The company's reputation is significantly marred by widespread customer dissatisfaction, primarily concerning its review management practices and aggressive advertising tactics. Many users express frustration over hidden reviews, perceived extortion for advertising, and a lack of genuine customer support. Positive aspects are scarce, with some customers appreciating the platform's potential for connecting with local businesses. However, the overwhelming sentiment reveals a distrust in the company's ethics and practices, leading to calls for accountability and transparency. Overall, the feedback indicates a critical need for Yelp to address these serious concerns to rebuild trust among its users.

1) I never asked to be on Yelp, asked them to remove my listing they denied that request. I'm not even a brick and mortar, I work remotely. They told me they can not remove listings. This is false, as I'm a developer and honestly they can take control and manipulate, remove, unhide and do anything they need to via their CMS. I know this because I created a new listing, it was fine, then I asked them to remove my others and they merged them together then removed the other listings, so they are absolutely full of it. Lies.
2) Someone left a false review, even with proof it was false Yelp denied removing it. It got to the point where I had to threaten them with a lawsuit and they still didn't remove it. It was shortly after that they blocked me from being able to edit my profile. They also told me and I have all this consultation via email if any lawyers are interested, that they could not remove it because it did not violate any of their policies. Once again I proved this wrong by posting a fake review, one that fell within all policies and was properly worded. The system accepted the review, posted it to the company, the company responded and 3 days later it was removed. Why they can't remove the fake one from my listing is still a mystery, hmmm, I wonder. More lies.
3) I have 3 legitimate reviews, Yelp hid all 3 of them claiming they were "asked for" which is also not true. I did share with colleagues and clients and friends the issue I was having with the false review and how horrible a service Yelp is, so they may have gone to my unsolicited Yelp listing to post those reviews to share honest insight, but they were not asked for by me nor did I ever suggest they do that. Just another way Yelp proved they are out to damage my business. As well shows how flawed their "bot" is when it comes to filtering reviews. As well I'm sure it can be proven simply by looking at how the system is coded that they have control over these as well and are simply denying it to be rude. And they wonder why I want to sue them.
I've been in consultation about all these issues with Yelp sin Feb 11th. 2022. Still, no real resolutions have been made, being told they unlocked things, yet finding I still can't edit certain aspects of the listing. It's a false representation of my business and still supports the false review and has hidden 3 legitimate reviews.
Yelp is such a sad service with really bad customer service.
At any point, avoided using Yelp, if your business ends up on there don't claim it, just ignore it. If you own any Yelp stock sell it, this company is going down soon enough. ;)
Rented several cars from Turo and for the most part with the exception of my last rental the transaction was ok. The cars have never been clean when I picked them up and actual had a couple of mechanical issues such as a dead battery & leaking tire but decently priced. The big problem why I will never rent from the again and warn people is the fact that I was overcharged for tolls which amounted to twice my rental and when I disputed the charge with them they " reviewed it " by just charging me. There is not a person to speak with or hotline absolutely nothing. Rent at your own risk!
I was scammed by YELP itself!
Stay away!
Do NOT do business with YELP!
Do not fall for their phone calls.
I have at guy name joe smith from yelp offered me at 15 calls in one week I spend $150 dollars for nothing not even one call disappointed
The fact that Yelp FORCES businesses to have a review page (whether you choose to have an account with them or not) but doesn't have a page of their own for people to write reviews is telling. YELP is the WORST review site out there. Negative reviews happen however, my business received an extremely threatening review filled with colorful language, when reported, I got a generated email back saying "We allow reviewers to tell their stories in their own words, which may include strong language or words we wouldn't personally choose. If a review appears to meet our guidelines and reflect the user's personal experience and opinions, it is our policy to let the user stand behind their review." DO NOT USE. This is a despicable practice to "stand by" people like this. YELP is a disgusting company that only believes the "customer is always right" further fueling our Consumer Karens of the world.
Don't let any Yelp reps try to get you to sign up for anything if you put a free profile up. They will call and try to give a credit amount to Try their upgraded service then trick you into getting charged monthly. We acquired absolutely no new business calls or customers what so ever. The promises are fake and produced nothing beneficial. When we tried to cancel Before the credit amount was used up(as we were directed to do) they proceeded to keep trying to charge our bank card several times to the point that we actually received a call from our bank and had to get a new card. Yelp is nothing more than a professional money scam operation. Don't make the same mistake we did and Please, Please read all the recent reviews everywhere about Yelp before you waste your time and hard earned money on their trickery scam.
I got around 12 five-star reviews from my patients and only two bad and fake reviews of profiles created to post that review Yelp deleted *did not recommend and hide) over ten good reviews and left only one good and two bad They started to harass me with phone calls and emails offering to improve my image for $$$$
I received a free trial for there services well some of there services. Couldn't put my company logo on the site with out paying more money. So just tell it go. Then the following month started getting charges from them on my credit card fist for over $30.00. Them over hundreds of dollars. No customer service number to call no explanation of why I was charged or even informed of the charge.
Yelp picks and chooses which reviews/responses they will post. Very racial bias and posts untrue reviews.
