If you like all those sells calls give them your info. I had gotten of all the sells calls, day 3 after filling out my info for an order the calls returned. Thanks for nothing. I won't be using Woodcrafters again.
Wood craft has a tendency to ship the wrong product which usually takes about 10 days in the first place and when they have to ship again they say we will ship 2nd day. Never happens! This last time just one of several it was exactly 8 days when it should have been three. You always get an apology but to me an apology just doesnt cut it when It costs you a customer who has been waiting on you to get his product out to him. I manufacture pistol grips and they ship wet wood so it takes me another 3 days to dry it out running the time to 21 days. I never hear an offer to reimburse me for the money I lost.
On my last order, I specified that my order, two reamers, be sent via USPS. They would fit in a 4x6 padded envelope and cost less than $3. Also, 1st class mail would get to me faster than UPS Innovations. Instead, they put them in a box 16x4x4 and sent it UPS Innovations. I have bought several items online, that I have no complaint about. I will continue to buy at the Woodcraft store 40 miles from where I live. All employees and the owner are veterans, materials and service are excellent. I can have them order from the company, if the item isn't in, and pick it up in 2 days. I only pay sales tax and get to visit with friends, my fellow vets.
I am building a new workshop in my house that I moved into last year. I have a home made router table, but wanted to upgrade. I have been eyeing the Jess-Em router lift for some time. I figured since i was building a new shop now would be the best time to buy. I found this on WoodCraft's web site, signed up for their email promotions (giving my 10% off my first order) and watched it. I got an email notifying me of a hot sale, 15% off everything on the site. In addition to my 10% welcome coupon it was an incredible savings. I pulled the trigger and ordered it. I had done some research into the site to make sure it wasn't a scam, but had read very few reviews. Then i started second guessing myself and the purchase, so to the depths of the reviews i went. I read a lot of reviews about delayed shipping, and no customer service. This was not the case with my purchase. I bought the lift on Friday at 10:56pm (why not?) and on Tuesday it was shipped. I received the unit on Thursday, less than a week from when i bought it, I had called customer service in the gap between purchase and shipping and they sent me the shipping info, then in an hour i got the "official" email from them it had shipped. This was a great company to work with and i will buy from them again.
Ordered tablesaw - incompleted, 20 days later some components came, still incomplete, 2 calls to customer service - neither knew anything about what was included - though detailed in their catalog, wood Crasft not respinding, tablesaw not functional, yet they have had my money from day 1
Called and ask if they had a certain bandsaw in stock and they said they did to only get there after driving 2 hours to be told that they didn't...but they did have a different model that was $400 more. If it weren't for the young man that eventually helped me, I would have walked out. The potbellied pompous jerk older man did nothing but bully the young employee while he was trying to help me. I wanted to know the difference between the two models of which the potbellied pompous jerk older man said he didn't know and there was no further help from him while still belittling the young employee. I bought the more expensive model because of the help I received from this younger man. I told him when I left that he shouldn't let that older guy get him down. The potbellied pompous jerk older man did put the saw on my truck, where he should stay, in the back doing grunt work. I will never return to that Woodcraft location (Henrietta NY) and probably any other Woodcraft store. I hope that either the young employee finds another job or the potbellied pompous jerk older man gets fired! One star for the experience, 5 stars for the young employee.
I ordered an item from them that was in stock when ordered and the next day after they recieved my order they put it on backorder and week later still have no clue when and if it will ship...
I canceled my order and decided to try a different company.
Communications were not good, but they did come through and get it delivered before Christmas. Bumping them up to a 4 as it is the busy Christmas season.
