All I can say is I'm glad I didn't pay the three bucks or five bucks whatever they want for this piece of crap app the great until now. Now I see Weather Channel bought it. That explains everything. Uninstalling today
They will not return my emails, been tiring for a month. They used to be very responsive. I have a paid subscription for two more years for add free service. Since last week in March, I logged out because I was getting adds. Went to log in again and it gives me user not found.
I'm still a charter member of Weather Underground but it has gone downhill since being bought out. Now it's just another corporate dog and pony show owned by the Weather Channel (NBC). In fact, the TV version of the afternoon WU is horrendous no matter how "casual" they try to make it. The only thing missing on the televised version is a tap dance while they give the forecasts and updates on the "millions" of people affected by the current weather. (The U.S. is a nation of millions.) Don't even get me started on naming of winter storms. Next time you're in a social setting, ask a person to name the last big winter storm. Then ask them to name the last hurricane.
I've been with WU for many years and have my weather station reporting to their site for about 15 years. Their site was a great place to look at your weather data including graphs and many stats and things. All those things are on the new site but there are always problems such as errors loading and even error messages saying there is a problem with your own station when there clearly isn't. I send my personal weather station data to many sites. The point is this, since the greedy Weather Channel got their hands on WU, it's ruined. I haven't watched the WC in years since they went over to the weather drama in overdrive mode. If I watched just 5 minutes of the WC during a hurricane or any major weather event I would be dizzy from all their ridiculous hype and spin. Their meteorologist are nothing short of idiot puppets that are basically ordered to report dramatized weather.
Well, I am a full time Rancher and weather is a very important thing for us to keep up with. I am on a weather site daily. For 10 years WU was my site of choice. The first major change was a step in the wrong direction, but the last change, several months ago, has caused me to move. It is difficult to use, particularly the 10 day forecast, my go to page. It does not load as it had before, does not function correctly. Though I confess, I use it occasionally, I am using the government page most often now.
I have no idea why a worthwhile site was changed to worthless...
Defies logical analysis... one should be able at a glance to see at least the next seven day forecast with easily available regional and local weather. Also,
Local radar should be just a simple procedure away... and who knows how
Severe weather is displayed and mapped. This site is no longer user friendly
And is little more than a distraction...
This used to be a great place to get weather info. Accurate, responsive, reliable... words that used to describe WU and now are no longer applicable because Weather Channel destroyed it with the help of IBM.
WU is junk. How could they kill such a good tool like intellicast? That's right, it's money, and how best to protect it and make more? Just kill a working and productive site for some garbage, slow loading, minimal details, and no cares given.
Ive used this site for almost since its conception and now it has gone down the toilet. The layout which was once really easy to use has not become cluttered and complicated, the radar is slow to load and the forecast model is not in the least bit accurate. Weather Channel there is a reason I never watched you, why did you have to ruin Weather Underground
It used to be the go-to site for weather info. Now its absolutely useless. It seems that as in so many sites on the internet today that an employee thought it was a good idea reinvent the wheel. Sadly we all have to pay the price and lose functionality. This site should be about as much weather information as possible not adds.
This was my top weather site until the last update. Now I don't use as it only shows in portrait in my iPad and I have to hold sideways to view. This has been a big boost for all the other weather apps as I see over 400 one star ratings for Underground since they changed.
After the new UI release in November or December 2019 the app is now useless. Very slow and very hard to find the information you want. Doesn't even have the weather forecast for the current day obvious nor does the daily forecast show how much it will rain or snow!
Where did the blog comments go? Suddenly there are no comments. I agree with others, this used to be a great place to go, and when I lived on the coast for several years and was responsible for a large portion of the coastline's wireless network, I almost exclusively used this website. Now it's not worth much more than checking to see if it's raining outside.
Coach sports, baseball, soccer. Used to rely on this site for accurate info in my area. Lately it's a joke. Lucky to get the weather right 1 day out of 7. Do they use the equipment they have? When it's suppose to rain it's sunny, and vice versa. Have better luck looking out the window. Will never use this site again!
The most recent format change isn't the greatest. The previous one worked well, had more information on the home screen, and icons were smaller requiring less scrolling. And it's SLOW. Please fix this or give us the option of using the old site.
Most of the time doesn't work on latest Mac OS. I suggest advertisers should be reimbursed for signing up to what might be the worst site on the Internet. Not just weather sites. One wonders how what was OK got so screwed up.
They took the best weather site, intellicast and destroyed it. Performance is abysmal. Almost impossible to get an hourly forecast in time for the next hour to hit. 10 day forecast takes just about 10 days to render. LOL... But really, you, 100% of the time have to hit Ctrl f5 for the 10 day forecast to show any data. Then god forbid you want to see the hourly for a particular day and then go back to the 10 day forecast. This site was programmed by a bunch of people that have no freaking idea how to program web sites. I cant believe anyone would want their ad on this site. It just turns you off.
The recent changes make it almost impossible to use from a remote site with very slow internet. I used to see a few days with one click that took about a half minute. Now I need to do multiple clicks at the same half minute to get the same info. Very sorry to say goodbye, but there are better sites now after yours was number one for so long.
Jim
What a disaster! Totally unusable anymore. I miss Intellicast - great site. Great maps. Great interface. Now it's a dysfunctional unusable mess. Thanks for nothing WU. Deleting my link and not using your website at all!
This whole new thing of asking me to opt-in or out of some crap is the last straw. I don't have the time to wait while your overloaded computers process all the garbage you plan to send me now. The last big website update was bad enough. Forcing me to load new pages when the previous page showed all the relevant info on ONE page. This is just another way to sell our information to advertisers.
Answer: This was deliberate calculated sabotage for some reason
Answer: It won't come back. IBM bought The Weather Company to get at the data so they could package and sell that to their corporate customers using their "Watson" cloud services. Individuals mean nothing. That they've managed to so thoroughly destroy what was once the premiere weather site says a lot about the incompetence behind their core "Watson" products. You might want to tell IBM that.
Answer: They hired a bunch of idiots to manage and design their new site. This included removing features and gutting the radar.
Answer: Yes. We have many employees who come to work each day desperate to appear productive and relevant. We ask them to destroy functional lean websites with bloated nonsense. Meanwhile, our executives require more money so we like to devastate communicative websites with ad-infested infestations of pus-riddled idiocy. Thanks for asking!
Answer: Pointless giving feedback/complaints. I tried this and got an automated reply telling me how much better it was!
Answer: Your local Tv station meteorologist.
