a waste of EVERYONES TIME! I could of had the stuff gone a different route while waiting for my appointment, so frustrating. And I'm telling anyone who will listen that this company is shady.
I did not use them, I suspected a bait & switch scam. When I called for approximate quote, they told me $229 for 1/8th of the truck. I guess they don't normally get a person like me who worked in freight for 45 years. My immediate question was what size truck. I can picture 1/8th of any size truck. That is when the double talk started. They initially told me the "truck" was 10 ft x 5 ft x 5 ft. TINY! 1/8th of that would hold nothing! They kept passing me around, nobody made sense, Nobody could tell me the space $229 buys. Horrible! I suspect they don't have a customer service cheat sheat for someone who knows what the inside of a truck looks like. I have a string of the strangest emails from these people. I suspect many people think $229, hire them, then end up paying a lot more just to get rid of their stuff. I ended up hiring a local guy for $89. If you are calling them for a quote, ask questions. And if they tell you cubic feet but casually mention depends on how they stack it in the truck hang up.
Jaydon and CJ were awesome! They showed up on time were very polite and worked very fast! I would highly recommend this service based on my personal experience!
Johnstown NY, driver was literally speeding in a 40mph zone. I signaled him to slow down. Guy pulled over and tried to start a fight with me. I'll never use their services. Guy was a jerk
Terrible terrible terrible. Beware… cuz you got junk, but they got tricks. You'll never get a quote, but you'll get duped.
In August 2021 we got a $500 ballpark quote from 1800GOTJUNK (Louisville Metro location) for shed removal. We booked appt. Two men arrived that day but gave quote of $1200 and were not prepped to do the work. Said their call center shouldn't give quotes via phone. Called manager. He also said call center shouldn't quote over phone. He gave price as $1,000 flat fee based on filling two trucks, saying he'd adjust price if job was easier than expected. (We agreed since we were in a bind with the new shed being delivered the following morning). Day of removal, first truck was only half full when they finished and 2nd truck arrived on site with someone else's stuff in it. Still was only 1/4 full when they finished. Called manager to ask for price adjustment as he indicated initially. He refused any refund and didn't respond to calls. Tried resolving with customer service, but not helpful and they ignored our BBB complaint. I provided the BBB with all photos and security camera video from the job. They also took off with our landscape bricks I asked them twice to save for us. We shouldn't have been charged for two full trucks when neither one was half full. So the company's call center gives you a bogus quote over the phone, but the local company doesn't really care or bother to do anything about it.
