The rep arguing with me about a transaction I made and cancelled on the same day through Western Union she telling me I received the money and I didn't then I asked to speak to a supervisor she put me on hold to tell me they all in a meeting I'm so pissed then I got transferred and the next rep tells me to call back in 2 hours I'm so disappointed she made me feel as if I was just making something up to get a refund back no place will allow u to get your money refunded back to u the same day if I could not put a star I wouldn't just disappointed in Walmart itself.
I made a transaction to WALMART.COM with my WALMART green dot card, immediately canceled the transaction because I meant to use my other card and that card was saved in my app and chose the green dot card. I canceled it and got the receipt, they said a prepaid card would refund up to an hour later, worst case a bank card up to 3 days. It has been 13 days and they still keep hanging up the phone on customer service, don't speak English well, sound like they are in the car on the freeway. Oh and keep changing the refund date. DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES. A NIGHTMARE!
I've had the Walmart money card for a few years. I hadn't a too many problems until now. First, I had trouble getting them to send a new card to my current address. They still had my old one from when I first opened. I changed it with them when I moved. When I called to notify I hadn't received the new card, I was told that it sent to the right address. I told them that I didn't live at the old address and changed with them when I moved. They said they had no record. Now, I would to email them several documents and wait 2-6 weeks to approve the address change. In the mean time, I was eligible again to get a normal bank account. So I did. I called again about transferring my money over to the new account. After frustrating hour, I was finally told I could only transfer money to another Walmart card or spend it down. Then I close the account. I don't like that I didn't have control of my information and money. It's not at all like they advertised. Thankfully there's other and better options out now than few years ago. Avoid if you can, they are in control not you.
Be careful using this place I bought my daughter one for her birthday and put 75 dollars on it she tried using it at king soopers it was declined and king soopers even called corporate for me and the money was never taken out from the store but green dot still took the money and when I called them every single person I talked to was rude even the supervisor and they are refusing to put the money back on even the manager of the store tried explaining to them the money was not taken out at the store and the guy on the phone wouldn't even listen to him kept cutting him off and then had the nerve to tell me to look at my account on the phone and tells me "CANT YOU SEE WITH YOUR EYES THE MONEY WAS USED AT KING SOOPERS" like what who are u and what kind of company is this well they are thefts and now the card is saying I'm in the negative of 11 dollars cause they are adding 5 dollars a month well u can keep adding that on there cause you won't be getting any money from me your company owes me 75 take it out of that
We have banked with these fools for over a decade and it's never been worth it. The straw that broke the camel's back occurred on August 5,2023. Our card was compromised so we promptly reported it and had the old card canceled. We were told the new card would come in 7-10 business days, which was fine because our bills are due on the first and we had paid all of them. My husband's direct deposits go in on the 1st and 15th so we had plenty of time in that 7-10 business days to get the new cards, get them activated, and go on with our lives. After day 10, I called and they said something about a system error and they sent out a second card (charging me $3). After day 16 and still no cards, I called again. They didn't charge me this time but still no cards. I am at day 20 and no cards. It is August 29 and my bills are due in a couple days. I have over $3400 in my account and no way to access it. The power, light, and mortgage companies don't take "I haven't received a replacement debit card" as an excuse. I can't use the routing numbers either until the new card (that I don't think even exists) shows up and is activated. We plan to cancel our account as soon as we move the money. I will never use GreenDot ever again.
I've had to call customer service numerous times about the photo deposit. I've had MANY problems with them just don't like to deal wit customer service often. CUSTOMER SERVICE DOESNT HELP AT ALL, just some rehearsed saying they say to everyone. The 1st couple of times I deposited my check, because I don't want to be out and about with the Corona going on, it's bad enough I have to work in it, it worked with flying colors, this time and the time before has just been stressful and really makes me want to go elsewhere! I actually had to cash the check after trying at least 30 times for them to "read" it and just said forget it. The time after that, now it's going to take "SEVEN" days in order for them to give me money and yet I can't cancel it! It was really outrageous to have to wait 7 days for a check you just waited 7 days for! MAKE IT MAKE SENSE! I wouldn't have deposited it if I knew this was going to happen! Very irritate at this point!
