Monday of this week, July 12th, just color me happy. I received my new ZAD80CE Cedar/Rosewood Acoustic Electric w/the "AURA" Pro Series electronics and am truly in love; in essence the quality of the workmanship is undeniable.
Straight out of the box it already blends well-defined and clear higher notes with warm and even tones that I believe will only improve with age.
The guitar arrived set up very well. Happy with string height, the neck feels comfortable, plays like a dream and the venetian cutaway allows good access to the upper frets. The Fishman AURA system is impressive with imaging, a transducer system, equalizer; kind of mind blowing. The built-in tuner is also a very handy feature. The guitar finish is perfect. The abalone trim is beautiful. The accompanying documentation is exactly what you want. In short, I just couldn't be happier. I think I've purchased what will one day become a vintage classic.

Qualifier:
I've been learning/playing for about 3 years. I started this journey late in life at 59. But, I'm a bit obsessive about playing. That is, I play every day for 3-5hrs. I split this up into two sessions a day (much to the chagrin of my wife).
How well do I play? I would guess that I'm a somewhat seasoned beginner. I have about 20 songs in my play book that I can play in what I call "phase 3". For reference:
Phase 1 = Dude, I have no idea what you're trying to play!
Phase 2 = Yeah, I think I hear a song in there somewhere.
Phase 3 = Oh, I know that song. Sounds good. Don't quit your day job.
Phase 4 = WOW! That is awesome! (nothing I play is here).

What other acoustic guitars do I play?
Taylor 614ce Builders Edition

The ZAD20:
Ordering: Simple online process.
Delivery: Delayed due to pandemic.
Zager communication: Excellent. Kept me updated throughout the process.
Arrival: Arrived in Excellent condition.
Excellent hard case with the bonus of an onboard Hygrometer Thermometer built into case.

First impressions:
Super clean flawless finish.
Great looks.
Needed a quick tuning (expected).
Big bold sound similar to my Taylor.
Action is slightly higher than my Taylor as you move up the fretboard.
But, I expect as the guitar cures, action will improve with time.
And, in all fairness, I had a custom setup done on the Taylor.

Conclusion:
Would I recommend a Zager? Yup.
At this early stage, I'm very pleased with Zager and this product.
Looking forward to playing it much more in the coming weeks.
Bang for the buck? I don't think you can beat this. Look, I'm an old dude with "capital" to work with.
Over the last several years I've purchased a number of higher end guitars (electric and acoustic).
The idea of the Zager was to have a lower cost guitar that I could take with me without having to handcuff it to my wrist.
What I feel like I got with the Zager is lower cost for sure but, also a much higher-end product than I expected. So, it looks like I'll be buying handcuffs anyway!
I really don't think you can go wrong with a Zager in your stable or, as a primary.

So I returned my Zad900ce. Prior to ordering it I texted back and forth with Dennis Jr. Since I'm new to guitar the esthetics of the guitar are just as important to me as the sound. I was told the the guitar I would receive was serial #******* I had them send me some photos of the exact guitar and they even provided a video of Denny senior playing it. Unfortunately when it arrived it was in fact a different guitar #*******. It had a bad case of grain runout. When I called to find out what was up I was informed that #******* had an issue with the bracing and could not be satisfactory repaired. They did agree to replace the guitar with one that would meet my approval. Unfortunately they were back ordered. After many months and several reminders I sent it back for a refund. I should also point out that during this time I did a little research and I don't believe that they are in fact mad in the USA but rather in Indonesia. Very disappointed.

I've been playing for 48 years and have always wanted a Martin. When I was ready to mobe up, i read about Zager Guitars. I decided to buy one. BEST DAMN DECISION OF MY LIFE! The guitar I purchased was absolutely gorgeous! The workmanship, the tone, the playability were outstanding!

Great company, quality instruments. Customer service goes above and beyond. Quick shipping. I ordered a guitar for my daughter from Zager Guitars. I have read about Zagers for several years and wanted to find out if they really lived up to there reputation. The guitar, a ZAD50CE Acoustic Electric African Mahogany arrived. I must say it was a beautiful instrument out of the box. After a bit of string stretching and tuning I spent a few hours with it. Wow! What a delightful guitar to play. It plays very easily with a rich, resonance that is rare to find. The workmanship is excellent. My daughter is going to love it. She leads music at her church. This new Zager will be perfect for her.

Never bought a guitar unseen/unplayed, but Zager made it easy with their free ship/free return policy. I ended up with the best guitar I've owned in 50 years!

Zager Guitars number one goal, in my experience, is to make sure the customer is happy! The Guitars are as advertised. They play as smooth as silk or as some might say, like butter. The real test was after playing for 3 hours at night and then the next morning playing again for a while and no finger soreness. No buzz in the strings, barre chords are easy to hold and everyone wants to try that new guitar. Great job Zagers!

I can't express enough my appreciation of the great service I received when I ordered my Zager ZAD20-E. Denny Sr & Dennis Jr both went above and beyond expectations with excellent communications and extra effort to deliver to my tight schedule.

I ordered a custom guitar from Zager Guitars for my 60th birthday which was on back order due to shipping delays of parts and materials. The customer service staff stayed in touch with me frequently during the process and I received the finished product this week! The sound is amazing and so much easier to play due to how they describe the extra fretboard bracing.

I was diagnosed with lupus in 2012. As the disease progressed, i was forced to give up guitar due to hand and joint pain. After 6 years of not playing, I heard about Zager guitars and their ez play concept. I took a chance and ordered a 50 cutaway acoustic electric. Not only was it the easiest acoustic i have ever played... it was also the best sounding. One year later and i am playing 3 to 4 times a week or more. I would recommend this company and their products to anyone. I cannot speak to their return process as i have never had a single problem with their products. Thank you Denny Zager. P.s. I could not locate my receipt for my purchase (over 1 year ago.) i have included a pic of the inside of the guitar showing the serial and model numbers. I really do own this guitar and i am the original purchaser.

