Customer service sucks. Everyone is very rude from management on down. They do not treat you as a laying customer. They take extra payments after you paid off your contract and refuse to end service. The equipment does not work. People show up and the camera never acknowledge them. If I could rate in the negative numbers I most definitely will to highest power and then multiply that again.
I've had nothing but problems with my equipment (window sensors frequently go offline, outdoor camera is offline and can't be fixed even though they have come out 4 times, door lock had to be replaced and keypad was installed with the wrong gauge wiring) and service. The only thing they are consistent with is the monthly bill. Even though they know my system does not work and cannot be monitored while devices are "offline", they keep charging me and told me I would have to pay for 5 years of monitoring if i cancel. I also cannot get a refund on my equipment. It's also important to know that my system has only been installed for 4 months and these problems started after the 2nd week. I have much more I could elaborate on but they've already wasted a ton of my time. Do yourself a big favor and run away from this horrible company.
The cameras never worked and froze constantly when someone was outside my door. If my Vivint security alarm went off my system would automaticly freeze, locking me out of my app. It was unreliable for many reasons. My neighbor mowed my lawn while I was out of town and there is no recording of him ever being on my property. The sales representatives are trained scammers that lie, bend the truth, and leave out important information when you sign your contract. Vivint is a company built around lies, deception, and harassment. You steal money from hardworking individuals and you prey on the elderly.
Since day one of purchasing vibrant, they have done nothing but lie! Customer service is terrible you jus about have to threaten them with legal action to get something accomplished! The get you in the contract and squeeze you! They also say lifetime warranty on all equipment no matter what my back camera has been out for three months, after two technicians visit it still isn't fixed! Customer service told me that camera is no longer available and not under warranty, but can replace it for 400 dollars! The camera I have now has only lasted a year and a half. The sales man will rip you off and lie to you also! Promising more free cameras in my package, nothing is free from Vivint the charge for everything. And the salesman makes all kinds of promises and prices to make it seem affordable, but after installing the system they knock you over the head with marked up prices! A dishonest company! Beware
We have had this service for well over three years only because they will not allow us to cancel our contract without thousands of dollars in penalties. The system has not properly worked. We had to get a second alarm system installed to make us feel safe. We are still paying for their service or non working service I should say. Please run from this company then they try to charge you $100 for a tech to come out to fix the problem. The problem only stays fixed for a couple of days and then you're back to square one something doesn't work please Don't waste your time, energy or money with this company
One of the worst companies. Own your equipment. Very Expensive,. Low quality install. 3 plus hours for unarmed security guard to show up - not police. Cannot use equipment without a contract with them. It's stupid. Go with ADT or if you want your own system, buy from Costco. I am extremely frustrated with Vivint and would never recommend to anyone. The worst customer service. 5 phone calls and 7 weeks to cancel service. Do not do business with them.
I have been trying to get a system installed, they billed me 3 times in first 7 days, I called 10 days ago and they agreed it was an error and to give credit for those charges, never happened... Two weeks ago they came out and installed doorbell camera and then said he forgot the rest of equipment and needs to reschedule. Today was the reschedule, just received an email of cancellation, thus I waited all day for nothing. Now I am on hold for 29 minutes and 24 back on the live chat button. POS company :(
Every time I have issues their thermostat each person transfers to the other representative and ultimately they ask me to call google nest or an HVAC technician. They do not provide any kind of technical visit support may it be for doors or sensors or thermostat unlike ADT which do send technicians for on site fixes as required.
I use multiple different companies due to my scope of worm in real estate and if you think of buying vivint just rather pay less and buy it yourself through amazon then by from vivint.
Sales man never told me that you are basically getting a line of credit from citizens bank for your equipment and paying Vivint to monitor. I still haven't received any notification of my contract and online surely doesn't help. I'm upset because that was not explained in dept. i basically added two bills in place of one when I was already with another security company. It sucks. I will continue to pay citizens but I will have my old security company monitor my property. #Cant trust them
This company has the worst software. It ignores cars, certain people in dressed in uniform colors, it picks as swarming insects as people, the equipment is constantly updating and then it goes off line for days with no reason. The customer service response is extremely bad do not know where they are at but south china sea would be about right. They install equipment only part of the way and do not finish for months and then it is too late to cancel. Worst purchase ever made. Complete scam
This company is a scam. Seems to be a common theme for many companies these days. Their equipment is trash and barely works. The rely on your electric and wifi for their product to work. The cameras and doorbell ring goes offline every two days no matter if we have internet or not. They, of course, don't take any accountability for their equipment and wants me to take accountability that I signed a weak contract that states they gave a generous grace period of three days. Three days to figure out your company is terrible and guess what does not matter you still have to be bullied into paying off the entire amount or let them"help you" by bringing tech after tech "free of charge" to fix their bogus stuff. It's not free of charge when i paid for this to work wow.
