This is a very poor Court Reporting School. All the program director, Jocelyn, cares about is signing up a lot of students and making sure they over log in on their hours because the more students attend the more commission she makes on each student in addition to her base pay, and the more hours each student logs in, the more money she makes as well. They keep increasing prices for the classes every 2 years or so. The tables in the lab area and classrooms, which is where the students do their work when they are not in class, are dirty and they do not vacuum or clean the tables. Jocelyn just leaves cleaning wipes for the students to clean the tables themselves. The tape recorders that the students use to grade their tests are mostly broken and dusty. They have very old computers with very old Microsoft that does not convert files when used with the new Microsoft. They keep increasing prices but they put nothing back into the school or the court reporting program for the students who are paying all this money. Jocelyn even lied and said that the students are paying a public school tuition for a private school education. Jocelyn and the school is only concerned with making money for herself and the school and not promoting education for the students. In fact, they do not want the students to succeed because the longer the students are there, the more money the teachers make. This school is so money hungry. They have the students set up on an automatic payment system so they charge the students automatically every semester. After a student signs up for a class and then decides to drop the class on the first day of class, the student will not receive a full refund. Instead, the school will keep a percentage of the tuition and only refund the student a portion of what they had paid even though they never attended the class or decide to drop within the first few days of the beginning of class. This school charges a processing fee to sign up for financial aid whether or not you qualify. Financial aid is free to apply through the financial aid website provided by our government and yet, Downey charges the students a fee for it. Students on financial aid obviously do not have the funds to provide for their own education. That is why they are applying for financial aid and yet, Downey is taking advantage of those students who are trying to make life better for themselves. It is evident by the CSR test scores that the students at Downey have a very low pass rate. It is the same students taking the test over and over again every time because they do not pass. One time I asked a teacher an English question on the test and she told me to look in my English book. This teacher grades tests in the higher speeds and qualifiers and she could not answer my English question, so how is she able to grade tests? No wonder this school has a low pass rate at the CSR. The teachers and students are not adequately educated in court reporting and the students are not well-prepared to take the CSR test. All their academic classes are online only. Some subjects are doable online. Classes such as learning the software and English grammar need in-person class instruction and discussion to fully learn and comprehend the subject material. The school also does not teach real-time. A court reporter who does real-time will earn more money than a court reporter who does not do realtime. There is no opportunity to learn real-time at this school. Also, Jocelyn sends a lot of emails with long content to read and almost every day, Downey Adult School spams your email with advertising for programs that they offer, essentially asking the students to recruit for them without compensation for the students. I wasted my time at Downey court reporting. This school has very low standards and no integrity. Don't waste your time here like I did. Jocelyn does not practice equal opportunity but she plays favorites with the students and dislikes others, and she will let you know where you stand without reservations. Jocelyn has teacher's pets and she favors the black students because she herself is black. Jocelyn is not qualified to lead the court reporting program as a coordinator. She was only hired because she is a minority female and the school needed a minority to fill that position so that the school appears diversified. For the same reason, they also have a Hispanic principal at the school. The person that really runs the show is Cindy, assistant vice principal, who is White. Cindy talks down to the minority students because she looks down on them and does not respect them. All she wants is their money. Cindy is close-minded, overly emotional, and not logical. I experienced a lot of prejudism and discrimination at this school campus from the staff here. This campus is run-down and looks like it belongs in some 3rd world country. Don't waste your time at this school with any of their programs, especially with court reporting because you will regret that you wasted your time like I wasted mine. And since the tuition here is very high compared to court reporting at a community college, you will receive less financial aid because this school takes most of your financial aid money. The tuition for the speed classes is $1,000+ per semester and there are three semesters in a year. This does not include the academic classes. The academic classes, depending on how many academics you take per semester, the average student will pay approximately $5,000 per year (it may be more now since their tuition is always increasing). This school does not provide practice material for practice outside of class. The speed building classes are only for test-taking. The students have to find their own practice material. But conveniently, Cindy had recorded her classes when she used to teach court reporting and she produced her recorded classes into DVDs and sells them for a profit. The production is very poor quality. In addition, her classes were usually, if not all, taught from a book that is copyrighted material. I doubt that Cindy bothered to get permission from the author/publisher of the copyrighted material.
20 min appointment with Dr. Caruso billed for over $800 for "surgical service" which were never rendered. Billing has been in dispute and Wake Forest has been horrible to deal with.