I wish I'd read the reviews prior to ordering. Same experience as others. Immediately charged my credit card. Got email thanking me for order and provided link to check order. Link produces error message, After week called. Got run around. Not in stock. To be shipped from manufacturer, but no information on when. Supposed to be Christmas present ordered 2 weeks in advance. Now less than week out with no information on status. Ordered 3 other presents on the same day as this one. Others have all been delivered,
First of all I want to distinguish between Woodcraft as an online store and my local Woodcraft franchisee I am reviewing the online store not the franchisee (which would generally get 4-5 stars from me). The online customer service, in my opinion, is neither customer friendly nor service oriented. Due to an error in their catalog, I received a lathe accessory that was not the proper size. After more than 15 email exchanges, in which they seemed to be attempting to cool me out, I sent them screen shots from their catalog documenting the error. They admitted the error (I have it in writing) and sent me a return label, promising a full refund. I returned the item in early November and have not heard from them since. I filed a dispute with my credit card company which found in my favor as Woodcraft apparently didn't respond to them either. Online Woodcraft is, consequently, off my shopping list. I simply cannot trust them to do the right thing. There are too many online stores that provide the same products and also honor their responsibilities and word to their customers.
I ordered a new V27 Incra miter gauge from them and they sent me a used one. It was heavily scratched and dinged. The angle tape is missing half of one of the measurements from being gouged. I called them and they said I could return it, The miter gauge works for me, so I kept it. When I ordered the miter gauge, I was very careful to insure that I did not receive advertisements, as I always do. I got them anyway. Emails and mail. I have been unable to stop the emails. It's a domain I've had trouble with before - bronto.com. Just by the fact that Woodcraft breaks the rules to shove advertisements down your throat, we should know that something is very wrong with the company. There is a Woodcraft store about twenty miles away and I love woodworking, but I won't be spending my money there or online.
I order a product over a month ago. Each time I asked about the status, I I heard was its coming... it coming. I will never order from this company again.
I placed an order on 1/27/17 for a CMT P******* saw blade and it was on sale for $28.99. A week later I haven't receive the blade so I sent a message through their site asking about my order, 2 days later I finally get a reply and they said the blades just came in and it will ship the following day. 3 days later they still haven't shipped the blade so I decided to write to them again, and again I get the same answer. It is now 3 weeks since I ordered it I finally got fed up with the same BS answer I get from customer service time after time so I gave them a call. The woman puts me on hold for 5 mins and tells me the blade is no longer available since it was a clearance item. Meanwhile it's still on their website showing it's in stock as of today 2/17/17. I ordered a couple of other small items at the time since I'm paying for shipping for the blade anyway but the blade never came so I paid $7.99 for shipping on a small box of pin nails and a zero clearance guide bar from microjig. If they had told me the blade was not available I would of cancel the entire order but instead they ship me what they want and then lie about the availability of items to keep you waiting. There are much better companies on the web if you're looking for woodworking supplies.
I am writing about the second experience ordering from the online cataloque site. The tracking mechanism has never worked. One order about a month ago was "lost" and they sent me another shipment that after three weeks finally made it. This time I was promised shipment arrival via their customer service on a Friday, Saturday at the latest and this is after two weeks and 5 days later its still not here. Another call to their CS is in order tomorrow. This means I have tied up my money for twice as long as it should be maybe longer now and that just doesn't cut it.
The only store in Hawaii has consistently NEVER had items ordered to satisfy their sales flyers. After experiencing this for two years I finally asked WHY? And the answer was that the store was waiting to see how much interest it recvd from customers and then they would order the items. The only trouble is it takes them 3-8 weeks to get their shipment in from the time its ordered. This si why I went to online instead of storefront.
I have bought literally thousands of dollars worth of items from them in just he last year. I have been disappointed with how they do business OFTEN.
I would highly recommend either Penn State or Woodtuningz costs less to ship and the stuff shows up ALWAYS within a few days of order. Especially Woodtuningz - I have ordered from them and recvd the order within three days of sending them the order consistently - they have the same stuff, its better priced and much cheaper to ship.
I ordered a Veritas honing guide, and chose 2-day shipping. On the 2nd day, I received an email indicating the product was backordered (with no indication of future arrival date.).
I canceled order via phone. This was non-trivial. The primary listed phone number for the company continually rang with a busy signal (I called countless times to inquire about my order using the number provided). It was only after I called using the number provided ONLY on the backorder email that I actually got through to a person, who immediately cancelled the order.
