I had a PWS up and running from April until December 25th and it suddenly disappeared for no reason at all. I sent WU support numerous requests without a reply or explanation as to why. I eventually had to create another PWS to get back on line. In other words there is no support. Also the fact that they've illuminated web cams tells us that the whole organization is in trouble. I hope they're taken over by someone who can run a railroad or business. The existing group has dropped the ball and it's very obvious by reading the reviews here. If you haven't had a problem yet it's only a matter of time when you do and don't expect any support. They still have made it easy to send them more money though.
Weather Channel's systematic destruction of their too-successful arch-nemesis seems complete. Weather Underground used to be my favorite website/app, and their Storm app was terrific. All good things must die, though, as the modern tech-industry mantra seems to dictate.
This website just flat-out doesn't work anymore. That's it. Temperatures and information doesn't display. It looks like whoever maintained it was fired a while back but management hasn't caught up to this yet. The keen destruction-focused management at the Weather Channel (which bought Wunderground) has made important decisions to handicap and ruin what they purchased. Good job, guys! Hope you give yourself some nice raises before your company eventually goes bankrupt.
wu is slow, it has an uncomfortable and poorly made interface, tons of creepy ads, full of bugs also (now for example, it refuses to show the hourly forecast - loads it at first, but after a second it drops out).
bad site in general - still far away from intellicast. two stars only for the fact that wu started to load faster - two months ago it could not load even the main forecast sometimes.
p.s. it's sad that such intellectual service as intellicast.com was killed. so many people around the world used it... hope that responsible persons will find the nessesity to fix their mistake and, to begin with, return the old intellicast not matter under what name
Tend to not change preferred apps but the WU pad version has been getting worse & now does not run. App sent me to "Mobil" version which doesn't load. Used to be really great. Researched this morning & has been bought & sold most recently IBM. The same folks who sold their PC biz to China.
Got on Intellicast site to check for 12 hrs precipitation interactive radar and was steered to this site. This site is totally useless as I spent 20 minutes and was not able to find anything related to that. What a waste of time. I would give it a zero rating if there's one. Bring back Intellicast!
Weather Underground is a joke of a weather Internet site. Intellicast was excellent. Why in God's name did they replace it with this garbage. Could not delete the Intellicast favorite fast enough. Let me guess, some corporate takeover? Geez.
I have been a member for many, many, years, but this year will be the last. The paid sites do not load properly, the animation on radar does not function, no one answers an email with my concerns, why bother. It was an excellent site and a reliable source of information, the absolute best, however, since its acquisition by TWC it has gone down in flames very quickly. So, if TWC doesn't care about their customers and their site, I shall reciprocate. What a shame. Cato, NY
How do you take a great functioning, and useful, website and screw it up sooooooooooooooooooo badly? I mean seriously, this is the worst site now. I just use my local T. V. station's map. It's far superior to this "thing."
The app has improved significantly over the past year. Precipitation feature is much better. The ten day forecast is better too, and it changes often, showing the latest updates, as it should. I was not happy a year ago, but I have to admit they've done a lot of work to make it more user friendly.
The successor app to Intellicast is terrible. I used to get very accurate forecasts as they were using data from 4 local reporting stations. They dropped those in favor of a single station in a valley on the other side of mountains. (Weather in my valley is different than this other one.) The 10 Day Forecast has not worked since Wunderground took over several weeks ago. This change reflects greed, poor management, bad strategy, and sub-standard programming talent; nothing less than a bad sell out. This new site sucks! Looks like I have to find a new source. Very disappointed.
Intellicast was exceptional. I used it for many years, every feature you could possibly imagine, told many friends about it also. But, alas, all good things must come to an end. Now, it has morphed into Weather Underground. :( WU is worthless. 10 day forecast hardly ever loads, their radar "maps" are useless and slow, no logical flow what so ever. There is a reason I never used WU before, I will never use it in the future. Time to find a REAL weather site. RIP Intellicast, you will be sorely missed!