Hello. We at PAX College, Australia are initiating legal action against you since you fail to respond to our cease and desist for copyright infringement and trademark violation. I signed up for a course. After discovering I had a schedule conflict I tried to contact them to switch to a digital format instead of a live course. No one answers the phone at this company. No one answered the chat feature on their website. I also sent two e-mails to the company. It took 7 days to get a response. They allowed me to switch the course format. I was to get the digital link 2 days ago, still have not seen it. Same customer experience... no one has yet to respond to 2 emails inquiring about the course link, no once picks up the phone at their published number of 855-358-8585. No one answers the "live" chat feature on their website. Next step will be to dispute the credit charge with my credit card company to see if I can get a refund. Their website is "pretty' and appears to be legit but the 24/7 customer service that they list on their website is laughable. If you are considering purchasing a course, I highly recommend calling them first to see if you can even get anyone to answer the phone.
You are hoping to find a way to better provide for your family, so you give your money to this seminar, hoping to make money. The only thing you are doing is giving your money away. They take advantage of poor people in a difficult economy, by spending money they don't have. They promise that their seminar will get you your money back and then some, but that didn't happen to my sister. First they offer you a free workshop, and then they get you to purchase more. You pay high prices for courses that promise no guarantee on satisfaction or success. Don't waste your money and lose your deposit.
I worked for this company until I was injured. I was a trainee facilitator on a bus with 45 kids and adults. According to the company's own training guide I was not supposed to be alone but the other facilitators didn't show up for work, so I was responsible for one bus. Because I was working alone and the bus intercom was not working, it was necessary for me to stand in the middle row for nearly the entire trip in order for my instructions to be heard by everyone on the bus. Because I was standing at the front of the bus when it suddenly stopped, I flew forward and downward and collided with the bus dashboard, slightly injuring the driver, destroying a piece of equipment, and breaking four of my ribs. I finished the day, cleaned the bus and when I got home, I immediately reported the injury to the supervisor by leaving a message on her phone. No one every called me back for several days, and when the supervisor did finally call me back, I discovered she had first removed my email and all contact priviliges, so there was no internal way for me to communicate with anyone. This was how I figured out I had been fired for being injured on my job. I took the job because I was state certified in several sciences and was promised I'd be able to work the science trips. The problem was that there were hardly any of those - the trips were all history and social studies. I liked the concept of taking kids on field trips and learning at the same time, but this company is the worst-run, worst managed company for whom I've ever worked.
Reviews consist of shuffling papers from one organization to another and "deciding" whether standards are met. No wonder kids in PA do not get good public education.
Thanks they provide me good working edu email and delivery is fast its works on onedrive and drive also
I am full of appreciation for their work. My questions were answered promptly by the 2 ECE staff I talked to, the report was done very quickly and fairly and I received it earlier than I expected. Aside their low pricing and excellent customer service, they did exactly what they said they would on their website. Their services are outstanding.
$300 and you can't even call your teacher to get support on assignments. They just sent it back. I'm SO frustrated with this system, and I'm so excited to never have to take another Beacon course again!
An education institution that doesn't really care about giving quality education to students. The teachers here who call themselves as professionals aren't doing their jobs well. They only care about getting their salaries and not much how the students are learning and developing. I won't advise anyone to enroll their child here.
It is by far the most infuriating load of hypsters that i've ever encountered whilewalking 5 decades on this planet stay far away from this group of fast talking shysters, never again!
The Android Programming Course from EDUmobile is well organized and takes developers through important aspects of developing Android applications. Any questions I had were quickly answered so support was always there when I needed help. The videos were a clear guide to how to write the applications, and what results to expect.
Lecturers and all were good. Sadly, the administrative team was horrible. Poor announcement of school info. Poor lesson planning. Last minute change of venues and timing. They even once lost the textbook they were suppose to distribute to us. It was a terrible experience dealing with their admin
They state it clearly on their site that they are giving a 7 day free trial. But once you go through the trouble of providing your cc info and registering it is as if you didn't have to login at all. The content is the same with locks in all the places that a subscription is supposed to unlock. This is unethical and a a waste of time. I would stay clear as there are much better alternative paid sites.
Fact that all other reviews appear pretty good I wonder if our experience was a fluke. Of course I will never know as the call I was promised by online chat never came. My daughter had invested 20 hours of time on their TREMENDOUSLY boring modules only to suddenly be locked out. The entire time I had been asking her why do you have to keep calling in and she said it's something about verifying that I am me. Well according to the chat she got locked out because she had failed 18 of those validations which never said she failed or perhaps that's why she had to call in, but in any event we chatted online and the woman said that we lost our $60 for the course and she had to start all over again. When I complained she said she'd have a manager call who never did. It may have been partly my fault because I missed out on the initial instructions which explained how she was supposed to validate and apparently she misunderstood but it was the SELF taught course which should mean make it understandable to 15 yr old and/or contact customer with a warning before just cutting you off irreversibly. DPS said no rule pertaining to this-- so it was the school's choice. Doing over though, will find a more engaging, visually post 1990 course with good customer service!
