ZocDoc is an extremely convenient and effective way of scheduling and managing appointments, and it can't be emphasized enough that they go to great lengths to ensure the satisfaction of their users. Would rate 6 stars if I could.
This seems like an interesting new site to find physicians in your area by specialties and who are covered by your insurance plan. I imagine it may be useful if you were traveling, had a medical emergency and needed to find a physician nearby. You can even view their schedules and make an appointment online. That's pretty cool.
Title says it all. I always put off doctor's appointments for the hassle and stress they bring to me. But ZocDoc took all that way through a simple sign-up process, doctor finder by location, ability to filter doctors by insurance coverage.
Thanks ZocDoc!
ZocDoc has made it extremely easy to connect with doctors, and to find the right fit for me. Although I put my appointments on my calendar, the email reminders are fantastic-they come a few days ahead and remind me that it's coming up!
I like it a lot. It is very useful especially if you don't know what doctor you need or if he accepts your insurance. Also you can book a appointment with him right there on a spot. I really enjoyed zocdoc customer service. Very pleasant people willing to help, listen and understand. Thanks very much. To improve you just need more doctors on the list. But of course it will take time. Thanks for your hard work.
When I first started using this site it a few years ago appointments actually existed that were booked. I now find that 3 out of 4 appointments listed don't exist. I call the office only to find that time was either taken or didn't exist. I have seen people in doctors offices that were turned away due to their appointment not existing. I also found that profiles filled out through zocdoc are a waste of time as doctors make you fill out their own paper work. I also found insurance information not to be accurate. You have to check the database on your insurance site to get accurate information. Sometimes the doctors office doesn't even know if they fully accept your insurance. Overall I just use them for names addresses and to look at patients reviews. I would love to see a start up to challenge this app and provide the services it advertises to offer.
We are a 5 star physician Practice who used to accept all insurances and provide an equal access of care to all patients. It's unfortunate that Zocdoc has taken a capitalist approach to Patient care. They decided to charge $80 per patient to our practice (whether patient shows up or not). This forced us to not accept poorly paying plans as we would not be able to sustain a medical practice with that ridiculous price. Charging to see per patient should be criminal because they are putting value on patient care. I am sure doctors will be inclined to order unnecessary test and visits to make up that cost.
In regards to your feedback, we've decided to transition from a flat subscription rate to one that charges a provider for each new patient booking in order to lower the barrier to entry for more providers and thus improve patients' choice and access to care. We have successfully implemented this new structure in 13 states and as a result, providers can now see the value that Zocdoc brings. The value of patients receiving care, however, is immeasurable because helping people get the healthcare they deserve will always be our first priority. My experience with ZocDoc has been very positive. It makes locating a doctor that best fits my needs very easy. Scheduling is also not complicated because the doctor's availability is posted. Having that feature makes me feel less rushed in having to decide what date and time works best for me. Additionally, the confirmation email from the doctor's office is reassuring that the appointment, indeed, went through. I will continue to use this service.
After making numerous appointments with doctors who were listed and confirmed as in- network providers, jus to get emails back with the explanation that doctors are actually out of network. So much wasted time doing researches and booking!
Sorry to hear that there was a mix-up with the insurance information for your recent bookings, Nicole. We expect that our professionals all have accurate and up to date information on their Zocdoc profiles. We would like to look further into this. Do you mind giving us a call at 855-962-3621 to discuss further? -The Zocdoc Service Team
ZocDoc is convenient to use to find a doctor and schedule appointments. It's great to see all of the availability. No more waiting on the phone. It's nice to read reviews from other patients before seeing a new doctor. Occasionally, the insurance accepted is not up-to-date but overall the site has been a good experience. Customer service is great and is quick to respond if you have a problem, such as a cancelled appointment, etc. I just wish more physicians join to expand our choices.
Let's face it - hopping on the phone and calling a random stranger is intimidating. ZocDoc makes it super easy and gentle to find a nearby, highly-rated doctor, book an appointment online, and even fill out your forms ahead of time. Plus, the site is designed in a way that it's actually sort of fun to book appointments, and it makes me want to book more, as weird as that sounds.
Anyway. Never going back to cold calling again. This is how I'm booking all my doctor's appointments going forward.
Clean, easy interface. Finding doctors is painless. A few times appointments show up as available on the site, but then the doctor's office will call to let me know that that time isn't available and I reschedule. Figure they're still working out the kinks. Customer service is impeccable and personable!
Easy to make an appointment. Won't be quiet after. It feels like making a date with a crazy stalker. Before even going to the appointment, you get several notifications on top of several survey reminders after making an appointment. I probably spend more time filling out these stupid surveys than actually making the appointment. I'm sure this is helpful for people who have a hard time keeping appointments, but it is really overkill.
Our account was " breached" by someone other than my office. ZocDoc did not notify us until many months later and could not give me any information other than it was corrected. When I asked to be compensated in some way they told me it was not there policy to refund people.
I thought they handled this very unprofessionally.
