There are many hotels that one does not need to guarantee with a credit card on booking.com generally the hotel will hold the room until 4/6pm on date of arrival, at that time the reservation will cancel, and since you did not use a cc for the booking that will be the end of it. I have had some hotels who do not require a credit card ask if i want the room held past 6pm, if so then i click the box and put in the credit card information
We book our accomodation about 5 months before. Most times it's much cheaper. Good thing is that you do not have to pay until you check out. If you do not like a place you can cancel about a week before without any penalty. We booked a place in Bari recently and we cancelled because of a lot of bad reviews and we booked another place which was really good.
Don't ever use booking.com, they are terrible! They are completely $#*!ing me over on visiting my mother and sister becausen I had to reschedule due to COVID. Complete bull$#*!.
They said the same for me. I called the site that the room was booked and spoke with the manager. She said booking.com was never charged by the location and I should receive a full refund. I still havemt gotten my money back
It is not airbnb. I think guests should be reviewed too. If not more publicly sometimes
