“Great resource for agents”

Most of my clients come to me pretty much knowing the areas they want to look into and why but occasionally I'll get a transfer client from out of state and I'll send over some neighborhood scout links as a qualifier. Super helpful. Thanks for being great!

“These jerks ripped me off for $300.”

Nunya B.

Needed one report. I subscribed and tried to cancel, but couldn't figure out how. Then life happened, and I forgot. For 6 months. I only logged into this website once, but they kept charging me $50 / month, like clockwork. When I asked for even a partial refund, the response was terse and insensitive. Every business in the world with this billing model needs to grow up. It is unethical to continue charging someone month after month when they aren't using your service. If I don't login, don't bill me. It is that simple.

I live in Moore in South Carolina and it is not safe there been several shootings, fires, and people getting first-class rides from ambulances. Additionally, there are gang activities and constant loud music I plan on moving but I hate when sites like this have inaccurate information that will lure people into renting/buying a place only to have their safety and health at risk here.

Neighborhood Scout is very eager to make people paranoid in terms of crime and costs of living. And Alex V. and Brenda S. Has the most faked and biased reviews that it's not even close to being believable. Why should I give them my money if I have to pay for it again, just to read their fake statistics? This just screams corporate greed, and other reviewers were right about their shady practices, including their lack of accurate information and making people overly worried. I had cousins who lived in Kissimmee and they weren't even victims of crime whatsoever. Neighborhood Scout is a total farce and only wants your money for their fake statistics.

The report from Neighborhood Scout is completely misleading!
It is extremely political!

I really like to give Neighborhood Scout a -5 stars, but this review does not that choice!
It ranks a better, more expensive and least crime neighborhood worse than an cheap
And more crime ( from a police report, a person be shot to death in front of a house's garage
Entrance! Of a cheap Pathercreek commuity of Frisco tx sevral years ago).

I can tell you there is no crime here. It's an expensive resort town I have been in for 50 years. No one I know, no one in my large parish, has ever been assaulted.

According to scout, every city is the worst in the nation. Ask for resident reviews for the truth. I have looked to purchase a home with an open mind in location, looking from the west coast to the east coast. I have looked at over a thousand homes easy. If you read 1 review about a neighborhood you read them all. Every city is the worst in the nation lmao. I have compared Neighborhood scout to homeowners in the same locations and found these people lived here their whole life or many years and love their town. Crime? Yes. Every place has crime that's life. I suggest you go on Google Earth and place yourself on street view. You can walk through the neighborhood and see what the houses look like and how they are kept up. If your neighbor has a beat up sofa sitting on the porch and trash in their yard, you might want to look further,... I mean unless you have a beat up sofa on your porch, a broke down car and dirty diapers on the lawn. The majority of the homes I have looked at have well kept up yards, some immaculate, but somehow are terrible places to live. Look. If you're in the habit of going to dive bars and staying out until 2am, expect trouble. If you live a nice life and have morals you're less likely to have trouble. That's just common sense a monkey can figure out.

Just purchased this garbage report for $29 - my money was not wasted if I can warn YOU against buying it and you SAVE YOUR MONEY. This report is a joke at best and at worse a well-designed scam! I got far better information on my own. The report was very generalized and did not represent the specific neighborhood I was interested in (not even close). Awful waste of money so SAVE YOURS!

Someone pointed out neighborhoodscout's stats on our small town which is as close to "Mayberrry" as you will ever see. We rated a 2 (horrible according to the site.) I honestly cannot recall the last violent crime that happened in our county. Then I found your site. From the other reviews, it is obvious that neghborhoodscout skews data to get people to enter their credit card information. More fake news, though this time it's on the internet - - and they charge you for it.

The reviews here say it all. The reports are weak and expensive. Paid $50 for first month but used up quota (10 searches) first day; $5 a search! Wasn't aware there is a limit. Seeking property online takes a lot more than 10 tries! Now I'm informed I have to cancel or they'll automatically keep charging me $50 a month. Bad deal!

This site is a total scam. Just like other reviewers on here, they bait and switched the plan I paid for. Paid a full year to get neighborhood appreciation rates. 2 weeks after signing up, they say I have to upgrade plan with a much higher rate. Not to mention, I discovered that the data is very inaccurate. They don't even have a customer service phone number, only email.

Accidentally forgot to cancel my subscription. Contacted them for a refund as soon as I realized within days of the charge (obv didn't use any of the credits). They refused to refund me.

The information on the website was very generic. Full access is not worht it - used it once and didn't find usedul. Now that I'm living in the neighborhood I was researching - the info was wrong. Moreover, I signed up for monthly service (you can buy monthly, quarterly, or yearly) - thinking it was for one month - and they continued to charge me every month after that. Until I noticed several months later. Refused to return the money and wrote me the nastiest customer response I've ever gotten. HORRIBLE! Beware.