Besides that not one patient was booked through them.
Please stop calling dental offices acting like you are dentists that want to speak with my dentist and then try to push sales on him. I will never give him the messages and it is making our office crazy with the calls
I've used ZocDoc to find four different healthcare providers (dentist, primary care, vision, dermatology). I really like the easy of scheduling. The reviews are fantastic as well because every doc I've found has been top notch thanks to ZocDoc. Where it comes up short is the paperwork. ZocDoc makes you fill out a bunch of medical history paperwork where they say they will forward it along to the medical providers. The problem is that everywhere I've went they've ignored the info ZocDoc sent over and made me fill out the paperwork manually all over again. It wastes 5-10 min of time each time I have to do this and really bothers me that ZocDoc says that I'm saving time by doing it up front even though no provider seems to care that I've already filled it out.
Do not use this service. When we arrived for scheduled appointment there was no information or appointment for us. Received reminder from ZocDoc 2 hrs before said appointment showing correct doctor and address along with date and time of appointment. Doctor's office knew nothing about us!
This is the most efficient way to make appointments, no longer to I need to come in an hour early just to get paperwork filled in or bring all my information. The offices have most info and you just have to do new patient registry. I also like that you can see full doctors profile and their appointment times.
I wish the site had better ways to filter doctors locations by distance/public transportation. Maybe, incorporate Google Maps, so you can see the doctors that are close to an address (work, home, school)
ZocDoc charges for all bookings. The only way you don't get charged if you select "client asked to cancel" within 24 hours of the booking. You still get charged for no shows, or if you forget to hit that cancel button within 24 hours.
Patients routinely book and don't notice they're out of network, or ignore our minimum age requirement, and when we notify them, patients say "oops my bad yeah cancel", and we use that reason to cancel. ZocDoc then has the gall to complain that "the appointment should be cancelled with the most accurate reason and is not eligible for refund," that the reason should be "we don't treat this type of patient" instead. ZocDoc DISGUSTS me.
I really don't understand how ZocDoc exists legally, given anti-kickback statutes. I can't wait for them to be shut down.
Hey there, Alejandra. We're sorry to hear that Zocdoc has not added value to your practice. Zocdoc is a paid marketing platform for providers, and our pricing was determined by a valuation study conducted by a reputable third party for the types of services Zocdoc is providing to them. If you're having trouble with marking patient cancellations appropriately, please give us a call at (866) 962-3621 so we can help walk you through it and explain a bit more about our billing policies!
I like using the site a lot to make appointments, though it is healthcare, I believe they should have restricted guidelines when letting who can use the site. I have used horrible doctors on the site with low ratings. Therefore I had to spend more money and time to fix issues created by poorly rated professionals. Also had some doctors to be scam artists/insurance fraud, had yo take legal action
Hi there,
I am so sorry to hear about your poor experience with these doctors. Feel free to give us a call at (855) 962-3621 if there is anything we can do to help!

Answer: Hello Mark. Zocdoc offers a closed-loop review system that allows patients to share their experiences after being seen for an appointment booked on Zocdoc. These reviews can be found on each individual provider's Zocdoc profile. You can search for a provider at https://www.zocdoc.com/. Please let us know if we can help you find the care that you need or if there is a different set of reviews that you are trying to access at this time. You can reach our service team at (855)962-3621.
Answer: Hi Sandra, we hope that you were able to get the care that you were looking for. At Zocdoc, we are not able to offer any medical advice or guidance so we recommend you contact your doctor directly if you need to ever verify they will be able to provide the treatment you are looking for. Feel free to reach out to the Zocdoc team at (855) 962-3621 or service@zocdoc.com if there is anything we can do to help you find the care that you need.
Answer: Yes, prices appear to be around $44-180 now. Offices get charged this even for cancellations, no-shows, and fake bookings. Zocdoc has no built in protections to negate this type of booking behaviors. Why would they when they profit off it? Zocdoc also prohibits practices from talking about this fee as it violates their "community standards."
Answer: Hello Swetha. Thanks for reaching out. We'd love to help you find a doctor and book an appointment right online. If you go to www.Zocdoc.com, you can search for doctors by specialty, location, and insurance. You'll be able to see a list of doctors and their availability. Once you select a doctor, you can choose the time that is best for you. Once you complete the booking process, the doctor will receive your appointment information and confirm your appointment via email. This is completely free for you as a patient. Please give us a call at (855) 962-3621 if you need help with this or anything else!
Answer: Hi Amanda! That depends on the doctor's office! Every provider is different, so it would be best to get in touch with them about specific pricing information. Give us a call at 855-962-3621 if you have any other questions. In health, Mary M. Zocdoc Service Team
Answer: Hi Mallory! Thanks for your question! You can see a provider's reviews by viewing the full profile and scrolling down. All of the reviews will be listed there toward the left side of the page. Give us a call at (855) 962-3621 if you are having any trouble! In health, Mary M. Zocdoc Service Team