Went from being an absolute gem and favorite for instant, up to the minute local conditions with so many great features that I could spend hours exploring weather around the globe to a waste of time due to constant freeze ups ( Can't even expand beyond 2 or 3 levels and it locks up) The ads have not only reduced the map to a fraction of former screen size but several times malware and worse have invaded my PC from that site. Thanks ' Weather channel '! ( Another complete waste)
Starting a day or so ago when I bring up Weatherunderground app or go to the website, it gets immediately taken over by an ad for Walmart coupons, which are a scam. Now my iPad warns the site is infected and won't let me go to it at all.
This happened a few months ago but went away, and has happened before that.
These so called ads do not appear on any other app.
It had been working okay.
Weather underground has been slow and buggy for a while. I was happy to live with that, because they presented everything really intuitively on one page, making it really easy to understand everything you would want to know about the weather at a glance. Now? Not so much. This should go in the hall of fame for bad website redesigns, the firm responsible for this project should never be hired by anyone ever again, and everybody who works for that design firm should spend the rest of their lives scrubbing toilets. An utter disgrace.
The new design is absolutely horrid. It was obviously done by someone with absolutely no experience whatsoever doing general-purpose website design.
I've also noticed that they've added an auto-refresh to their horribly bloated website. Now my entire browser freezes for 15-20 seconds periodically while their sorry excuse of a website refreshes in the now multiple tabs I need to keep open to see the same information that used to be on a single page. This is on a high-end Core i7 gaming computer. I can't imagine what it must be like for people running a more typical machine.
Not sure if it will make any difference, as I've not gotten a single reply (they just don't seem to care anymore), but I would suggest flooding them with complaints. Here is their feedback link:

Used to highly recommend, specifically for their efficient one-stop shopping format. Just pulled my PWS. They don't listen, I go elsewhere.
As a software architect, and a weather nerd, it is always a source of great wonder and frustration to experience the Benjamin Button-like lifecycle of the Wunderground app/site. Read your customer comments. You took something so wonderful, and have consistently made it worse (or completely non-functional). The latest iteration... I cannot even load a local forecast from a zip code of city in Chrome or Firefox on any computer for some unknown reason. For the love of God, stop. Do yourselves (and us) a favor, throw out everything you have done in the last 5 years or more, and roll the damn thing back to its glory days.
I miss Intellicast so much. Wunderground frequently doesn't load properly (Chrome on a Mac), and forecasts seem off. When the map actually works (infrequently), it's pretty good, but I'd like it to default to radar. So many extra clicks to see what I want, and usually it doesn't completely load or fails to load altogether. Shoddy web development. Very poor site. If Wunderground bought Intellicast, they should have just replaced all their code with that from Intellicast.
This used to be the place to find local information from just about anywhere. Then they sold out to IBM and service and support has been horrendous. Data is not getting through, entire chunks are being dropped. After many years on WU I do not know how much longer I can put up with the terrible service we get now.
My CWOP is working perfectly. WU has stopped working almost completely.
Years ago the site was uncluttered and was able to present large amounts of scientific data in a single screenful effectively and without being overwhelming. You could quickly access, find and visually scan data. Now it is a mess of jumbo display elements that require lots of scrolling. A single metric such as pollen index now requires about half a megapixel of display space on my monitor. The site has become sluggish and there are so many functional defects. Even simple things such as differentiating the units of temperature seem to be beyond the capability of the site's developers now. If they rolled back to about 2005 a huge proportion of their user base would be extremely grateful.
Answer: This was deliberate calculated sabotage for some reason
Answer: It won't come back. IBM bought The Weather Company to get at the data so they could package and sell that to their corporate customers using their "Watson" cloud services. Individuals mean nothing. That they've managed to so thoroughly destroy what was once the premiere weather site says a lot about the incompetence behind their core "Watson" products. You might want to tell IBM that.
Answer: They hired a bunch of idiots to manage and design their new site. This included removing features and gutting the radar.
Answer: Yes. We have many employees who come to work each day desperate to appear productive and relevant. We ask them to destroy functional lean websites with bloated nonsense. Meanwhile, our executives require more money so we like to devastate communicative websites with ad-infested infestations of pus-riddled idiocy. Thanks for asking!
Answer: Pointless giving feedback/complaints. I tried this and got an automated reply telling me how much better it was!
Answer: Your local Tv station meteorologist.
