I have used Freetaxusa for many years. We use the service and pay for at least 3 returns each year for at least the past 5 years. I've never really had and issue. This year is different. I had to file an ammendment for both state and federal. Its not until after you have paid that they tell you the 14.99 they charge does not allow you to efile state. So you still have to print and mail your return. They know the State you are amending so it really should alert you beforehand. If I knew I'd have to pay for ink, paper, envelope, stamp etc. I'd of just printed the form, filled it out myself and mailed it. I was paying for the convenience. So much for that. Contacted customer care and no response yet.

Hello Michelle. Prior to 2020, the IRS and all states did not have the option to e-file amendments. The ability to e-file an amendment is new this year and many states are not setup to do this yet. We anticipate that we’ll support all states that allow e-filed amendments in the future as they allow this option. I am sorry hear that your experience has not been positive this year, as it has been in the past. We do appreciate your business. I placed an order with Carters about a year ago and returned a couple items. That return went so badly a corporate employee called me and apologized. I was given a gift card for the nightmare I endured. I never placed another order until 2 months ago when I finally wanted to get rid of that gift card I was given. I ordered somethings and had to return two items. I followed customer service directions for the return. I am now 45 days into waiting for a refund for the items I returned. I have sent numerous emails, called multiple times. I've been blown off, hung up on, promised the refund was processing and yet still I have nothing. It speaks volumes that I use a gift card I was given for a nightmare with a return and even with a whole year in between I'm living the same nightmare. Isolated incident I think not. CARTERS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST. I've even went as far as to ask them to just give me back the money I paid that was not covered by the gift card. Which I shouldn't have to ask such a thing. But even with me willing go take half a refund I am still empty handed.

This company has their own website, but also sells on Amazon. I placed an order thru Amazon and a day later received a pop up for the same item directly thru their website. To my surprise the exact same item they sold me third party thru Amazon I could purchase directly thru their website for less than half. I contacted Miles Kimball asking to cancel the order placed third party thru Amazon so I could reorder direct and of course was told it had already shipped. I was told to refuse delivery of it and I would get a refund when they received the item back at their warehouse. I could then place the order thru them directly. I explained this was a gift and it seemed tacky to ask the recipient to refuse the package and then have another sent. Not to mention this was a lot of extra shipping for Miles Kimball to flip the bill for. I asked for a refund of the difference to avoid all that hassle and extra cost. I was denied. Beware of buying from this company.
