We attempted to sell our home without a real estate agent using zillow.com. It was a mess from the start and one of the biggest real estate mistakes that we ever made. The information entered by the company was often incorrect and untimely posted. At a critical time, zillow delayed the listing for over a week with no explanation. Communication offered by the company was nearly non-existent and extremely inadequate. After numerous attempts of entering our contact information, prospective buyers were forced to come in person to our home and make an appointment for showings by knocking on our door, sometimes very early in the morning. When we finally received a response from a zillow employee, he indicated that "the system was having problems" with no remedy. Having lost precious time with a major financial transaction, perhaps the biggest of our lives, we were forced to list our home by another means. To this day, the final "sales price" of our home posted by zillow (without any input from us) is incorrect by $40,000. When I attempt to obtain real estate information from the zillow site now, the map feature, which is critical to my needs, doesn't function at all. In general, I find the website extremely user unfriendly to both sellers and buyers.

Tip for consumers:
Do NOT use the "for sale by owner" option on zillow as zillow exists primarily for real estate professionals and should make this very clear to unwary consumers. The company simply does not service sellers who choose to sell without a real estate professional.

Products used:
After this nightmare attempting to sell our home directly on zillow, we ended up listing our home with an agent, who didn't even bother advertising the house on zillow and sold it to the first prospect anyway. If zillow only exists for real estate professionals, as we believe, it should NOT offer any opportunities "for sale by owner" as that is ridiculously difficult to accomplish, even in an overheated seller's market.

This so-called "stock research company" has revised its ratings as many as 5 times within one week on several stocks that I own. If they are at all knowledgeable about the companies that they are rating, why do they change their ratings so many times in such a short period of time? What events or trends have occurred that compel them to change their ratings so frequently? As is the case with all of these so-called "stock research" companies, they are not required to explain the actual reasons for their change in rating. I am not a subscriber and have no intention of being one. There is something very fishy here. I just looked at the other reviews here, including those of subscribers, and almost all of them are "poor". How does a company like this remain in business when they have such a terrible reputation?
