Not only is it easier to use than your insurance company provided directory but they are very dedicated to your experience. I've had two instances where the doctor didn't live up to my standards and I received a personal call and an email from a rep from Zoc Doc.
Why would anyone pay $1800 a year plus 80 an appointment for a service that doesn't even credential potential patients enough to ensure they are choosing the actual insurance they have? Not to mention the staff isn't on the same page. One saying getting refunded for this shouldn't be an issue and the next saying to bad tough luck. I would just do google ads... The system is awful.
Went to ZocDoc to cancel an appointment and could not find a way to do it. Finally sent an e-mail and made a call. ZocDoc also is overly rigid in its time allocations. Once you state the purpose of your visit, you are locked into time slots that have the minutes allocated for that purpose. It seems that the whole operation is ZocDoc-focused, not patient-focused. ZocDoc also seems not to be coordinated with the patient portal that Valley operates. I think I can make an appointment on either system, but the other system won't know about it. I'm not sure, though, because I have used each system only a few times. Overall, I am not at all impressed with ZocDoc. It could disappear and I would not miss it.
Hi James,
We are so sorry for any confusion! You can absolutely cancel an appointment you booked through ZocDoc. We are a patients first company, so please give us a call at (855) 962-3621 if you are having any trouble.

Everything is online now. Why shouldn't doctor appointments be? I wish all of my doctors used this method of making an appointment or cancelling it. I loathe making phone calls this day in age. And I'm not even a young person... I am almost 60 years old... but I keep up with technology and love it!
I had no problem with this site other than the reminders by text. I don't use texting nor am I signed up for it with my cell provider. Would rather just receive reminders by phone. That is only thing I tried to unsubscribe to
Hi Richard,
Thanks for your feedback! If you need any help adjusting your notification settings, just give us a call at (855) 962-3621. We would be happy to help.

Login to ZocDoc and make an appointment today with a Doctor who will accept your insurance without all the phone calls and hassles.
ZocDoc will remind you about your appointment so you cannot miss it by mistake.
Great tool for anyone who is busy!
ZocDoc has always provided me with excellent service. Arranging for physician appointments on my computer at my convenience is great compared to the alternative -- being on hold trying to get an appointment. And it always works. Rescheduling and/or cancelling an appointment is just as easy and convenient.
Seems to be a good way to go as saves time sitting on the phone waiting as can schedule appointments with this service. They also send you reminders of appointments & give you option of keeping or rescheduling so I think its a positive service to use.
I loved using ZocDoc. It's easy to find doctors, make appointments that fit my schedule and fill out all of my paperwork online. I also now have a list of providers I can use when I need to see a specialist but don't have any personal recommendations.
ZocDoc is a great website to look for physicians around your area that goes along with your insurance. You can sign up for appointments online and you get a confirmation either online or by phone. Also, you can search for physicians and see their ratings. So far I found my gastroenterologist and dentist in minutes.
I was skeptical of using the site although it looked professional.
But I was able to find and book a dermatologist in my neighborhood.
The appointment went off without a hitch and I'll use the site again.
Particularly helpful is the ability to sort by insurance carrier.
A good website for finding and booking doctors.
My GP's practice doesn't accept call in appointments and requires patients to use this service. It seems like it would be great to schedule a regular, routine visit. However, that was not what I needed. I didn't need to visit the doctor. I only needed a quick appointment for a blood-draw. There's no option for that on this site. So, I had to schedule a regular doctor's appointment and tie everyone up for 30 minutes for a simple 5 minute blood-draw. I was not impressed.
I have used ZonDoc on 2 occasions for a similar situation. My first experience with the medical provider' assistant was great, but never saw the doctor. It was communicated to me that I needed surgery with no other choice, but I could not speak with the doctor unless a scheduled a surgical procedure and then only speak just before I went into surgery. I wrote a constructive tough review and ZonDoc reached out to me immediately by phone and email. Your customer service staff was appalled that a medical provider acted this way. I felt that someone cared and was concerned about a ZonDoc's business practices. Made an appointment via ZonDoc with another provider in a different city and all went well. As I find myself in different cities at times. ZonDoc is my go to resource. Thank you ZonDoc
Found the type of doc easily.
Found one in my network.
Booked an appointment easily.
Filled out most paperwork ahead of time.
Little wait time once at office.
I would (and did) recommend zocdoc to my friends.
It is convenient for making appointments. However, I think Doctor's office staff should see not only schedule date but also patient's request or comment.
I mentioned to them that my purpose of visit was for flu shot in comment.
When I visited I was told that all flu shots were out and had to come back again.
If they saw my comment, they could contact me to reschedule, avoiding to visit 2 times.
I even billed for 2nd visits for facilitating fee.
Fortunately my insurance was covered for that but still it didn't make sense to me to be billed for lacking their attention.
ZocDoc Rep called the doctor's office to solve the issue for me. It was kind of her.

