My daughter recommended WOB so I placed an order when I had a wee desire list! I love the fact that all my books came together in one package with no waste of packaging and the packaging is recycled and fully recyclable. The, pre-loved books were in good to great condition and I've already read 2 of them. Speedy and sustainably satisfying.

The big problem with WOB is that their description of the condition of the books available is utterly unreliable. My most recent consignment of books were all described as in "very good condition": some were indeed very good, others very poor. This has happened every time I have ordered more than one title from them. The other issue is that they use an illustration of the book on their website, but more often than not, this is not the copy one actually receives. Additionally, sometimes a paperback is ordered, but a hardback arrives.
Their stock levels on the website cannot be relied on, so that an order arrives in separate packages over a period of time. When I ordered a batch of 5 items recently, most of them arrived promptly, but I am still waiting for a single title some 13 days later. Why state that the book is in stock in the first place? With wonderful irony the missing title is "The Death of a Bookseller"...

Both my grandson and daughter have enjoyed tremendously each gift. The standard of the books are impressive. As a child all my books were second hand as we called them and because of that we had many more books than we would have to enjoy. The touch and smell of a book that's been cared for just added to the experience. My grandson, now he's older probably wouldn't use s real book if his own. My only regret is my eyesight prevents me from enjoying the same. I have my tablet thankfully but if I start smelling books but not reading them my family would lock me up.

I found the title of the book I wanted easy to find & then had the choice of different conditions of that book in the price bracket I'm happy to pay for it. Thank you for shopping with us recently - we hope you were happy with your order of The Beatles: 1. Sorry, this item was NOT 'very good', as described. The jewel case was grubby and sticky and the CD judders when played. Two tracks have frequent 'skips'. Surely the condition of the jewel case should have alerted quality control to give this a closer inspection. After a run of CD purchases which were as described this has made me reluctant to 'return'.

I was very anxious after reading some of the reviews on this site, as I had already ordered a wine atlas that was listed at a good price in good condition from World of Books. Fortunately, it arrived sooner than expected and in very good condition. I'm sorry about the people who haven't had good experiences with them, but I have no complaints about my own.

I bought a used book from WorldOfBooks via AbeBooks and it's been a nightmare. After 22 days the book has not arrived. They can't provide a tracking number or any evidence that it was even shipped. Their only reply is "just give it another 72 hours" and let us know how we can be of service to you. DO NOT buy from WorldOfBooks!
I like to buy books through Abe Books (part of Amazon). I trust this company and their service has always been excellent.
Sometimes, on Abe Books, you have to buy from a third party supplier and in this case it was World Of Books UK.
I wrote to World of Books with a quick question asking if they would please clarify the title of a book that I wanted to buy - as it appeared slightly 'different' on their site. (They called it Vol 1). My question was polite (why not) and specific. I even supplied their stock code number to help.
The reply that I received from their customer service (sic) was a lesson in 'could't care less management'. We are too busy to check... etc.
Happily there are many other good book sellers around and so this company has lost my business.

I had been using WOB for years, but recently their quality has dropped - and by a lot! They often send incorrect items or orders with missing items - and take no responsibility for their errors.
Customer service agents are deliberately unhelpful without ever being rude, and talk you in circles rather than ever actually helping. They even went so far as to claim that they were under no requirement to write the correct info on a book (the one I ordered has an incorrect ISBN, description and title). They just kept repeating that they were under no obligation to get the picture right - which was about the only thing they got right in the entire listing!
The same order was missing two other items from it, a total farce.
I was then asked to return the incorrect item via international postage, which literally cost more than the refund! So basically, no book, and less money than I started out with, a totally outrageous result!
Be careful, especially when ordering Used items, as they take little to no responsibility for their mistakes.
(P.S. The uploaded photos show the erroneous Amazon listing they used to copy their incorrect info from, and the other is a photo of what I was actually sent - not the lack of a mention of Slaine the Horned God in the sent item, because it was not included - despite the description, title and ISBN claiming that it did).

Since I joined WOB I have not purchased s book from anywhere else. Books are always in the condition stated and usually better.
Books are always clean and unmarked.
WOB offer books at exceptional prices add to that no postage or packaging costs and orders that arrive very quickly.
I cannot fault the buying experience and it also feels good to be recycling

I love World of Books. I ordered 4x I think. Every book came in a very very good condition. Especially the last order where the book was marked as "Like new" and it came literally like new. I am so grateful that WOB is shipping to Bosnia and Herzegovina and I do hope they will start shipping to Serbia as well since I'm moving there soon here are some books I ordered so I can show successful purchases so far.

They are such a good company with great values! They always arrive so quickly and in great condition the books are cheap but that doesn't make the quality bad, probably better than books that you get at Waterstones, the only problem I would give them is not being sure what translations the books are in, but apart from that I Love it! I am a frequent buyer and have bought from them multiple times and will continue to do so!
