I have a question about Banggood customer service. It seems the sales reps from Banggood are fast to respond on this rating site and are polite. They are always telling everyone how they put their customers first but there is something I cannot understand. Can someone please explain why the have such a bad rating?

BG aka BB (BangBad), our nick name for this supplier is simply a wholesale retailer, so the quality of their products depends on the manufacturer, of which there are good and bad. Over nearly 3 years, as we build and race quadcopter drones in a club of approx 300 members, we obviously have purchased quite a bit of components from BG.

Our main contention with BB is their false and later to our dismay, found them to be fraudulent as well, customer (non existant) service.

To briefly state our case, after over 3 months of emails, photos and video ping pong with BB, they agreed to refund if we returned the item at our cost. Again after several emails, they then agreed to refund postage once they have received the item.

Alas, when they received the item, they had the cheek to email back to say, they are NOT refunding the postage, because our bank has successfully initiated a chargeback for the cost of the item (not postage) and appartently BB had to pay a fee. BB wanted us to withdraw our chargeback if we want them to refund the postage. To mitigate the issue, we offered BB to deduct the fee from the postage and refund us the balance.

BB refused.

We contacted Trading standards and Consumer Advise, nothing we can do, as BB is outside UK and EU remit.

As to Howard's input, BB's replies are all either automatically churned out or copy pasted without any genuine intention to either understand, solve and/or mitigate your concerns.

We have therefore stopped buying from BB. Buyer beware.

Don't every buy from Banggood... They sell Chinese junk and will not refund you if the items are bad. I've had to instances where they refused to give me a refund even when the led brake lights I bought for my car did not work. I even sent them pictures and video, but they refused a refund. BIG TIME CHEATS. Don't buy anything from Banggood.

In my answer I described an out of stock order situation. 2 of mine cancelled and a full refund. Sometimes an item may take 4 - 5 days to go through processing. If you pay $500 in your local store and BG charge you $350 - is a few days acceptable? If not buy local. Also FREE shipping - is by using Consolidated Hub air transport - which basically boils down to have a contanier book onto a flight and once its full... it goes and what did not get in the containers - sits waiting for the nest one on the next flight.
One cam always choose to PAY for a faster shipping service - those who moan and complain about slow shipping - chose to ignore the ooption - so cannot really complain. It is this type of person who throws out negative feedback - when if the wanted the item fast they could have paid to do so and been happy. YES they want video of a damaged /faulty item and good fo r them. Some stores insist you return it at your cost for inspection AND if you want it back you have to pay to get it back. Try dealing with HobbyKing! Expensive shipping and no free version! Fautly item - months of effort and at your cost. I do not work for or get paid or get freebies off BG. I just think they do a decent job and are fast becoming a reputable caring supplier. Also I can only speak about parts and accessories, batteries etc which are used to build quadcoptes/multi-rotors/drones RC hobby stuff. BUT I get similar reports of good trading about electronics from forum users.

I think it's cultural and language-related. They are willing to engage the customer. However, they will not deviate from the script. If you use PayPal, you will have some leverage to arrive at a resolution quickly.

That's what they want you to believe. They have people reading and responding to these sites to try and stop all the bad reviews. If they took care of their customers they wouldn't be on here. You get what you pay for on Banggood. Most, if not all of the items are made over seas. They don't tell you when you order something that it could take 6 or 8 weeks to get it. When you finally do receive it and it doesn't work it's a real pain in the a** to return it or get a refund. They want you to take pictures and videos of it to prove to them that it is defective. Then it's another few weeks to get it resolved. I went thru this with them and I only got my refund when I posted my review on some web sites and they agreed to refund me if I removed them.(See they do read them) Hope this helps answer your question.

Banggood reps keep making promises, and more promises, etc.

Example, I purchased an electric razor that was designed to go to the European market--the charger is NOT suitable for US electricity (120 volt 60 hertz). Did Banggood promise to fix the problem? No, because there was nothing wrong, well, unless you consider that I live on the wrong continent. They advertise the wrong product to the American Market with telling the truth (that the product is designed for Europe).

Beware!