I signed up for Yelp Biz for my newly formed business, with the $300. Rebate in free promotional Clicks that they offer. Yelp is a Pay-Per-Click advertising business. People can click your business, never contact your business, and you will Still be charged. I went through the $300 in about 4-days. So - Over $1300. And 3 months later Still no Jobs. Yes, a few phone call estimates, but nothing converted. So we canceled Yelp Biz after 3 months - and Yelp Continued to Charge my credit card even after I canceled smh. I had to go through my bank to place a stop payment or Yelp would Charge my card into Infinity. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!
As a licensed, bonded and insured contractor. Yelp is a TOTAL waste of time, money and resources. We could hire a staff to answer and respond to Yelp Leeds and not show enough revenue to justify the advertising expense. Residential non-clients don't have a budget but, want contractors to give free estimates for driving, measuring, assessing, consulting and writing detailed proposals. Never to hear a response.
This company has a contract with visa, Visa will automatically provide yelp the card numbers of any other accounts you own to yelp and they will charge your accounts. This company is a FRAUD!
They take down customers' reviews if you don't pay for their ads! Pay per click is outrageous $3.15
Yelp has absolutely zero moral compass. I signed up for an account, clicked accept on the legalese BS and then realized they are charging me $150 per month. I canceled the account after I became aware of the ridiculous fee, and they said because I sent the cancellation email at the end of the month, that I owed for one more month.
They claimed it was a self-service account and I should have managed it.
Last summer they had a person call me to help set up my page for my 'self-serve' account, but she never contacted me during the appointment times she arranged.
After wasting more than an hour with their 'customer success team' today, they refused to do the common sense thing and cancel this blatant money grab for another $150 saying they could not help.
Unbelievably poor and frankly dirty tactics.
Further, the three offers of credits that have been sent to me since I canceled, totalling $700, to 'come back' can not be applied because I canceled!?
We are a small, family owned business, we are inundated with calls during peak times about how Yelp can help us. They can help us by leaving us alone. We have spoken to corporate and were promised we would not get any more calls. Then Dustin Davis calls us today and is extremely rude. When I hung up on him because he wouldn't take no for an answer, he had the nerve to call me back and laugh at me. Yelp has not grown our business, WE HAVE!
They will charge you an unbelievably high fee for advertisement after offering you to get your business posted for a free month of service the same day they charged my card over 300 dollars for what they said was advertising and I never even generated one lead not even one lead. Then they charged me another $900 and it would have been more but it was all the money i had in my business account. Because of yelp I am now unable to continue doing business because of the fraudulent charges they stole from my account.
I listed by business on Yelp, I started getting bombarded by calls from them. On the 5th calls I decided to answer and see what they want. The sales rep name NICOLE HIRATA told me how an Ad can help my business get leads and she is willing to show me how by setting up a testing service for me for one week to see how many leads will be generated. She emphasized that i will not be charged since i mentioned that i cannot afford their service as a new small business owner. She mentioned a $900 ad credit that will be added to my account and if i am going to be charged it will be after we discussed the following week to see it it's going to work or not. I agree and set up. To my surprise, this crooks charged my account $153.56 5 days later before the set time she was suppose to call me. Once i notice the charges, I called Nicole and guess what she refused to answer her line. I called customer service and they sent me a form to complete to request for refund. I did and 5 days later got an email from them saying no refund is due to me and they refused to refund my hard earned money. New small business owner please do not fall victim of this modern day fraudsters.
I was scammed out of $184! Constantly told Yelp that I did not want thier services, and was offered a Free promotion. Then charged out of nowhere.
YELP is one of the worst companies on earth. Here is an example of how worthless YELP is and how YELP spreads garbage. This person's review was allowed to stay posted to our YELP business page. Wilkinson Wine Cellar LLC has no record of an order from anyone with the name JAMES G from Boca Grande, Florida. This person is fraudulently describing a purchase made by another person (suspected LYNDA VIEHA G), not themselves. The actual customer also violated our "Terms of Service" three times within a single order. When a customer demands that a shipment of wine occur outside of the temperature ranges, we guarantee, they accept 100% of the risk for the condition of the product. It is a violation of our service to ask for any type of refund, return, or adjustment to their order. We cannot be responsible for customers having their orders shipped during times of the year that would absolutely damage their wine. This person, James G from Boca Grande, Florida also initially sent a harassing and threatening email in response to our professional email response concerning the issue. These types of fraudulent reviews and customer behavior, should not be acceptable on Yelp. Please read below our complete email response to James G and Lynda Vieha G of Placida, Florida. We plan to make an example of their extremely poor behavior and of customers that we DO NOT WANT on our website. James and Lynda have also been reported and added to a number of merchant databases of those people identified as undesirable customers. Given the nature of the pathetic and repulsive platform of YELP, we will "socialize" our seller experience on our website where you will have no opportunity to respond or contradict our opinions.
Yelp is a scam my account manager "Toby"
Is a true manipulator and dishonest self serving man.
Yelp will not render help to your business.
We go to them as honest small businesses looking to serve our communities and they take our desire to be great in our communities as a opportunity to gain financially. It's horrific to say the least.
I would us obscenities to further describe my anger but I won't allow them to disturb my positivity.
The universe will definitely provide vengeance
Run people Run…
