I decided to spend a one time fee of $19.95 to get a background report on an individual with whom I am familiar.
The data was years old and did not even supply a current address and phone number.
It also included data for another individual with the same first and last name in a different state (whose middle name was different, whose age and birth date was different).
This is a complete scam and a rip off. They should be ashamed of themselves for this.
They have been charging me $ 4.99 every month, from last 4 month (feb to may). I dont even use this website. Now I am looking for some solution so that I dont have to pay them anymore and get my money refunded
I know I'm old school & remember the days (not long ago) when the white pages was free. I only want a phone #. I could care less about Identity Checks. They only allow you a few searches per day. I even decided FINE I'll sign up for their Pro Search. They wanted my Business email, which I supplied 2 different business emails and they refused them. GREEDY little buggers!
With zero criminal offenses in my life and one traffic ticket in some 15 years, I was horrified to see my listing showing five offenses, and no recourse to find out what White pages was relying on. An altered listing then reported 13 background checks. Like I'm going to spend $ to see more crap?
Should not have to sign up for anything to get a public phone number. Stupid fake "information gathering" screen, that leads to another tease. Please don't pay memberships to these kinds of sites, or even singing up for some free option or trial version of these sites. It only keeps them relevant.
Paid a one time fee of 9.99 to get info on my sister so I could let her know that our brother is not will. White pages showed a cell number, I called and they never heard of her and told me they had that number for 5 years.
I just went online to look up information on an individual. I paid $29.00. When I clicked for this information they said they could not do it. So I paid for nothing. Called and complained within 5 minutes. They said they could only refund $9 of that money. They really had no information, not even address much less everything that was indicated. Definitely would never use this service again
If you just need a quick phone number, look elsewhere! This site takes FOREVER, then tries to sell you background info. Shows "progress bars (almost certainly meaningless,) then a "progress spinning circle," then offers to sell more than you need. Quite a shame... it seems white pages dot com USED to be a useful resource, sufficiently funded by minor advertisements. No more.
They compile and publish sensitive personal information without permission, thereby endangering innocent people. They should be sued. They have put me and my family in immediate danger multiple times and are aware of what they're doing. They graciously provide what they refer to as an 'opt out' then turn right around and recompile and republish everything again. They are unscrupulous and they need to be stopped before they cause the death of unaware innocent people.
This website will not give any free information regardless of what it claims. Those claims get you to answer an array of questions designed to help build its database with the information that you provided it with no intention of letting you see any of that information without first paying a premium. To pay the premium you will find that the information inside is outdated and very inaccurate. I did this search on myself knowing that I only have two relatives however the site shows me as having 31. Do not waste your time or money on this site
I signed up for this service back in November or so. Tried it, found it was highly inaccurate. So I cancelled the subscription. I was told I could try it free for 30 days. I talked to a representative and he assured me the subscription was cancelled. I've since checked and they have been charging me a monthly charge for the past 3 months. I've gone to my credit card company and they are removing the charges.
White pages premium is dishonest and inaccurate. Do NOT go near them.
Will also place this review on Google and SiteJabber. Spent the $10 for a basic report; gave me out of date landlines, no mobile phones (there were three) and almost nothing about family members. Worth about $1 to confirm what I already knew. Will not use them again.
Draw you in stating "free" reverse number lookup, then refer you to "partner Intellius". What a bunch of BS. Why can't the average person access free telephone databases like these scam artists do? Oh, that's right... Money, payola, bribes, etc. Wish I could give them zero stars.
They will not correct a business listing and have a automatic customer service support email that replies with the same thing no matter what you say when emailing *******@whitepages.com This type of site needs to be shutdown scamming people everyday.
Whitepages review - OK don't laugh. Im am not the most computer savy person and have just discovered this site where you can look up anyone for free. It is really neat because it not only lists their phone # and address but it will also give you a map and aerial photo of where they live! Too Cool
I wish you can rate this 0 stars. I'd do anything to get this site shut down. It DOES NOT show their current phone number now I can't get in touch with an ex friend. I should've read the reviews first and they charge your account again. I'll never lose my money for this site AGAIN!
Trying to track down a bad tenant and they don't even have his current address a year later. Didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. Needed to find out if my claims went on his credit report. I got no information for my money. Stay away from this ripoff site.
WHITEPAGES fraudulently renewed an old subscription eight months ago and began charging me $4.99 a month for services I didn't access, subscribe to or knew anything about. When I noticed the charges on my PayPal account recently, I reached out. So far, they've only refunded 4 payments instead of 8. Told me it's my responsibility to monitor my account... DUH! How in the hell do I monitor an account, I didn't know existed!? I requested documentation that supports that I renewed, subscribed or accessed their services in the last 8 months... haven't received anything as yet of course. I've escalated this to the FCC and will do the same with other applicable consumer protection agencies. I urge you to do the same. They are crooks and thieves... one star is generous!
Used to be that you could logon to the whitepages website and find an address and a phone number for the person you were looking for. Now you are inundated with requests to view that persons background information and sign up for monthly access to premium services. Oh but wait, there's more. As if that's not enough, they hammer you with subtle questions like, "Is Jane Doe over 30 years old?" They are sucking all the info they can out of you while you dig around on their site to try and find a silly phone number or address. The crazy thing is you could run downtown, find a "still" operating payphone, find the info in their phonebook faster than this stupid site.
Boo WhitePages.com Boo!
Gives you a certain amount of information that cant even $#*!ing help you. Charges 30 $#*!ing dollars! Than once you finally find who you want, the $#*! starts acting $#*!ed like it cant work, wont even search thoroughly and last but not least its a total $#*!ing Rip off. By all means $#*! THIS SITE. Waste of my damn money
Answer: No. The brain dead knuckle dragging thieves who run that shithole of a site couldn't program their way out of a bag of dog-dookie. Idiots.