It is a major problem that the order is listed as in stock, and actually isn't. It's an even more major problem that a legitimate phone number is provided only after being notified that there is a problem with the order. I offered a 2nd star ONLY because they notified me the product was backordered, and the cancellation process was quick (though not available on the website, and was not provided with a valid number until I had been notified the product already been backordered. [Side note, I will be listing that number on gethuman.com, such that it may help future would-be customers.])
From what I understand from other reviews, Woodcraft is just fine when visited in person, so this review is not about that. It is about the online experience, which is--quite frankly--abysmal. Without SIGNIFICANT changes, I can only recommend that online customers stay away at all cost.
I'm a new hobbyist and part time pro cutting board guy, so I'm not completely in the know of all things wood related. I need help on occasion, so I went into the store in N Atlanta, was treated well by a very knowledgeable young individual, but seemed to be looked down on by the rest of the staff. Felt very judged on questions that I was asking and that he was asking his colleagues. It seemed as if they were thinking, Oh no, another guy trying woodworking and we have to put up with all the questions now. I decided at that point to not go back into the store, although I can see that there were great prices. I decide since they have a website, I'll use that for the pricing and "same day" shipping that's advertised all over the site. Well, my first experience with the site is horrible. I ordered on a Saturday, paid by my Amazon pay account, all of which suggests that they will charge me and ship that day. Well, I was wrong. It's Tuesday at present, I received an email saying my payment was accepted but no communication on when the order will be shipped. I found an email where they sent me my "view order status" but when entering the order number and my zip, it always failed to find the order, saying "no order found." Since this is a troubling statement especially when your card has been charged, I decided to call customer service. Well that was just as happy an experience as going into the store. It actually felt like I was being blamed that I ordered on Saturday and I did not know that it wouldn't be processed until Monday and that it potentially won't ship for a while. Remember, all indications and all information on the site, by using Amazon Pay and by blatantly saying "same day shipping", in my mind that meant my order would be coming Monday or Tuesday. At the very least, some sort of communication saying we're processing your order, there was none, only an original email saying the processed my order and gave me an order number. I'm giving a 2 on this for the young man at the store, pricing and selection of product. I'm not sure I'll ever buy at the store or online again because those factors don't seem to make up for the arrogance and non communication. I should be rating a one, but as I said the young man in N Atlanta did great and I wish him well. Please read the reviews of this site before buying. I've made the mistake and will not make that one again.
My order has been on delivery truck for 6 days and contacted customer service and she got rude with me and told me to go ahead and contact PayPal, not very cool, I just may file a refund from PayPal
Ordered a table saw through the web site opposed to the brick and mortar store and the experience has been nothing but frustrating. The saw was backordered with the estimated arrival pushed out further twice. Tired of the perpetual backorder, I tried to cancel my order. A week after cancelling I received an email that they couldn't cancel the order because the item had already shipped. Another week later, I receive an email notice the item has finally shipped, two weeks after I cancelled the order. Customer service, after two attempts and being on hold for over 20 minutes each time, said they cannot do anything. I inquired about options for returning the item and customer service said that they would have to get back to me since this was a drop ship from the manufacturer and that woodcraft wouldn't accept a return. So now I am suck in limbo with a $1800 tablesaw I don't need or want since I had already purchased another one from a different company while waiting for the perpetual back order and thinking the order was cancelled.
I checked their website at 2am (march, 6) they had a nice discount@ flexcut carving tools
I went to the woodcraft store in allentown (50miles from my home) same day at 1pm
And the price is changed,
There was nothing about this on website,
I waste my 3hours for nothing
They are not honest, never again
Answer: Because they claimed what I was looking for was in stock
Answer: No it was not immediate and they put it on back order without asking if that was OK
Answer: Yes it really is that bad Nonworking phone numbers back ordering items that were supposed to be in stock online not contacting you to give you an option to cancel and of course all of this was days after it was ordered I would take Jenny's advice and run, Forrest
