Overall, they are doing a great job. Very easy to look up doctors in a variety of ways. If there are occasional problems, their customer service team is very quick to ask for feedback (which I am quite happy to give them) and try to improve the experience for the future.
More and more doctors and systems are being hooked up to their system, so the system is getting more and more comprehensive.
Keep up the good work!
I visited a doctor listed as taking my insurance via ZocDoc. When the doctor then slapped me with a bill, I reached out to them NOT to get my money back, but instead to inform them that this doctor they listed on their site did not actually take said insurance.
Their response was that they would not remove the doctor because "the doctor said they take that insurance". When I asked if they require proof of insurance from the doctors they list on their site, they said no.
So they are listing doctors on their website without confirming any proof that they do take certain insurances, which is not only terrible but also illegal.
I found the Insurance company websites almost impossible to use when trying to find a doctor. Zoc Doc was just the opposite. It was easy, efficient and extremely helpful. I can quickly find doctors in a specialty that accept my insurance and then book the appointment at that moment. I have actually visited doctors rather than put it off because zoc Doc made it all so accessible! Thanks
I've used ZocDoc a few times and I have to admit - it beats calling in to make these appointments and remain on hold for minutes or get the run around. Its pretty simple. ZocDoc was made for people like myself. I like convinience and simplicity.
You can find a doctor with all the criteria to have a more effective plan of treatment less visit experimenting with practices when you know what you need and fast zoc doc delivers many options in many locations
When you're in pain and need to see a doctor, the last thing you need is the doctor you booked to tell you they don't take your insurance. Zoc doc does not have updated information on insurance. Worst experience. Would never use this site again
So nice to have everything all in one place! My medical, dental, and vision team are all in one place--along with my appointments and reminders. Additionally, any time I've had a problem I've gotten a person call from the ZocDoc team. I couldn't imagine anything easier than this.
So far, I've found ZocDoc easy to use and I've had no problem finding the doctor of practice that I need. Lookup is easy and I like the fact that you can make your appointment right online. This is much better than calling in the office, I think it is great!
I've only interacted with ZocDoc when an email was sent to me requesting I check in for my appointment ahead of time. Both times, I checked in but I guess my doctor's office didn't receive the info because they called me to make sure I was coming. The first time, however, I did get to see the doctor without filling out anything. The second time, well, I was already in the system so I don't know why I had to go through all the trouble with Zoc Doc the second time. Great idea, but needs some kinks worked out.
Hi there,
We are so sorry you had some trouble with those check-in forms. Give us a call at (855) 962-3621 and we can take a look at what happened here.

This company calls our office numerous times per week, insisting to speak to the doctor. I give them our email address to send correspondence because our doctor's wife handles these types of inquiries and responds via email if interested. They are rude when being told they cannot speak to the doctor and continually ask if they can follow up next week. When being told they have to correspond via email they get pushy, arrogant and nasty. They actually hung up on me today!
Hi Karin, Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We apologize if this type of outreach came across this way. We'd be happy to look into your situation closer to see what might be happening here. There are certain conversations that cannot take place over email as we have to adhere to proper security policies in place at Zocdoc. We would be happy to explain this further and address any additional concerns you have if you'd like to send us an email or give us a call at (866) 962-3621. - The Zocdoc Service Team
Super easy to use: select your specific insurance plan, select your area, and ZocDoc shows you all available doctors that accept you insurance and when they're available for an appointment. ZocDoc even has the paperwork needed so you can fill it out and bring it with you to the office and avoid the new paperwork. Best website out there to find a doctor!
They are totally garbage and robbing company. They make providers at the mercy of patients and use that to their advantage. I have heard that sometimes Zocdoc ask fake people to make appointments so that they can make money everytime people book an appointment. Its a scam and they are thieves. They don't listen to what doctors have to say. As soon as someone click the appointment button, they take money from your account. Who knows if Zocdoc is not creating a fake army of patients who make fake appointments and they make money.
Hi there Sharon, and thank you for leaving that feedback. We are truly sorry to hear you feel that way and believe that is what is going on. We have a dedicated team who is available 365 days a year to help you better utilize and optimize your profile to get value out of your account. There are no strings attached and providers can cancel their accounts at any time if they feel our service is not for them. Please give us a call at 866-962-3621 so we can look into this and see how we can help.
Don't bother with this service. They don't verify if the patient has insurance that you take but charge you anyway. We never even saw a patient that they referred and were charged $110. We received one patient in an entire year of their services. They indicated they were going to advertise to increase their presence but never saw a thing.
Hi there, Dr. Jon. We're sorry to hear you had a poor experience. With our new pricing structure, we charge participating providers an annual license fee,
Plus a booking fee every time a new patient books an appointment with them through our platform. We want to give patients the opportunity to select their insurance and verify its accuracy, but we also want all patients to be able to receive care regardless of their coverage. We also want to ensure your profile is set up for success, so we'd be happy to take a closer look at your account in order to do so. If there are any questions or concerns that were not addressed previously or if you would like assistance with your profile, please give us a call at (866) 962-3621. - The Zocdoc Service Team
ZocDoc is so easy to use! I recently moved to the Dallas area and needed to find a primary doctor for me and my kids. I wanted to make sure the doctors had a good rating, were in the area, and that my insurance was accepted by them. Everything went great thanks to ZocDoc!
I was talking to a representative over the phone, and he didn't let me finish talking. He kept interrupting me, but instead, he said I was the one who interrupted him. In the end, he said: "This is being inappropriate and unprofessional. Go ahead hang up the phone." I was shocked at how bad their customer service is.
I'm sorry to hear you didn't have a productive experience with our Service team, Dani. We make sure all of our associates are trained to provide the best service we can to all of our patients and providers. If you have a moment, please give us a call at 866-962-3621 so we can get some additional information to ensure this doesn't happen again.
Wasted my time. I took off an entire afternoon based on Zocdoc appointment confirmation. I wasted valuable time and money. The doctor's office told me that they never received any information from zocdoc. Zocodoc caustomer service called next day to say they will send me $5 as compensation which in spite of acute frustration I declined.
Bottom line - their system does not work. Stay away.
Doctor Ruwani Gunawardane has been my neurologist for three years She was able to identify my rare condition when no one else could. Her expertise enabled a quick identification, treatment plan and recovery. Her professionalism and care is always portrayed in every visit.
I can get an appointment with my primary care doctor faster when I use this service. Trying to get an appointment via the phone is not easy as the phone lines are always busy. With ZocDoc I can view the day and time he will be available and book appointment accordingly. Also get an appointment reminder from ZocDoc which is very helpful.
What he is failing to mention in the last review comment is that they were only able to implement this illegal activity in 13 states because they were blocked by regulators since getting kickbacks for medical referrals is against the law in most states and specifically in the state of New York. And if they are not allowed to do so in NY they wont be able to do so anywhere in the US. What doctors need to do is to hire an attorney and sue the company for violating the anti-kickback statute. The interesting point is that if you are a doctor who is paying zocdoc for referrals, you are violating the law as well, which could carry a fine of $100,000.00 and prison time. Zocdoc is able to pay this fine, which is why they are breaking the law, but if you are a physician, think about the penalty before participating in this illegal activity.
We take compliance with federal and state laws, including New York’s, seriously. For more details, read our FAQ (https://www.zocdoc.com/about/pricingupdate/ny/) and CEO blog post (https://www.zocdoc.com/about/news/update-federal-healthcare-programs/). - The Zocdoc Service Team
My daughter was under dr l'salata's care for months. He was somewhat stumped about her issue and to cover all his bases he requested a MRI, X-ray and finally a neurologist to perform an emg test. We were scheduled for emg test on Monday morning 11am at Weil Cornell medical group but on Wednesday before I received a call to inform me dr l'salata no longer accepts insurance. What?! My daughter's appointment is now cancelled after we arranged Holiday weekend around this confirmed appointment. Karen from Brooklyn office says we'll all I can say is I'm sorry! That unfortunately is unacceptable dr. L'salata office should have notified his patients that are under his care with said insurance! I'm hoping this is a blessing in disguise for my daughter and she gets a doctor who cares about his patients. Dr l'salata stinks! Pee u!

