Zoosk

I signed up for 1 month of Zoosk due to seeing it was one of the most used sites for the LGBT community online. I am horribly disappointed and feel like they need to address this issue that apparently is not only happening on my account, but others I have spoken with. After creating my profile, I started scrolling down the different options given. I didn't click on some of the profiles that were showing up as online, only ones not that super far from me. But then these random people from everywhere who I didn't even view or message started popping up in my view lists over and over again until I had to block people constantly. They also started contacting me asking me about myself or saying hello & talking like I had reached out to them first and showed them interest either with message, smiles or hearts sent, when I never viewed or messaged them AT ALL. When I contacted the customer help line, they just read off a script to me without addressing my issue and said the site was just set up like that and they could offer me to view people as incognito for free. When I asked for the corporate number, they told me that I would just need to call the customer help line which was the one I was talking them on. First of all, I believe they need to address this issue, as it is sending messages from my account like it is me and it is not. To me that is IDENTITY THEFT.
DO NOT USE THIS SITE UNTIL THEY ADDRESS THE ISSUE!

On Consumer Affairs, Zoosk has a user rating of 3.9 out of 5 stars based on more than 7503 ratings. However, recent reviews include many one-stars and the complaints center around failed refunds, poor customer service and disappearing messages. READ THIS AND TAKE WARNING!
I have been dealing with the issue of this company of taking money out of my account without my permission. They have made it virtually impossible to reach them by phone as their customer service line is "down" due to repairs...haha.it has been over a week and it is "still down". I tried unsubscribing from the site but it refuses to allow me to do so. It asks all these questions and at the end, it will not "unsubscribe" you.,,therefore allowing them to take out the money out for a renewal. I now have to have my credit card cancelled and a new one ordered. This means contacting all the people with whom I have done business with to allow me to resubmit my billing information and you know what that means.TIME, EFFORT, FRUSTRATION and ANGER all because ZOOSK uses shady and sketchy techniques to make it virtually impossible to unsubscribe. I do not want others to fall into this hell hole that I have been through. BEWARE of ZOOSK'S PAYMENT METHODS!

I signed up on a whim... never have done this online dating before. My story is unique because the woman I met, I actually ran into her the night before we randomly ran across archive on line. While taking my kids swimming at my apartments. I made eye contact with this beautiful woman who was sitting by the grills with friends cooking. The encounter was no more than subtle eye contact I thought. The next day while looking through profiles and ready to a give up on online dating... I ran across a profile I connected with andsusurprisingly was close to me. I sent her a true message and an honest message... she responde d shortly after and after 2 or 3 back and forths she realized I was the guy st the pool the night before. I was in shock! Needless to say we have really hit it off and are going on our 2nd date in 2 nights... and I honestly really like this woman. I sincerely believe this app is the best out and really puts you in a position to neet someone you might not have ever gotten to. I did see her before we met online but if it werent for this site... we probably would have never really met!

I thought I would give Zoosk a shot because I was hoping the quality of women that I would meet would be better than free sites. As well, I figured if women were paying for the site that would be more serious. I need to need 5-10 messages on free sites (Pof and Okcupid) before getting a message on average. I signed up for a 6 month membership. I wanted to meet women who were serious about wanting a long term relationship. I am on free sites Pof, Okcupid, Bumble and Tinder.
Zoosk is terrible. The response rate on Zoosk is worse than Pof and Okcupid. I am wondering how many women have paid memberships. The profiles are Zoosk are often short and don't have much of a write up. You get a notification from the system that you have a message when someone has liked you. Profiles on POF make you list your profession and your longest relationship. I will this feature because I will steer away from profiles of women who have not had long term relationships. Okcupid is unique because you have to answer questions about yourself. This is a great feature. I have had two long term relationships off Okcupid. Seriously, stay away from Zoosk it is a waste of money. I only met one person in 6 months. I think the swiping apps (Bumble and Tinder) are the way of the future. People always say Tinder is just a hook up site. I disagree. I dated a woman for 3 months off Tinder. I have found you can meet women who want long term relationship off Tinder. Bumble is fantastic because the woman has to make the first move. Women are more serious. Tinder you can send messages with no response ever. In summary, there are much better options that Zoosk.

This was my first try at online dating. Zoosk is a horrible website. They say they verify the people on this site but that isn't true. I started "talking" to someone through Zoosk who had an accent and when I questioned him he said he traveled between Europe & the States all the time since he was a kid but was born in Europe... never ever naming an actual country. He also stalled meeting me because he was trying to get a new jewelry business started. I was suspicious and decided to ride this out... well he finally got the call from his contacts in the UK and a company in Dubai wanted him to open up a store here in the States. He quickly jumped on a plane to NY and then next day he was in Dubai; texting and emailing me. Of course there was a terrible accident getting off the plane in Dubai and he needed a new cell phone and laptop and could I send him one so he could get home; he needed all his contacts. He assured me that when he got back to the States we would finally meet and then he would reimburse me by expenses. REALLY! When I refused to send him anything he got angry and tried to blame me for not 'being there' for him when he needed me the most. His call came from an exchange that is common in Ghana. I called Zoosk to complain about this scammer and they said yes it sounded like a scam so I inquired about how they verified any of his profile and never got an answer. BE CAREFUL THIS IS AN AWFUL WEBISTE AND I CANCELLED MY SUBSCRIPTION IMMEDIATELY.