This company (Location Inc) provides an online service called NeighborhoodScout.com and has questionable business practices (cancelling services that have been paid for if any user, God forbid, looks at more than 50 unique pages in a month, with no refund provided for services not rendered, and providing absolutely ZERO customer service - you will get NO RESPONSE AT ALL to any emails or calls to their detached/uninterested voicemail). Technically, this policy is mentioned in the Terms when you sign up but, in practice, few people read the Terms that closely (if at all) and almost nobody would assume that a business would have such practices in the first place. End result: this has happened to several people with perfectly reasonable expectations of service (just google it) who pay for a service, get that service taken away (< 24hrs later in some cases), and are left to twist in the wind (with their $$ never to return) because these people don't give a f**k about customers; they're in it for a quick/easy buck for providing barely helpful information to people they'll screw over and see in small claims court (one day). Whether you'd call this a scam, fraud, or ripoff... I'll leave that up to you, but it certainly isn't a reasonable practice and the way its communicated/implemented is no way to build a long-term successful business (not that they'd give a s**t about something like that).

Just wanted one month's subscription for moving, so I ordered the one month's subscription (and I only needed one month). However they reenabled subscription after the month ends, and refused to cancel and the refund even I realized and asked them for cancellation at the start of the second charged month. They said they had notified me about the renewal, but I really did not notice that what should be not apparent enough. Even it is apparent, I suppose they should support cancel/refund in my situation, at least stop at the time I requested!

To my financial dismay I attended a "Real Estate Seminar", one of those by the Flipping Vegas or such as that, with a big cardboard cutup of Scott and spouse if I remember correctly. This was over 2 years ago.
Neighborhood Scout was one of the essential services breathtakingly demonstrated during the seminar. Trying to use the website (at the Pro level) never came within a shadow of the results seen during the seminar.
Apparently no contact or response I have made to Neighborhood Scout has
Ever pierced its collective consciousness.
I CANCELLED my subscription to Neighborhood Scout over a year ago. I only
Just recently learned that last year I was charged again and this year only by strange luck, the charge attempt failed. Naturally I got a email stating I should correct the failing so the charge would go through.
Repeated attempts in recent days to contact anyone at Neighborhood Scout about cancelling the subscription get nowhere.
All HELP, Instructions, and steps researched on how to cancel this subscription do not work.
Even though all past efforts have clearly failed, I have attempted to inform them that I will do a Charge Back if any attempt to use the credit card succeeds.

UPDATE: I finally received 'Confirmation' that my subscription as been cancelled. Sorry to say I cannot verify what magic step on my part (CC to the Fraud Dept of my credit card company?) finally resulted in this acknowledgement.

2nd UPDATE: The day after the last update, to my surprise, I got a phone call. This call was to assure me the subscription was cancelled and that it will not try to charge me again. During this call (all very friendly) I stated that perhaps I was trying EXTRA hard to be sure that was the case because LAST year I also went through the same steps and assurances only to find that I was indeed charged last year and this year was ATTEMPTED to be charged again. I went on to say that if they look at my NeighborhoodScout logins they will see I only logged in last year for the period of trying to get it cancelled and that there was NO login after that until these last few days where again I was trying to get it cancelled. To my SURPRISE the woman on the phone (Ms. Cunningham I think) said she would refund last year's $191 as well. FAIR is FAIR so I wanted to update this review to say that.

I paid for a full subscription with access to income and crime data. One week after paying for a full year subscription the company changed it's business model and I don't have access to the information I paid for unless I upgrade to a PRO plan. The PRO plan costs 10x the price what I just paid. Bate and Switch - stay away, far away

I was unaware there was a 50 reports per month limit until my account was cancelled. I went back and read the fine print and it's accurate. My problem is with the transparency. If there is a 50 reports limit, there should be a prominently displayed countdown on a login page showing me how many reports I have remaining this month. Also, rather than a simple, your account has been cancelled notice, there should be a prior to cancellation notice that IF you continue, you will violate the contract and THEN the account will be cancelled. There was no prior notice, just a cancellation that was unavoidable by the time the notice was received.

My experience with this company was very poor. The information I found on their website is innacurate and very vague, in a lot of instances. They will not refund your money and do not stand behind their product. One of the worst "customer service" experiences I have ever had!

Be careful before you give your credit card details. Unaware users rush through the sign up process by giving credit card details which will be charged significantly every month(although no intimation about the same will be given.

I use this site for real estate investing and have for years. It is a great product with very helpful customer service representatives. Yes, the billing is recurring as other users have mentioned; however, you can cancel at any time. I've been subscribing off-and-on for years.