Answer: Hello Mark. Zocdoc offers a closed-loop review system that allows patients to share their experiences after being seen for an appointment booked on Zocdoc. These reviews can be found on each individual provider's Zocdoc profile. You can search for a provider at https://www.zocdoc.com/. Please let us know if we can help you find the care that you need or if there is a different set of reviews that you are trying to access at this time. You can reach our service team at (855)962-3621.
Answer: Hi Sandra, we hope that you were able to get the care that you were looking for. At Zocdoc, we are not able to offer any medical advice or guidance so we recommend you contact your doctor directly if you need to ever verify they will be able to provide the treatment you are looking for. Feel free to reach out to the Zocdoc team at (855) 962-3621 or service@zocdoc.com if there is anything we can do to help you find the care that you need.
Answer: Yes, prices appear to be around $44-180 now. Offices get charged this even for cancellations, no-shows, and fake bookings. Zocdoc has no built in protections to negate this type of booking behaviors. Why would they when they profit off it? Zocdoc also prohibits practices from talking about this fee as it violates their "community standards."
Answer: Hello Swetha. Thanks for reaching out. We'd love to help you find a doctor and book an appointment right online. If you go to www.Zocdoc.com, you can search for doctors by specialty, location, and insurance. You'll be able to see a list of doctors and their availability. Once you select a doctor, you can choose the time that is best for you. Once you complete the booking process, the doctor will receive your appointment information and confirm your appointment via email. This is completely free for you as a patient. Please give us a call at (855) 962-3621 if you need help with this or anything else!
Answer: Hi Amanda! That depends on the doctor's office! Every provider is different, so it would be best to get in touch with them about specific pricing information. Give us a call at 855-962-3621 if you have any other questions. In health, Mary M. Zocdoc Service Team
Answer: Hi Mallory! Thanks for your question! You can see a provider's reviews by viewing the full profile and scrolling down. Zocdoc has a rating of 2.6 stars from 1,426 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Zocdoc most frequently mention doctors office, insurance company and new patient. Zocdoc ranks 1st among Doctor Reviews sites.
Hi Rachel,
I am so sorry for the trouble you experienced with this office! We do require doctors to update and guarantee the accuracy of their insurance listings as they appear on Zocdoc. This is due to the fact that insurance plans and networks are constantly changing and insurance carriers’ databases are often outdated, so we find that holding providers responsible for updating this information offers the most reliable information for our patients.
Since we require providers to post accurate insurance information on their profiles, in the event that a patient is not given an in-network experience after selecting an insurance plan that is listed as in-network on a provider’s profile, our Service Team works diligently with that provider’s office to advocate on behalf of the patient and ensure that providers are honoring their agreement with Zocdoc to list accurate information.
We have contacted this provider’s office to clear up the confusion for your particular case. We’re happy to review next steps if you’re still experiencing any issues! Please don’t hesitate to reach out to our Service Team, we’re more than happy to assist!

Mary M.
