I was disappointed to see the plastic bag had split, which meant the books dust covers were slightly exposed. Difficult to know whether damage was already there as 2 books were not new, but if the protective packaging is just a thin plastic post bag then I suppose that's to be expected the risk of damage is there. At least it hadn't rained, unfortunately I didn't think to take a photo so I've not got evidence which I appreciate is not helpful.
I usually find the service excellent and prompt delivery.

I have been buying books from WOB for about six months. The range of titles is excellent. Initially I thought the quality might be poor but all my purchases so far have been very good, although I have not tried any classed as "Well Read" yet.
The kind of books I buy are reasonably priced but the downside of that is my ever growing "To be read" pile. The bookshelves are now double stacked.
I particularly like the ecological ethic of passing books on rather than sending to landfill.

Bought used BBC Espana viva coursebook and set of 3 Cd's.
Initial delivery had 1 cd missing - customer service sent out a replacement within a few days. I'm satisfied with quality and service for a reasonable price.

Whenever I want a book I always check WOB first. New books are often far less than elsewhere and pre-loved books always excellent quality even when just rated as acceptable... they lose nothing from having been read before. Service is always excellent with updates of progress of despatch and estimated delivery... loads of books from all genres though mine are mainly knitting and crochet

I ordered a book called 'Traces of Vermeer', it is fascinating and gives great insight into what is known about a rather elusive artist. The book is in good condition and has great colour plates which helps whilst discussing the details of each painting. I thoroughly recommend World of Books for service and for their ethics, recycling charity shop books. I read avidly so they are high on my list for browsing for second hand books.

Item was advertised as in very good condition. But was missing pieces when it arrived.
I ordered a tarot deck and when I received it the seller had put a sticker on it indicating four cards were missing. I reached out to the seller via their Website. It did not seem to work properly. I then did a search for them and filed a complaint through another portal on their website from an external link. The seller has not responded and I had to open a dispute with PayPal.

They also sell on Amazon. Purchased a book, they sent a foreign publication... said the book I ordered was not in stock. Return the book to "address"... so now 30 days later, no refund and out another 2 shipping charges, you see the "address" they said to send the book to was bogus. So the post office made me pay return shipping to myself to get the book back. I would avoid this firm at all costs because it will cost you time, effort and money. Along with some bad vibes running through your head.

Always had good service before and good clean quality books. Ordered three Paddington books for presents to small children to remember the Queens Jubilee. Only one was in the condition described as excellent. One was badly torn inside and the other had a reduced label stuck on so firmly that it could not be removed. Didn't send them back as not much money involved and it didn't seem worth the effort.

I submitted a request via Watson informing WoB that the wrong book had been delivered to me as part of the Buy 3 get 1 Free offer. Heard nothing back in a week. Submitted an email with the info above, and got a tone deaf reply about checking for my order with a neighbour. I brought the missing book elsewhere as I still don't know what WoB are actually doing about replacing the wrong book. This is the third order in a row where I've had quality issues or the wrong book delivered.

WoB has a good selection of books at affordable rates but the shipping charge for international orders is rather high. In fact, it comes out more than the cost of the books itself because even if an order is placed for a set of books, the company charges shipping cost for each book, not for the whole package. If the company could look into this policy (and provide relief for customers like me), I would buy more often. On the plus side, most of the old books I have ordered are in excellent shape. They are mostly unsold stock, not used ones.

WOB is an amazing service, giving books a second chance in life. I have been using the service for a while now and It never fails to amaze me - The prices are unmatched, I can buy a book for a fraction of its original cost. The quality of the books is also phenomenal, with most looking like new, or having minimal wear. The delivery is also really fast and free which is always good :)

I've been trying for at least two weeks now to purchase a few books off their website (USA) and no matter what time of day or what device I'm using I am not able to check out. I put all my info in including my card information and when I click to submit the page just loads forever but never redirects and never completes my order. I have tried to contact them three times about this. All three times I get an email saying they will let IT know along with a list of all the steps necessary to check out.

I don't understand why World of Books send heavy hardback books through the main in what is essentially a plastic bag. My last three orders have turned up damaged and its an inconvenience to have to resolve it instead of just getting on and reading the book. I just opened the book to discover it's aso ex-library, but there was no mention of this.

If you like your books in the condition they're listed as, avoid World of Books.

I bought a CD, which was listed as "in very good condition". The parcel arrived on time, but was already opened?! The next shock was, that the case was in a poor condition(not nearly as described) and the CD sat loosely in there. That was the last time I ordered from them. Beware of those scammers!
Edit: I was recently contacted by the seller and received a full refund plus a 10% coupon, so no complaints about the service here.

It's a shame to read negative comments about World of Books. I've been buying from them for years and I have always been delighted with the books and their customer service staff. The books arrive very quickly and I'm always surprised by how really good the quality is. I have honestly never received a poor quality book. If I've had a question the staff are friendly and more than helpful and their response is always prompt. I believe that if you have an issue with ANY company it's best to go direct to them to resolve it, rather than leave negative reviews which don't help anyone. Can I suggest that if anyone has a problem they speak to World of Books themselves? For myself, I will continue to buy several books a month for me and my family from World of Books- it's not just because of their realistic pricing. They help charities and they recycle books which reduce waste and lessen damage to our environment. Carry on as you are World of Books- you are doing a fantastic job!