Vivint is the most horrendous company I've ever encountered. I canceled my services due to moving after years of having them. They Cj fined cancelling and said I owed nothing now I'm getting calls every day from them. Not only that but the people in my old home that moved in cannot get rid of the equipment I've called and so have they, Vivint refuses to remove it. They says they will have a manager call you back and they never do. They are the worst people stay far away. Now they are putting me into collections, I'm 31 and have never been late on a bill or Into collections in my life and they won't even say why
To summarize, I looked into Vivint in 2020. They screwed up the initial install of the system and had to return multiple times. I attached a photo of what they did to my wiring panel. On one of the returned visits, the installer told me that a worker from another area (seasonal) and if he came back again, I would have to pay for his gas. It was all I could do not to immediately kick his butt out of my house. I decided to cancel the service within about 30 days. They began harassing me, I kept telling them to come and get their equipment, but they wouldn't. The harassment stopped after a few months which was fine. Then, last week, out of the blue, I began receiving daily 'The System Has Not Been Armed' email messages. Don't know what triggered this to start. I replied that I don't have their security but the messages keep coming... save yourself time and A LOT of aggravation and skip this company.
Constantly a pain. Batteries don't last on any of their $#*!. They never come out to fix anything. Can't use the leave house alarm cause of animals. Don't offer any of the new $#*! to old customers. We want cameras too. Ring would be better and that's what I'm looking at now.
I really hate this company. They are so frustrating and their contracts are awful. If you have autopay and update your payment (let's say if you changed your card), and it doesn't go through, you get NO notification about it, and therefore don't have an opportunity to fix it. You only find out about it after the next pay cycle occurs and they charge you for both months plus a late fee. You can't opt out of their surveillance service unless you buy out their equipment which is absolutely ridiculous. Their equipment is over the top expensive and triple or quadruple the price then it should be. So you're stuck paying for years and can't break away from them. It sucks.
You're better off with Ring. Save yourself and don't bother with this company.
If you want a total disaster and agony, move forward. They have good and impressive technology which is deceiving, but when it comes to the actual work and installation, they have NO idea what the heck they are doing. I hate to write bad reviews for anyone, but this was a total frustration. We had an old security system and wanted to upgrade to a better and newer system so decided to use Vivint. I should have checked the reviews too and that was my fault. This clueless technician came and after spending 3.5 hours of not knowing what to do and wasting our time, damaged all the old equipment (cut out bunch of wires and damaged a transformer) that were perfectly working but was just an older system. Finally, I stopped him, and asked them to send a second technician and then the second guy said they can't do our house and it was also too big for them. They left everything cut and damaged after so much wasted time. Again, an absolute headache, damage and extra costs. STAY AWAY!
I moved into a new home with an existing contract. The devices are slow and constantly have issues with connectivity and performance. I consider this a breach of contract on the part of Vivint, but they claim the only way to terminate the contract is to pay the total remainder in one lump sum (over $1500). I'm paying $88 a month for a system that doesn't work, and there is little that I can do to change that. My camera monitoring often goes offline for months at a time and my thermostat does not follow its set program. Any time I have a technician out, they just restart the system and say "it should work a LITTLE better now". I'm so frustrated with this company and the amount of time they've taken away from me.
I made a horrible decision and left our local alarm company for this company. From day 1 it has been a nightmare, i paid the rep in cash for the system, he signed the sales agreement where it was notated the cash payment.
They charged me anyway saying that was not proof of payment, turned out the guy that sold us on Vivint was a contract employee. He did a door knock and sold us on the idea, bad idea.
I recently had some window sensors that were bad so they came and replaced some, my monthly bill jumped 45 %, i had asked for an invoice to show me cost etc. I finally got one today - 2 years later.
Like pulling teeth, just got off the phone with them and expressed my displeasure with their company.
I would suggest to run away from these folks stick with a local company that really cares about your service and billing. It's funny when i mentioned i'd like to cancel this contract and what is the process, the young lady said "i would cancel it also if i were you"!
Gotta love it
Not fan, there is a 60 month obligation contract whether you actually use the service or not. Also, equipment malfunctions, has poor night vision, and the answer is primarily to upgrade equipment that is less than 2 years old. Its expensive for what they offer and you can definitely get better.
Save your self the headache or headaches rather. More so than not the app with give error messages that can't be fixed if you are away from home. Well that the heck is the security system for if it only works when I am home.
I can go on and on about the bad. There is nothing good about this system. Go get a ring or something don't subject yourself to mediocre security that works sometimes. Oh and customer service is useless they will sit in the chat and not address you or your concern. Thanks Tonie M for nothing
Answer: No my car got broken into in my driveway and they said their systems were down during that time and were unable to retrieve footage.
