on 11/26/15It was booking.com who charge and there is nothing to deal with the hotel.
Some will sate payment up front to get the best rate. Others will allow cancellation free of charge up to 2-7 days before the trip. If you cancel in the latter period they will charge you. Be careful though I have been charged 3 months in advance when they said they they would take nothing and I had to jump through hoops to get my money back!
To make sure you turn up. They don't want to get left with the room if you don't show up