ZocDoc is amazing. I recommend it to people all the time; family, friends, colleagues. I have found really great doctors and have been able to get in right away, which is probably my favorite thing about zocdoc.
I had a terrible experience with an absurdly long wait time (the opposite of Zocdoc's ratings), one other patient walked out so I told the receptionist I had to go back to work, then left a negative review, but it never posted, not only that, the doctor's office claimed they canceled the appointment.
Then I decided to cross check Zocdoc doctors with a google search and found an entirely different (and honest) set of reviews. Zocdoc is gaming the system because doctors pay them for referring patients so it's a scam.
Hi there Rob and thank you for letting us know. We are sorry to hear your appointment was canceled and your review was not posted. Unlike other services, we have a closed-loop review system with publicly available guidelines that prevent any sort of nonverified reviews to be posted. If you give us a call at 855-962-3621 we would be happy to look into this and answer any questions you may have.
I booked an appointment and the doctor called the next day to tell me that day was not actually available. The ZocDoc calendar and the office calendar were not synced yet. No big deal... I changed my appointment date. Next thing I know I receive an e-mail from a ZocDoc rep stating he saw I had been rescheduled and wanted to find out what happened. I sent him a quick e-mail explaining and immediately he replied with his apologies and a $5 Amazon gift card for my trouble. I never expected to be contacted by ZocDoc seeing I didn't think it was a huge issue but the fact that they did contact me shows how much emphasis they put on customer service within their company. Will continue to use ZocDoc
ZocDoc has been convenient for booking appointments online, however I don't believe their doctor ratings are accurate. I visited a doctor that had 4 stars on ZocDoc and had a terrible experience. I did more research on this doctor after the visit and several other patients had very poor experiences similar to mine. Most other sites with a rating system gave this doctor 2 stars at best. I will still use ZocDoc to book appointments but I won't rely on the doctor ratings.
Hi Lindsey,
We are terribly sorry for your poor experience with this office. We definitely want to make sure your voice is heard! Please give us a call at (855) 962-3621 if you need any help posting a review for this office.

I would not recommend this service. I made an appointment that got moved without even a phone call. Their HR person tried to appease the issue with a $5 Amazon gift card, but apparently there are no internal controls to ensure that doctors are available when the system says they are. I made another appointment for an available time at a different near-by doctor's office. But no one from the office bothered to call me and tell me that the doctor was not in. I had already taken off of work and was on my way. Lucky that I called to make sure they took my insurance. When I asked them why they had the time available online, they just said, "oh, we're sorry. How about Thursday (2 days later!). - apparently syncing calendars is too difficult for ZocDoc.
Answer: Hello Mark. Zocdoc offers a closed-loop review system that allows patients to share their experiences after being seen for an appointment booked on Zocdoc. These reviews can be found on each individual provider's Zocdoc profile. You can search for a provider at https://www.zocdoc.com/. Please let us know if we can help you find the care that you need or if there is a different set of reviews that you are trying to access at this time. You can reach our service team at (855)962-3621.
Answer: Hi Sandra, we hope that you were able to get the care that you were looking for. At Zocdoc, we are not able to offer any medical advice or guidance so we recommend you contact your doctor directly if you need to ever verify they will be able to provide the treatment you are looking for. Feel free to reach out to the Zocdoc team at (855) 962-3621 or service@zocdoc.com if there is anything we can do to help you find the care that you need.
Answer: Yes, prices appear to be around $44-180 now. Offices get charged this even for cancellations, no-shows, and fake bookings. Zocdoc has no built in protections to negate this type of booking behaviors. Why would they when they profit off it? Zocdoc also prohibits practices from talking about this fee as it violates their "community standards."
Answer: Hello Swetha. Thanks for reaching out. We'd love to help you find a doctor and book an appointment right online. If you go to www.Zocdoc.com, you can search for doctors by specialty, location, and insurance. You'll be able to see a list of doctors and their availability. Once you select a doctor, you can choose the time that is best for you. Once you complete the booking process, the doctor will receive your appointment information and confirm your appointment via email. This is completely free for you as a patient. Please give us a call at (855) 962-3621 if you need help with this or anything else!
Answer: Hi Amanda! That depends on the doctor's office! Every provider is different, so it would be best to get in touch with them about specific pricing information. Give us a call at 855-962-3621 if you have any other questions. In health, Mary M. Zocdoc Service Team
Answer: Hi Mallory! Thanks for your question! You can see a provider's reviews by viewing the full profile and scrolling down. All of the reviews will be listed there toward the left side of the page. Give us a call at (855) 962-3621 if you are having any trouble! In health, Mary M. Zocdoc Service Team
Zocdoc has a rating of 2.6 stars from 1,426 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Zocdoc most frequently mention doctors office, insurance company and new patient. Zocdoc ranks 1st among Doctor Reviews sites.
Patients are responsible for selecting their insurance while booking on Zocdoc, and sometimes mistakes are made. If a patient is booking out-of-network, our platform has warnings in place alerting them to that fact prior to booking but some will choose to book anyway because they want to see the provider they have selected on Zocdoc despite their insurance status. Please give us a call at (866) 962-3621 if you would like to discuss confusion over any charges your account has incurred. - The Zocdoc Service Team