Will never use this card, or any type of Wal-Mart product again. Had this card for 3 years, and it was only due to the fact that I loaded thousands of dollars on there only to find out there was no way to transfer out to my bank account/saving account. Over the 3 year period I have experienced terrible customer service (no one in the United States), no way to actually truly get a $0 fee at the Wal-Mart ATM machine, and there is literally but 2 Wal-Mart ATM Machines in a given 50 mile radius. I was not able to ever transfer money or pay bills. Now that I am at a $0 balance, they are refusing to close my account, and in the meantime they are continually charging $5 month on my Zero balance. It has not been 3 months of a zero balance and I have paid $15 while trying to close this account. They want you to write snail mail letters, and have no online way to dispute issues. They do not dispute unrecognizable charges either. They stopped the dispute department a few months ago. PLEASE DO NOT GET THIS CARD!
For the most part I've enjoyed the Walmart card but there is one main, and very serious issue I've found that Greendot bank (walmart cards bank) WONT care to help you with. Both on my TurboTax card as well as my walmart card (both go through the same bank, Greendot) have had fraudulent charges on them and their bank did not help at all. They determined all charges were valid when they weren't, BOTH times. I've had the walmart money card for YEARS and never had to submit for fraudulent charges and when I did, they denied me. Money I had to lose out on. On top of that, I got the new card with new numbers with our walmart card and yet our old card has been charged still. How exactly is that possible? It's not very often this happens but one specific place it works at is door dash. They charge our old card, shows the old card number but yet our account is charged still. That tells me the fraud system set up with Greendot is not safe at all. This is probably the most important thing to look at when it comes to getting a card through any bank. Be careful and don't expect Walmart to help you with fraudulent charges! We plan to go to a new bank. Even my credit card is more secure than greendot.
I have had a Walmart money card for 5 years now and never had any problem in the past. The customer service always sucked and I agree with the other reviews it is hard to understand what the people at their call centers is saying, they do not speak good English, which I do not understand. How can they help me if they don't understand what I'm saying. Fast forward my account got hacked not once but twice, the first time right after Christmas and then the second time right after new years and I did everything they said I went and purchased a different card, I changed my password and I locked my card. And none of it helped, the hacker was able to change my information on my account like my phone number and email address and they was able to transfer my money from my account to a eft account. I advise anyone to do not get a Walmart MoneyCard because they should have alittle more security and protection, and they finished their investigation and still didn't have any information but they did send me a check that I haven't cashed yet because Walmart won't cash it even though it came from green dot bank so tomorrow I gotta go to a real bank in hopes of them cashing it. I take my information very seriously and I'm a private person so to have my personal information out there with some hacker is horrifying and I feel they failed me. Please do not get a Walmart MoneyCard it's not worth it, I feel like my cash app card got better security then this one. I don't know if it is someone that works at Walmart or someone else either way I'm done with Walmart MoneyCard and maybe even Walmart all together.
DONT DO IT RIP OFF. Look this card is a rip off. They charge you a hell'va of alot of fees on ovedraft protection. If you place a delivery order and the deliver doesn't show up they put you thru hell about getting a refund. Place order June 14th 2023 never got order they place a pending refund dated for June 26,2023, I ve been without food ever since and they don't give a dam. This is stealing Ive told all my employees to get rid of this card as we will no longer be doing any business with Walmart delivery any,more SHIPT (WINNDIXIE) & PUBLIX much more reliable stick with Walmart money card and this could be you next. Also there Portal for checking Balances doesn't work half the time. All these SOB will offer is a $10.00 promo card while Im sitting here starving $#*! Walmart. If you want to torture someone get them a Walmart moneycard. All I can say is I spent 4days dealing with rude Walmart associates and if it wasn't for Brenda Casteel Perry at Lovejoy Walmart I would probably still dealing with that idiocy
So I looked up online for pre paid cards and Green Dot came up as a well recommended card for use. Well I purchased two cards on the 26th of Dec,$500.00 on each card. The first one went as planned was able to set up my acct and use. Two days later on the 29th I decided to activate the other card, well here we go so after trying multiple times to activate card it said that I had to enter valid card info. After driving back to the Hartford Ct Walmart and dealing with the attitude of Victoria the manager in charge who should play NBA basketball cause her spin around juke move is definitely NBA status. Then since no one at the money center (where I purchased the card) could be of any help. I then had to go online to trace down a live agent at green dot, who then after going back and forth told me that there was a problem with my card number (wow you mean the same thing ive been saying for two days). Then to make it all better they informed me that it would take them 2 weeks to issue me a refund check, no way to just fix it in the system I'm just screwed SMH. So thank you Walmart and green dot for tying up a working guys money on new years eve. I also just wanted to suggest that you get some live people on the phones and less rude people at Walmart. I guess when all you do is turn up your nose at the customers that pay your paycheck you just get used to doing it to everyone that walks through the door.
