“I was literally STRANDED outside of this hotel at 1am in the morning”

This is my experience with the WoodSpring Suites Memphis Southeast hotel in Collierville, TN: After traveling all day from Spain, I was literally STRANDED outside of this hotel at 1am in the morning all because the lady on the other end of the lobby phone wouldn't get up to do an after hours check-in. I had to call my wife and have her drive the 81 miles in the middle of the night to pick me up, then 81 miles back home. I made my reservation online prior to arriving, but because "check-ins are at 3pm" - as she told me repeatedly, I was denied the room I had reserved. Even on WoodSpring's website, they state "Need help after hours - including check-in? Dial x500 from a lobby or room phone. A staff member will assist you shortly." This is the worse kind of service. I've never been treated so badly by hotel staff. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

8 months ago my wife and I stayed at a Woodsping Hotel for one night. August 2022. Just got my credit card bill and have been charged over $600 for several nights in April 2023. We were 1800 miles away when this happened.
Per my credit card company i called the hotel many times and nobody answers. There is no number to call for complaint resolution at this chain. We finally got through to Choice Hotels who is the parent company and they could not log into Woodsprings system no could they contact the hotel it self or any upper management within either company. Completely worthless!

I feel that the chances are very high that an employee had something to do with this. The policy of this hotel is that room must be in the name of the credit card holder and that picture ID, ( drivers license) must be presented at check in. I did all this so they must have re used a copy of my license or failed to follow their own policies.

I have had to cancel my card and wait for another. I will have to update all sorts of accounts. Master Card is treating these charges as fraudulent. Makes the whole idea of on line booking suspect.

I know there are computer errors but there should be an easy path for a guest to get a problem resolved. There isn't with this company. I have stayed at all sorts of hotels in sevral countries and never have i seen such poor service and problem resolution. I have made up my mind to avoid all Woodspring Hotels and the many others in the Choice Hotel sphere. Never again. I would rather sleep in my car.
