They charge you $6.00 after you have completed the entire process and are at the final payment page. What's the point of advertising it's cheap when they cover up the cost somewhere else. Shame on Walmart for using such tactics. Wish there was an option to pick no star for the ratings
I have ordered from them several times. Although shipping is slow, the checks work great. They use Hy Clark as their check vendor. They exact same check were $60 for 200 at HC website, but about $30 at Walmart Checks. Watch the processing fees which got expensive for things like check registers. Noticed the processing fee went down, when I chose the shipping with tracking, making it an acceptable fee. They will not reprint checks, so have an old check before ordering.
I Clicked an add for $7.62 Walmart Checks - Yah right-what a ripoff - can't believe Wal*Mart has their name attached to this scam. Stay Away! Bait & Switch - Free Shipping but Processing is NOT optional.
Subtotal $13.92 Shipping: INCLUDED
Processing $6.92 State Sales Tax (9.75%): $2.03 Order total:$22.87
I was pretty happy with the choices and the overall cost. I haven't received the checks yet. My complaint is that the processing fee isn't revealed until you've put time into entering your routing #, account #, etc. They lay out all the other costs very carefully, so it seems very deceptive to not reveal the processing fee until the end. The overall price still seems ok- just make it clear what you're charging the customer!
Horrible service. They are NO HELP! They lie, and make you pay extra for fast shipping then have BS reasons why they can't ship them out until the NORMAL DAY IT WOULD HAVE CAME IF I JUST PAID THE SAME AMOUNT! NEVER EVER EVER USE GOD DAMN WALMART FOR CHECKS THEY ARE CRIMINAL AND LAZY!
I ordered the Star Wars classic checks. They look very different than they do on the website. The pictures are very, very faded and the print quality is very cheap and looks terrible. It looks like my 8-year-old niece printed them on her computer. I immediately asked for a refund and will never order from Walmart checks again.
I will continue to order from here. I thought it was inexpensive and the service was fine. I wasn't in a rush, just wanted some pre-printed deposit slips. Came back today to order checks and have recommended to friends that have been satisfied with the service too.
After I ordered my checks, I read all the negative reviews and was quite worried. But I am here to say I was quite pleased with my experience. For the first time ever in my life, I have Star Trek: The Original Series checks! I am thrilled and it did not cost me an arm & a leg nor were they difficult to order. I got them in one week and everything was correct. I got to choose my font for $1 and a message for another $1. If you go with the standard font and no message you will save $2 right there. The message is pretty small but I can live with that. Despite all the extras, my checks were still cheaper than the banks. The only reason they got 4 out of 5 stars is because they do not tell you any information on the status of your order. There is no contact information on the website nor do they give you any clue on how to contact them on their website so you can make sure your order has been received. (Other than they debit your acct right away.) I did notice that the debit information does include a phone number but I did not get a chance to try the numer to see if it worked. I will happily reorder from Wal-Mart, again. And will recommend them to friends and family!
Just needed 1 box of checks and $10 looked good. Got all the way to check out and they added a Processing Fee. The only thing they do is print checks. There shouldn't be an extra fee. Cancelled and order from Costco.
My bank offers "free" checks... with a $13+ shipping fee!. All the cheap check printers I tried had lots of extra fees tacked-on at checkout and/or had HORRIBLE ratings (look for bradfordexchange for scary reviews). On my $7.46 order, WM free shipping is a 3 week wait, AND they still added a $3.36 "processing fee" plus $0.65 in tax. $11.47 total seems to be as low as it gets... Ugh, just glad to get this over with. Check printing seems to be a sleazy business...
Walmart highlights its free shipping. But only after I went to the effort of inputting all the info for my checks did my cart display a $9.96 processing fee. While the price still was competitive, that deceptive approach to business was enough to make me cancel my order and go elsewhere. So I cannot comment on the final product.
We ordered 300 checks and they came in two separate packages about a week apart. No problem. We looked over the checks to make sure our name, address, account info is correct. Everything is good. The next day I got 58 spam emails for credit cards, hot girls, loose women and anything else you could imagine. The next day I got 62 spam emails and they just keep coming everyday. These checks are good quality for a good price and deliver was on time, but get another email account to use when you order. Don't use your everyday email account.
