I had to take weather.com off my list of favorites. It takes forever to load, if at all, and half of the links lead to 404 pages. Given the reviews here, they have lost at least 3/4 of their users. You would think they would take the hint and fix the damn website.
Weather.com gives good forecasts, IF you can get to them. All the videos on every page make it so slow to load, even on a broadband connection, that I can't sit and wait for it. I want accuracte weather only, not a lot of videos, and I want it fast. Where did the great, original weather.com website go? Please bring it back!
The radar map is consistently inaccurate. The map shows no rain when it's raining and shows rain when it isn't. For a website that supposedly does nothing but weather, it's an extreme disappointment compared to other radar maps that are much more informative. Try to reduce your ads and try to be more focused on the weather which is supposed to be your main purpose.
I like the weather format but get pissed off every time I go to the site with the overwhelming number of ads, popups and stuff that covers the content. Searching for a better alternative.
I agree with what so many others have said about the unacceptable slowness of the site and the map. When people need weather reports, they need them now. If anyone knows of a better weather site, I would love to hear about it.
What can I say? This is the best place for everything related to weather, both my local weather and for traveling too. As an avid golfer, the weather is critical in my life. All the local "news and weather" sites are slow to load and are peppered with popups and nonsense. This site will give you exactly what you need, quickly and without a hassle. I also love the extended forecasts they give. They also have a cool desktop icon if you really need weather on-demand, like if you work outdoors or do things that keep you outdoors a lot like me :)
I have broadband Internet at 125 Mbps download and this is the only site that takes forever to load, if at all. It's sad because this was always my go-to site for weather. I'll use other weather sites because they actually load the page quickly.
In addition to the already great reviews of this site, the feature I love the most is the hour by hour forecast section. As a motorcycle rider, I like to know what to expect and when to expect it.
So if you click on hour by hour tab after you simply enter the zip code of the weather location you would like information on you will get a detailed hour by hour breakdown. I love this feature.
I use this site 2 times a day, once in the AM to decide if I am riding and once near the end of my work day to determine the best time to leave. Give it a try.
I've been traveling for over 6 months around the world and obviously planning legs of my trip relies heavily on weather. Weather.com S-S-S-SUCKS *all caps!
With large cities it's great (as good as a weatherman let's say), but get 100 km outside and it won't even recognize the name of the city in their search - in fact, I pulled up the map on their own website, then while looking directly at the city on their map and using their own search function, it says "cannot find the city"... WTF? Anyway, super disappointed. Good luck and hope y'all get it up to speed. For way better results hit up weatherunderground.com - safe travels and may your days be sunny and warm! ;)
I am desperately looking for another weather site. We have used this one forever but it takes forever to load and if you try to click on the page you want, to soon, an add will suddenly be under where you clicked and you will be redirected to the add. Then you have to wait forever for your original page to reload again! I hate this website.
How can it be possible that i skip the weather in the mornings 9 times out of 10? I think it must be my PC, an AMD 6 core 3ghz system with 32 gigs of ram just doesn't cut it any more. Oh, also get 150mbps down on internet. Uhm.
Fix your site people!
I used the Weather.com site for years, but now it is so slow that it is unusable. It takes so long to load that you need 1/2 hour to get a few updates. I can't believe they let it get this bad. Stop all of the HD videos and crapware. Same issue on my windows laptop and my Android phone... Site is useless.
I've used weather.com happily on my Samsung for years but they really screwed the pooch now. The site is abyssmaly slow and now has stopped working. Even when it was still working, about half the screen was cluttered with ads. Ok, they're entitled to pay the bills somehow, but the marketeers have gone beserk now. Although I can't prove it, the degradation over time seems directly proportional to the amount of cr*p they cram into it. I've given up on them and now use Accuweather (at least until they get greedy too).
Advertisements to see the radar. Fantastic especially during a tornado. You $#*!s. I get you need revenue, but you would think that during emergency storm situations they would reel it in a bit.
As many have experienced, there are more ads than weather content. And scrolling or mousing pretty much anywhere leads to more ads, highlights, etc that change the screen - so you inadvertently click on an ad. When you finally to get to click on a city you want to go to, the screen goes blank - no info is brought up. So, I can't even find so much as a temperature of the city I want to see. This site is nothing more than a clickbait sham. I'm very disappointed that IBM would be associated with this or put out such a bad product. I'm done with Weather.com
It was already bad, having to wait well over a minute to transfer ad content, but now after 3 minutes it was still waiting... this is unusable. Since this is deliberate, I believe the management got sold a bill of goods to increase revenue and is congratulating some manager for making a good decision... but it is clear they are too stupid to recognize what has happened. That tells me that if they cannot have a funtional web site, their ability to forcast the weather is also suspect.
Page loads the slowest of any website I have ever used. They are more concerned about advertisements than they are the weather. Try to switch locations, forget about it, page slows down even more as impossible as that seems...
I'm a weather nut, and have been glued to the weather channel since it came out, But Weather.com is the slowest site I have ever seen... It also taxes my computer way more than any other site. I have a very fast computer, and download speeds of 240mb/s as far as internet speed, yet this page never loads in a timely fashion.
If there was a tornado warning i needed to see, it would be too late by the time your page loaded, haha. Sorry Weather Channel, but unless I'm watching TV, I'm done with you!
Ads, ads, ads and any useful information, like hourly forecast for the coming week, require you to pay for their premium service. Used to be our go to place for weather information at home or on the road, now we use wunderground. It's everything that weather.com isn't, but should be.
There was a time that Weather.com was a useful source of weather related information. The site has become absolutely useless. The ads and scripts make finding information impossible and the site's responsiveness is absolutely horrible. It's too bad - this used to be the place to go for weather updates. Obviously, the revenue from the ads has outweighed the overall goal of the website of providing reliable weather information. Too bad.
Answer: Won't get any better. They now force you to turn off your ad blocker or you can't use the site. Move on!
Answer: That's not a question.
Weather.com has a rating of 1.2 stars from 269 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Weather.com most frequently mention many ads, day forecast and high speed. Weather.com ranks 46th among Weather sites.
