After reading the reviews of the "number 1 rated dating site", I'm like f##k this! I have not signed up yet, but don't feel I should, but I'm all about bad decisions, so I probably will.
First sign of BS, they kept editing my profile and referring to some rule of no profanity, identification, etc. When all I was trying to say was that I had not signed up yet and could not respond YET.
Second bad sign, writing customer support gets, ZERO response. You actually have to call India, or wherever else they have outsourced these jobs to, to find out, they do NOT allow you to state the status of your profile or subscription status. Funny, they won't say that in writing...
Third bad sign, the guy I'm most interested in signing up for, when I Google that username, tons of listings on POF come up in OTHER COUNTRIES, sounds pretty legit so far.
So I may still give this a shot, but keep all of this great advice in mind, because from what I'm hearing from almost ALL OF YOU, is that this site basically is a scam.
I'm pretty sure the only real dudes are guys who are fat old perverts who like every other site, want naked pics the second they introduce themselves. That is modern dating now, correct? Just want to make sure I understand the pathetic state things are in now.
Oh, I almost forgot, nicktheitalian (or something like that), who I saw online probably TEN years ago, still has the same vague picture from 10 YEARS AGO, and pretty much the exact same username, from somewhere else. All I remember specifically is this was one of my first "catfish" experiences, before it had a word. Fortunately, my brain has spared me the gory details.
Well I'm not new to online fiascos, so once I join, I will update this review with some good battle stories, hopefully not wounds.
Scammers on this site SAYING they are from Africa.
The site itself also don't work. AT ALL!
DO NOT JOIN!
It's good at least naroweing down by raduis and by age but not much else and at least easy to use but not much let it stand out
Zoosk is a scumbag dating site with prostitution. Zoosk is alow base scum sucking dating site for professional sex workers
I met someone fairly quick. I didn't get catfished or experience any women propositioning me. I didn't come across any mean women.
I actually found my FOREVER THANK YOU for the opportunity to get myself into a good thing and honest woman who is the ONE.
Thanks zoosk! I met nicole. Went to dinner and i could not be or get any happier with finding her!
I didn't have a chance to meet nice guys on this site, except for one. I guess it was luck.
I'm so glad I signed up. I've met the perfect man and am looking forward to the future with him!
I met a lovely man who seems perfect for me. I am pursuing this relationship to see where it goes.
Met someone so we agreed to get off site so we're not distracted n see where it goes.
Thanks. Mk.
Cons
1. No spell or grammar checker
2. Window for typing messages only 5 lines with 1 to 6 words/line. You are always scrolling up and down to read your entire message. This small window makes it easy to miss spelling errors, wrong tense missing words etc.
3. In 3.5 months 2 women tried to scam me for money. 1 for $5,000. A 3rd maybe trying to scam me but hasn't asked for money yet.
4 Another profile had 6 "verified " photos. Me and 2 friends agreed they weren't the same woman. When I complained, ZOOSK removed the profile
5. ZOOSK provides a list of women that have looked at my profile. I contacted 2 that ZOOSK said looked at my profile several times, both women said they hadn't looked at my profile. Which makes sense because both live over 800 miles from me.
6. Customer service jumps to conclusions and answers questions before reading the entire question. Having jumped to a conclusion they give a stock answer to a different question. This results in having to keep asking the same question several times before customer service finally answers the original question.
7. ZOOSK keeps telling me that women that live 100 to 400 miles from me are looking at my profile. How many women are interested in dating a man that live 1 to4 hours from them
8. ZOOSK encourages me to ignore messages sent to me if I'm not interested in a woman. That is ZOOSK encourages rude behavior. Rather than send a canned not interested
9. ZOOSK has an auto replay feature, so as you send a message, you get a canned auto reply. So you never know if someone is interested in you or not until they haven't responded to second or 3rd message.
10 there is no way to tell is a person is active or not on ZOOSK. This means you could send a message to someone that hasn't been on ZOOSK for a year. I asked about this and customer service confirmed this correct.
I joined for 6 months around the end of July 2017. I was flooded with views for the 1st 10 to 14 days. Almost 500 of them. If I deleted any, they came back. Funny how the views and the notifications are not in sync with each other. I also get notifications of views, but they disappear when I click on them, and a different view profile shows up.