Today I checked my account because I had a missed call (they called me successfully 4 times in a row, I'm an in home nurse so I couldn't answer) I stepped outside to have a smoke and while I was waiting I checked my account and it showed a fraudulent post disappeared but money was not returned) so I asked the agent where my money was and he asked the amount, I said not sure if the amount, (mind you incredibly frustrated I had a very bad day) he gets sharp and says "you don't even know the amount?" So I asked if he was getting short with me haha he started stuttering like porky pig so I asked again "are you getting short with me?" He asks me to stay professional so I respond you are a hypocrite dude! Just hung up on the dude. Still waiting for a phone survey, let's hope for your case I don't get one haha! Y'all lucky I was on break at work or I would've waited for a manager! He got worried when I said I have to go back to my patient so you're lucky I don't have time to wait for a manager. :)
When I call Walmart money card customer service is very hard to understand the script that they are reading the script works for maybe two questions and then that's it cuz they just keep reading the script where they left off and when you interrupt them they'll stop and go back where they to the first paragraph of where they left off to start reading the script again it's very hard to understand what they're saying they have no clue what you're talking about they just read the script and when you ask him a question or interrupt them just start reading this script again the dialect is real bad can't understand what they're saying very annoying Walmart money cards are just $#*!ing very annoying. I have freedom of speech and I will say what I want to say and it is not a false review the agents customer service are terrible they have no clue what you're talking about they're just reading the script it's not against the law to say what you feel on your mind early and written down speech I have the right
I have had the Walmart MoneyCard for almost 4 years and until this weekend I would have recommended it. Apparently, my card was compromised and a $200 unauthorized ATM withdrawal was made. I called the next morning to dispute the charge. The next day I received an email stating that after a "thorough investigation" my dispute was denied. I again called to obtain the specifics and was told I would need to place another dispute as the first was auto generated. I was given a case # and told if it would take more than 10 days I would receive a provisional refund. I was also told that I would need to prove where I was when the charges were placed. Since this took place on the WE and we are in a pandemic, there is no way for me to prove anything. I again received an e-mail stating that after thoroughly investigating my dispute was denied. I made 8 calls to speak with someone for help and was either hung up on, left on hold or call was dropped during transfer. Funny that the withdrawal was supposedly made at 12am however the establishment with the ATM is closed at that time. No one, including myself, could have used that ATM at that time. DON'T GET A WALMART MONEYCARD, plain and simple.
First of all they lost my 1200 stimulus they said they investigated it and denied my claim and also they wouldn't let me change my address on my account. Recently there have been alot of duplicate charges and random charges that aren't mine. So now I was disputing a charge, and after that there was a random$75 charge. Next thing I know I can't access my account. I spent a whole day trying to get ahold of these people. Hours waiting for someone to get on the phone, they transferred me over and over and hung up on me. So what they are saying is they can't unlock my account that they locked without talking to me. They said they are going to send me a check for the amount left in my account. They are doing some shady stuff. They have all my personal information. I don't know what to do the check is going to take 2-3 weeks they say. I now can't pay my rent or buy food. Nothing! They locked me out of my account! After pressing ok the app closes. I can't touch my money. These people are scammers there are so many lawsuits against them/ green dot bank and Go bank they are all run by the same people
Daughter gave to me as a gift card. Didn't know it charged monthly fees every month. By the time I used it only $1.24 was left. What a rip off!

Walmart money network said there were inconsistencies in my case. Okay tell me how one phone call explaining the issue and you having me answer the same questions the same way is inconsistent? I had two fraudulent charges and filed a claim. I did everything on my end as 2 transactions were made at a CVS in a totally different city while I was on the clock at work and made purchase throughout my day. When I follow what the letter says to do in order to appeal I get told to email that I'd like to appeal they give me an email address. The first one was fake. The second one told me to include a photo of my letter and the email address was totally different. Funny it had our symbol word Spark. Is this supposed to be cute? I want my money back. I've contacted my lawyer.