The process of ordering was pretty simple. The advertising is very deceiving. The check I picked out for my daughter were a great deal, so I thought. You get quoted a price but during checkout my price actually doubled after shipping fee, processing fee and tax! DOUBLED, thats deceptive marketing but we are talking about Walmart!
Like everyone else who shops at Walmart, I'm looking for a good price. The advertise price is $7.97 but then they hit you with a four dollar "processing fee". Why not just be decent and honest, and give me the real price in the beginning.
I have ordered check from Walmart for many years and every time that I order I become more dissatisfied. Duplicate checks (I cannot speak for non-duplicate) do not tear properly. The perforation does not insure a straight tear. Pricing keeps going up each time that I order - The most annoying part of this process is the non-disclosure of a processing fee until the very end of the ordering process. This is too bad because I'm generally satisfied with the design choices. Today, I have decided to order my future checks from a different company.
First time I've ordered checks from Walmart. Glad I did not read all the negative reviews or I probably would not have tried them. Ordered them online at 11 am 12/29, at noon 12/30 received email stating order had shipped. Even with Jan 1 being a holiday I received 3 of 4 of my packages of checks on 1/3 and my fourth package arrived 1/7. I only had standard shipping, so was completely impressed with how fast I received them. Love the German Shepherd pictures and had no issues with any of the check info. If I paid attention to all the negative reviews of places I have ordered from online, I would probably never ordered anything. Have never been nothing but pleased with all my experiences.
I have been ordering my checks from Walmart for 15 years, but after this last experience I will never be going back.
They lost my checks in the mail and then told me it was my fault for not ordering trackable shipping. Everything sent in the mail has tracking... everything. And here's walmart over here trying to up charge me to add tracking to BANK CHECKS! Are you even serious?! So when my order just doesn't show up I'm told they will re-send but I have to wait another 3 weeks for them to come AND they charge me for the freaking tracking.
Worthless. Not ordering a single thing from Walmart.com ever again.
When I placed my order, I carefully reviewed my info and it was correct and in proper format. When I received the checks, the dashes were left out of my phone number. Now there is a straight line of numbers, which looks horrible. Who ever reviewed my order to print it, should have either contacted me or used common sense and known it was a phone number and put the dashes in. However, they probably do not have an actual person reviewing the information, but a computer reviewing it. This is the problem with the overuse of technology, and under utilization of human workers. The computer cannot differentiate and leaves out things like dashes. The print used for my name and address is extremely small. It looks very unprofessional. Like all other product's Walmart offers, it is very low quality and I should have known better. The price is low for a reason, poor quality. You get what you pay for. Meanwhile the price of their groceries and good they sell, continue to rise and quality continues to go down. Walmart has become an extreme disappointment as well as a greedy corporation that refuses to pay workers benefits despite their billions in profits. I will use a local, small town grocery store from now on and order checks through my bank. There wasn't any place on the Walmart checks site to give feedback. That says a lot right there.
Have yet to get one to tear out of the book without it ripping up. Have tried every possible thing I could think of. Bending top of the book, creasing, etc. Looks horrible when you send a check that has to be taped up and I don't know how many I've had to void.
Checks never received. Tracking info was a broken link. No one could locate any info on my checks other than that they were sent. Ended up closing my checking account since checks with routing info were in the wild. Big pain.
Answer: Poorly organized customer service operation. Left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Customer service reps on phone do not know how to think for themselves. Sure, they can ask you your name and phone number and tell you where to fill in your profile details, but as soon as the first roadblock hits (and THERE ARE SEVERAL) these CSR people don't know squat. They kept telling me my bank did not exist because the routing number I gave them could not be verfied with their own computer software. They were wrong... bank has been in business 45 years! At that point, and after several HOURS of additional phone calls with L-O-N-G wait times on hold, I still kept getting the same ignorant responses like "our bank department hasn't answered our messages yet." So they just leave your order stranded - in limbo - with no consideration to even attempt to investigate or give me a follow-up phone call. I paid for Walmart printed check orders 3 times in the past 7 years, so I can tell you for sure that this company is now hiring blooming idiots that are not smart enough to take ownership of specific problem and contact other people and departments in their company to help resolving the issues. Worst customer ever! So I called my bank, and was shocked to learn that if I just ordered my simple, duplicate checks (carbon copy of each) with plain safety paper and no frills designs, that it would only cost me $21 and take about 10 days to 2 weeks to send. Walmart wanted $29, which was a huge price increase since my last order which was $19.
