Yes, even worse than the Samsung that spontaneously shunts you to their own channel with no instructions on how to get back to watching real TV. But enough about Samsung...
I bought a small Visio for a small space, just so I can watch DVDs while walking on the treadmill. It worked fine for the first 6 months, though when it decided to do an update in the middle of your program, you were stuck.
The updates kept on coming, each one worse than the last. It got to where I had to call tech support after every update just to get the set working again. Unless you only wanted to watch the Vizio channel--that always works perfectly.
It finally got to the point where tech support could no longer fix it. I have contacted at least four different agents, jumped through hoops for uncounted hours, endured 4 updates, 4 unplugs, 39 channel searches, and a factory reset. And still the thing can not see the DVD player (or the satellite, though I have since discontinued that service).
The worst part is the fact that Vizio themselves screwed it up, though they refuse to take any responsibility (of course, by then the warranty had run out). A company that makes a product, sells it, and then later remotely damages its functionality is not a company I want to deal with. Not ever again.
This is the middle of the line product for Vizio and my fourth television in the past 10 years the picture in the quality is excellent. One minor irritant to me is instead of adding the apps I want it has over 100 apps already on screen but you can pick the ones you actually use and put them in the front. My bucket list is one day to get the P-Series. Cannot imagine if it could improve over the m series
Bought 70" Vizio smart (sarcastic) TV. Had it six months or a little less. Screen went black. Called visio and they sent repairman out; wanted to send me refurbished. Told them if I had wanted a refurbished TV I had the option to do so and would have liked to save the money. After a couple of months I went back to WalMart and talked to store mgr and explained my position. He stated he would work with me yet he hated for Vizio not to share some of the responsibility and for me to go ahead and accept refurbished. I did. Manager allowed me to go to their website and order TV of my choice (obviously I wanted nothing more to do with Vizio) and he applied my purchase price I paid for the Vizio toward the new TV. Had it been left to Vizio I would have had to take the refurbished, but there are people in the public sector that knows what is right vs wrong. I deeply thank Walmart Store Mgr.
I bought a 24" smart HDTV and must say it got lots of features at the low price I purchased that TV. The shipment arrived promptly. One issue I had is the remote control. It simply stopped working after 2 months. I called customer service who told me to switch batteries twice and read aloud the expiration date of the batteries before inserting them and press some buttons. After it was clear the remote control isn't working I got promised a replacement ASAP. It took almost 2 weeks for the remote to arrive. Besides, no other issues.
BTW: I earned a little reward, a free foldable bottle withe VIZIO logo.
Vizio does NOT stand behind their warranty with the Co Star stream player. I have had nothing but trouble with this from the 2nd month I bought it. Buffering and shows about 2 mins. Of program and just sets and buffers. They want you to move everything around so your router is within 25 feet of tv. ( which on the box it does not say anywhere it has to be that close) if it had I would not of bought it. They won't exchange it nor refund money. This will diffently be the last piece of Vizo I will be buying and I will tell everyone that listens about their bogus warranty.