I had to wait to receive my guitar due to Covid but I received my Zager guitar in June 2021 and could not be happier. The customer service was especially good. They kept in touch with me frequently and provided special pricing as well as including accessories that are amazing. If you want a guitar that plays even better than it looks than please choose a Zager. Friends who saw my guitar immediately asked to see it and were struck by the exquisite craftsmanship and rich tones. They all asked for contact information so they could order their own. I am only a novice player but this guitar will surely be a legacy.

As advertised! This is by far the easiest guitar I have ever played. The fit and finish is fabulous. Easily as good as Taylor, Gibson, Martin.
The neck is smooth as silk, the fretboard and spacing is as if they read my mind, so intuitive. This makes my trusty Taylor seem clunky and requiring much more effort. Well done Zager!

I've been a Zager fan since back in the 60's. However, I never played his guitars until about 5 yrs ago. My first ZAD50 was a fantastic guitar. It played well, came tuned and setup right in the box and the premium case took it through a few trips with ZERO issues both by air and train. I have a few old injuries in my left hand and I could only play my Taylor for about 45 min before I just couldn't grip anymore. I can play my Zager for hours... NO LIE. I just bought a ZAD900CE OM. What a guitar! The feel and playability is above amazing. The sound is rich and the craftsmanship was flawless. I don't know how they put in all those extra little things, but they do and it's not cheap stuff either. It's just as high quality as their guitars. I have some Taylor 214s to sell now. Kudos Denny! I'll have this guitar in the year 2525 dude!

What a surprise I had when I found a Zager box outside my door. Like a little boy at Christmas I brought the box inside and begin slowly unpacking it. The anticipation was high. I opened the very nice, high quality case and found a beautifully made musical instrument. After admiring it for awhile I sat down and played it. I couldn't believed how much better it sounds and how much easier it is to play compared to the guitar I had been using for the past few months. I wish I could have started out on this Zager instrument. I waited a long time to get it in my hands but it is worth the wait and the price. Thank you Zager Guitars for this work of art.

My son said he was interested in playing a guitar now. He wants my old one. I can't do that to him. I'm thinking about buying my son a new Zager guitar. He was worried about not being able to play because he is a big man with large fingers. He will not have that problem with a Zager guitar like he would with my other guitar.

My new guitar is beautiful, looks great, plays great and sounds awesome. Great customer service too. Highly recommended!

Yay, my guitar arrived this evening! I had been checking my email daily for the shipping notice from FedEx but never got it so was really surprised when it arrived. It is a beautiful guitar--all I expected and more! I had been working outside most of the day, using pliers to take down a chain link fence. When I started to play, both hands started cramping so I couldn't even enjoy it. I'm just sending this email to let you know that I got it and to thank you for the extras you included with my guitar. The packaging was great and it arrived undamaged. Fast forward one day... Man, this guitar plays nice! I'm no virtuoso by a long shot but I can make all the chords with ease. And the sound! I took it to church this evening to show off to a few of my friends. They were blown away, too! One plays a Martin and the other an Ovation. They said that my Opera model ZAD80CE sounded much better than theirs. I could not believe the sound projection and it wasn't even plugged in! Both of them played my guitar and loved the action. The tone stayed true and buzz-free all the way up the neck. One of them told me that he played several hammer-ons and pull-offs and could hear every one of them distinctly. I love this guitar! Thank you Mr. Zager and all of your employees. I'm going to recommend you to all my guitar playing friends and family.

I purchased a Zager ZAD-50CE acoustic/electric guitar a few weeks ago. It is great! I currently have a Martin D-28 and an Ovation Legend, but the Zager is the one I am playing almost all the time. It plays and sounds great, and I also have to say that the company is the easiest to deal with I have ever seen. I highly recommend them and their product.

I have purchased two Zager guitars in the last few years, the most recent being the ZAD900CE. The quality of the guitars is excellent, as is the support from the company. I recently had a problem with the case (which is high quality, but was damaged during shipping). Zager handled the issue immediately, at no cost to me, and in the most friendly way. I can't recommend them enough. They are the real deal.

After 2 attempts at learning guitar, I finally decided to give it a third try during the pandemic. I have fairly thick hands and fingers. Ultimately, I did extensive research and discovered Zager Guitars. I live under the motto "go big or go home", and as a result, I purchased the 50th Anniversary Edition. I couldn't be happier! What a joy to play, and sounds amazing!. My instructor agrees. I would say it makes me sound better and allows me to perform much easier than I should as a beginner due to its playability. I can only imagine what an aficionado would sound like! In fact, I loved the full size so much, I recently purchased a travel size in order to keep my new skills and calluses in good condition since I travel extensively.

In addition, the responsiveness and support from the Zager team is really quite impressive. In a time when customer service is often a forgotten element, the Zager service has been some of the best I have seen in years!

WOW,, I was looking for a replacement guitar for a Taylor I gifted to my son. I have owned Taylors, Gibsons, Ibanez, fenders. And ovations, and Strived to own a Martin D-28 V. The workmanship on this guitar is truly amazing. The curly maple binding contrasting with the beautiful rosewood back and sides and the gorgeous tobacco burst top, and fabulous inlay, is a sight to behold. The satin finish neck is fast and it is easy to play. It has features I would expect on a way more expensive guitar. It arrived after just a couple of days and when i took it out of the box it was in tune. The first chord I played was fabulous. I was expecting a cadillac and got a ferrari. I couldn`t be happier.