Funny how there is no search function to view or contact a member by typing in a user name. That is a giveaway that the whole system is controlled.
You want me to spend another $10/month so that NON PAYING MEMBERS can read my messages? YOU ARE OUTTA YOUR@#$%&*@#$ MIND! Think about the logic here! Buy gifts? NOBODY CARES ABOUT THOSE!
My contact wall is beyond crowded. More than half of them I've never made contact with. All it takes is a view and any response, or a maybe both ways on carousel to wind up there.
The "Smart Pick" is pretty stupid! Not even close to what I'm looking for. How can you be positive or negative with a micro thumbnail picture that is hard to see, and notice that no user name is given.
Now for the positive.
I have had some responses to messages, ranging from they are already dating someone to back and forth chats eventually resulting in phone conversations with real live women. Although I haven't met my match yet, I have 2 lady FRIENDS that I didn't have before, and whom I can call anytime. They are "buddies". No romantic inclinations, but we think alike and get along, and there is nothing wrong with having good friends. One is local, and one is not.
The Carousel matches have been mostly pretty accurate except for distance. Just how am I going to cultivate a relationship hundreds of miles away, although closer distances that are reasonable do show up. 50/50 on that one.
I get many views from older women looking for a "Boy Toy". It seems that Zoosk generates quite a few views that really never took place, anywhere from 2 minutes to a few hours ago from launching the app, but not always showing in the notifications. More age appropriate women seem to be much less common.
All in all, credibility is an issue. Zoosk generates things to create an illusion of activity.
Yes there are real live good people there. You have to put in the time in order to gain anything worthwhile, but there are no guarantees. I'll do my remaining 5 months and decide whether to continue or not. Anything significant, I'll try to update this review.
I found the one I've been looking for all these years on this site. Zoosk has the most activity.
I did meet someone so thank you for that but I'm not very pleased I was charged again since I thought I had cancelled my subscription!
I meet a wonderful guy name John Anthony Wild now time for me to let others find what they looking for GOOD LUCK to all you
I have reported this website to the FBI because it is nothing more than a tool for CRIMINALS to SCAM and prey on victims for cash.
I'm grateful to Zoosk for the opportunity to meet a man who I would have otherwise never met.
Answer: These view are fake. Zoosk is lousy site! They obviously mislead their customers giving them fake likes and matches. You get instant bot auto-responses. I left to http://J4Love.net The result of my search there is incredibly awesome: I finally spent Christmas with my woman! I had wasted 11 months on Zoosk and then it took me just one month here to meet my perfect woman. Don't let Zoosk con you into their shady and phony "dating" kingdom. Zoosk is worthless, time is precious! The longevity of profiles is tremendous, they are there for years, obviously outdated.
Answer: The real matches are scant and located at distant places. The fake matches are abundant especially when your membership is about to end. It's phony. I met my girlfriend on http://J4Love.net This dating service is a lot better than Zoosk, Match, Tinder, etc. They are more professional with ethical approach to business - something that Zoosk lacks now. Zoosk used to be better couple of years ago, but now they suck.
Answer: ZOOSK, is a total RIPOFF
Answer: NO MA'AM IT IS NOT. In fact I only used the coins when I could get them for free. Under the system that's no longer possible. Nobody takes that sort of thing seriously, and for a woman it's even less relevant.
Answer: In the two months I have been on Zoosk. I have chatted with a number of woman, exchanged phone numbers and talked on the phone and I am just an average looking joe. I have also had times when I received a chat request and the person does not respond. You do have to pay to chat and the other person has to be a paid member. OK if your reading this there is one thing I found, if you search, only pay attention to the ones that say "recently online", the other ones may be fake or no longer active. It's a numbers game I have had many that did not respond to my messages also.
Answer: I believe it is. But how safe is the internet these days. Just don't be quick to give too much information too soon you will know when its right to share. Good luck
Answer: Not at all don't bother buying them just play some games u will get some
Answer: Chances are you're sending a message to someone that was a member long ago and isn't registered any longer. Zoosk is a total scam.
Answer: Unfortunatly not. You have to be a member. I suggest you don't try this site. It won't help you to find wat you're looking for. Cheers. R.
Answer: I can't believe you expect that! The whole idea is anonymity until people are comfortable with exchanging personal info.
