A wonderful mattress. I wish in the mattress description there was a warning not to buy it with a heavy duty bed frame - especially when you cannot return a heavy duty bed frame. I needed a platform foundation. If I was going to order a platform foundation, I would have to wait another 2 weeks for it to arrive. I shopped elsewhere for 50% less.
Ordered online based on multiple reviews. Other than being heavy around 140 is the setup was easy. I was skeptical of a bed in a box but I'm a believer now.
I bought a larger bed frame and did extensive research to find a Cali King size mattress that was as comfortable as my previous set up. (A Serta firm coil mattress with a tempurpedic mattress topper). It was hard to find objective customer reviews online (I imagine Winkbeds only posts five star reviews on its own website). I chose a firm Winkbed mattress because of the great Wirecutter review.
Unfortunately the mattress took 15 days to arrive, and was so uncomfortable- like sleeping on concrete. It gave me severe shoulder pain, to the extent that I had to go to a chiropractor, physical therapist and MD multiple times. I didn't realize it was the mattress causing it until I slept on my old mattress in my guest room for a couple nights and the pain disappeared. The mattress was also so heavy that I could barely lift a corner to put sheets on the bed.
I requested a return. The rude customer service agent told me I had to wait 30 days to return it. I waited, it didn't improve, so I again requested a refund. The rep convinced me to pay $50 to upgrade to a luxury firm as a replacement, instead of getting a refund. I asked what would happen to the returned mattress since I'm concerned about environmental waste. The rep told me it would be donated. Two young kids came to pick it up a few days later, and dragged the mattress down the street. I asked what would happen to the mattress, and they said it would be destroyed, go to landfill, or maybe be cleaned and re-sold….
Winkbeds sent me the wrong replacement! It seemed like the same mattress and the tag said "firm." I sent a pic to the rep and he said it must have been mislabeled, and to check the manufacturing tag. It turned out not only was it a firm, it was also a King size mattress. Not Cali King.
I had to go through the entire return process again. I purchased the mattress on Feb 14th, and didn't get this resolved until April 26th. My shoulder and back pain got so bad I couldn't pick up my baby girl. The worst part was that the customer service reps never apologized once or acknowledged their error.
I ended up getting a Serta firm and Tempurpedic topper in Cali King, and it's amazingly comfortable. Wish I'd done that in the first place.
Normally I would not purchase something so expensive without being able to see it first. The ability to exchange the mattress to find the right one is what made me comfortable buying online.

We put on a topper -- one of us has a crap back (with extra crappiness) -- last time we changed beds, about a decade ago, it was $10K and three fancy mattresses. Not this time

Shopping experience was very easy to order. When the mattress arrived the box was in rough shape. Thankfully it looks like the mattress was unaffected. Painting the room before we use the mattress though so hoping that it was destroyed in shipment.

Answer: It was so bad. The firmer one felt like a concrete slab and gave me terrible back pain. I put it on a Rove Concepts bed frame that had slats. They convinced me to exchange it for a luxury firm but sent me the same firmer bed again, only in the wrong size. Customer service was appalling. I purchased the mattress on Feb 13,2023 and didn't get it resolved or get a refund until April 26,2023. I ended up getting what I had before on my old bed, which was SO comfortable- a firm Serta coil mattress with a tempurpedic mattress topper.

Answer: Big guy, 365lbs, twin xl, and after 13 months, it's really like new. It's softened just a bit, but no sagging or anything. I can tell because as I side sleep for an hour or so, my arm no longer falls asleep where my shoulder pushes down into the mattress. Best mattress purchase ever, works perfectly for me and being a big guy, I had almost given up hope.
