Site was the best in the industry, bar none. No longer. I was a paid user for 14 years, but started using the local NWS Fort Worth/Dallas page two years ago. Compared to Weather Underground, content is far more comprehensive and robust. What a shame to see how the mighty have fallen so hard and fast.
Won't load - difficult to find detailed data - embedded maps are blank - stability issues - can't search by region. OMG. Years ago this was an amazing tool, now, this is literally the worst site I know of. Apparently the site is written and managed by High School students. Hmmmm... strike that... High School students would do far better.
It seems incredible to me that such an outstanding website could be so thoroughly ruined. You could be forgiven for thinking that management had a plan to destroy it. It started with the dumping of Wunderphotos, and now extends to the site itself, which is horribly slow to load, loses favourites and often defaults to Fahrenheit when I want temperatures in Celsius. Everything I used to need was on the 1st page, which appeared in a flash, but not any more. What a shame!
Was a wonderful site full of information. Weather for all over the world, during hurricane season a MUST. Now it is so nothing. The company who owns it should see past years Wunderground and take a lesson to what was the greatest weather channel we had before this pedestrian mess. A Cape Coral, Fl. Disappointed woman...
The new 10-day format is WAY too visually complicated! The prior format allowed for easy scan by day, then a quick click for any of the 10 days produced a nice table of everything one needs to know. Should revert or offer format option.
Weather Underground recently started locking up my computer forcing me to shut down by holding the power button. I became suspicious after having lock-ups right after opening Weather Underground. I verified this after a reboot, opening my browser and going straight to Weather Underground. Computer locks up and only way out is to hold the power button. They are obviously doing something very bad. I would say they should be treated as a virus and avoided. Operating system Windows 10.
I have been using intellicast forever. They killed it. Doesn't automatically load my nearest station, satelite view is now worthless and small, animation slow to non-existent and all else is slow or difficult to navigate. They need to start over with the previous version and then maybe try to add some of the new features of which some are good but not necessarily important. Meanwhile I will use my local TV station apps to get weather.
The new maps are laggy. I am lost. I can't find severe storm cell trackers now. The radar imagery is not as defined as before. The website says "same maps". Nope. I'm not finding the same map, and it won't remember my location. I live in tornado alley and I used to depend on Intellicast. Bring back the old way. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. With this new map, I'm dead, call me Dorothy.
Was a huge Intellicast fan since the 80s. WU is a piece of crap. Have to start new every time I open it. Slow, clunky, can't save any edited settings, ads are out of control. Radar stinks and is slow.
Sooner or later someone else will put a site like Intellicast and WU will be deleted from my computers.
I loved using Weather Underground for weather forecasts because it had a great, simplistic design and gave you all the details for your forecast. This new design eliminates a lot of that, and it now runs far slower and has several bugs that need to be fixed.
I've been a paying member since Wunderground's beginning. WAS a great weather site. Now it doesn't work half the time on half my browsers, even with all the latest OS. Very frustrating and disappointing.
The new Weather Underground website is terrible. The transformation from Intellicast completely killed a very nice site. Pages do not render in Google Chrome or Internet Explorer. A very large number of ads populate when the page actually populates. On to another weather source.
So disappointed with the new-stye WU app! Too many reasons to list but most are mentioned in the reviews that pre-date this one. I might subscribe if I thought that would get me the old features and convenience back - but now trust is lost!
I can see I'm not the only one who hates this new site design. Used to be everything was right where I wanted it on one page. Now you have to do some work through multiple pages to find what used to be all on one page. I do not like this at all! Will have to spend some time searching for an alternative now. Some designer thought it would be a good idea to muck things up just for the sake of change. Bad move Weather Underground.
I run a landscape/snow company and used intellicast in a daily basis and was an awesome tool! Wunderground when lucky enough to load is total junk! If you try running on a private browser mode won't load at all. It's obvious it's only a cookie and spam site now. Looking for a new weather service.
As another user described, gone are the days where the better product wins. I live in the SE and used WU daily for over 13 years to schedule my roof work. WAS by far the best weather site. Sadly, it seems it is being sabotaged and prepped for retirement by the new owners. I've stuck with WU through the ups and downs but today is the last day I (attempt) to use this now unusable website & app or any garbage website or app associated with the new owners. Really aggravating!
I used WU probably 10 times a day. Quick glance at what was going on and precipitation totals. So concise and easy to use, plus it seemed to be the most accurate forecast around. Now it's a complete mess starting with the "city"/favorites page. Who would lead with a complicated mess of station letter and numbers? No one who's using it would need to see that information more that once, but you lead with it and bury the city name? Ugh! And the wasted space with the huge tempetature circle? I know what 39 degrees feels like, I don't need to see it in a circle in blue. Now I'm going to have to delete this new awful app and find something else. It's so sad.
I have been a subscriber for 12 years, and have seen the features and reliability decline step by step. Each time it changes hands ( sold to the Weather Channel and then to IBM) it becomes less than what it was. Sadly predictable I guess, but what I can't understand is why the guy who founded it, Dr. Jeff Masters, can bear to remain associated with it. Are you listening Dr Jeff?
Best ditch new version quickly, before we all switch! Wunderground was a 4.5 and now slipped to 1 or less star rating.
I've used it for years and loved it. Now I can't even find the mm/in of precipitation. The 10 day forecast was easily available- so far I haven't found it. Please hit UNDO, or I'll have to ditch Wunderground to stop annoying myself! Unbelievable blunder!
Too many flaws to list them all.
My biggest complaints are that you can no longer pin the map to get weather at a new location and the rain probability graph no longer has the dew point curve and temperature curve superimposed over each other. The best part of Wunderground was the raw data that could be interpreted by the user, that is no longer available.
The interface on iPad is horrible, basically just the phone version with lots of empty space.
Answer: This was deliberate calculated sabotage for some reason
Answer: It won't come back. IBM bought The Weather Company to get at the data so they could package and sell that to their corporate customers using their "Watson" cloud services. Individuals mean nothing. That they've managed to so thoroughly destroy what was once the premiere weather site says a lot about the incompetence behind their core "Watson" products. You might want to tell IBM that.
Answer: They hired a bunch of idiots to manage and design their new site. This included removing features and gutting the radar.
Answer: Yes. We have many employees who come to work each day desperate to appear productive and relevant. We ask them to destroy functional lean websites with bloated nonsense. Meanwhile, our executives require more money so we like to devastate communicative websites with ad-infested infestations of pus-riddled idiocy. Thanks for asking!
Answer: Pointless giving feedback/complaints. I tried this and got an automated reply telling me how much better it was!
Answer: Your local Tv station meteorologist.
