Have been on the phone for hours trying to cancel a trial I got talked into. Found out it was only my doors being monitored and said I didn't want the system at activation and they talked me into the trial. Now Harley won't text me back. Terrible company, terrible customer service. Use anyone else. Have used other security companies for many years and they were all better. Still on hold. Picture is of my third phone call that I'm still on hold on.

Completely bad

First time I have encountered such an inefficient company, first of all they lie to you about the operation of the equipment so that you buy the package, but the worst thing they did was try to steal my money, since they withdrew $2740 from an account of mine without my authority which resulted in the account being overdrawn affecting my credit history, be very careful with this company

Not worth it

If you enjoy paying for equipment and service that doesn't work then you will love this company. I was reluctant to sign a contract that stated I had to pay for the equipment no matter what but a friend told us how happy they were with Vivint so I rolled the dice on it. That is a gamble that did not pay off. We have had issues with our cameras since the day they were installed, for a year now and it has been well documented. Back and forth with customer service for a year only to have them tell me "we can send a technician to fix the issue for $99." Excuse me? Your equipment has never worked properly right out of the gate and not only am I paying for that equipment and service but I also get to pay for a technician to come out and fix it? It's unreal. Absolute garbage company and I would recommend NOT getting their service.

I've had three aborted service experiences ina row which despite repeated requests to have the reps call me 45 minutes call in advance of them arriving on site as I live 30 minutes away from the property. And I've had three no shows in a row. In each case they claim they went to the site and waited for me despite my having proof that they never came (their own cameras, and numerous texts and calls to the reps. I've got photo proof that they never called me or texted me after numerous numerous attempts. One of the reps claimed they did the work and marked the record as "job completed".

I've told them if this happens one more time, I will terminate the service and demand my money back. If they refuse, I will take them to small claims court with my proof.

I recommend you stay clear of this company.

Beware the 5 year contract
August 22, 2022

Part of my own job is explaining fine print. We thought we read all the fine print in before signing their contract, but missed where we were roped in for 5 years. It's been 1 year, we're economizing like everyone else right now and wanted to cancel the service. Their customer service rep we spoke to was not helpful, and was somewhat condescending.

Their sales staff should be required to explain the details. I'm in real estate. If I or a lender, had someone sign a contract without explaining the terms, I would lose my license. The same should go for any sales, including Vivent.

Concealing details through omission is dishonesty. I will never do business with them again.

I have had Vivint for several years and I keep telling myself I am going with someone else, but I continue staying. They have problems with contacts, you give them the correct contacts, and they will end up calling an old contact.
They are sometimes quite slow but most of the time they are pretty quick. I think some of their customer service reps are in foreign countries now because some are hard to understand.
Overall, they are a good company but expensive

Poor customer service - always reading from a script and NO follow through! Have constant problems with the panel and all the help you receive is from a script. They verify your phone number in case you're disconnected but never call back and good luck trying to ask for the same person you were speaking with for the last hour.

Vivint is Horrible

I was warned only afterwards how horrible this company is. Too late, I already signed contract. This is not for elderly people. They want a 64 year old to climb on a camera and troubleshoot problems. Camera never works. Horrible. Do not sign contract!

Avoid Vivint (Update!)

Where do I start? First off I WAY overpaid for a system that provided inconsistant coverage and playback ability of alarm videos. That was my fault for not doing more comparative shopping. I was getting better coverage with my simple ring cameras. The big kicker is when I sold my house and tried several times to transfer my account to the new home owners Vivint instead created a new account for them and I still had to pay of the $1400 balance of the three year contract. So Vivint was able to double dip on the same system! Their customer service farms you out to foreign call centers to very poor English speakers and they pass you around from one department to another until you get dropped or tired of waiting on them. I wasted $3k in equipment and $3k in service contract so trust me when I say go any other way but don't go vivint!

Update: After posting here and on several other sites Vivint sent my case for review and they refunded my $1400 payment. Squeaky wheels get the grease, I guess. At least they did the right thing in the end.

If you purchase equipment using the line of credit offered (Citizen's Bank/Merchant Finance), please know that this loan will not be forgiven in the event of your death. This loan will either be passed to your loved ones, or taken from your estate account prior to the end of probate. It has taken 4 weeks for my siblings and I to receive a final answer. In which during this time period, I was provided with confusing/false information and given the run around. The solution I was given was 'to sell your loved one's home at a higher price to compensate for the cost of the loan- Merchant's Finance.' - Be aware of what could happen. My mother passed away unexpectedly, and now my siblings and I are on the hook for the remainder of the loan balance.

We purchased this system, we were over sold and the monthly was higher than agreed. Then we sold our house and they won't let you cancel as of the closing date! You have to go through a ton of hoops and if you don't follow directions exactly, they won't cancel. When you finally get to the point if cancelling they then tell you it will take up to 30 days! It's beyond insane. They must be really bad because they are super desperate for money to pay the lawsuit!

I dont know where to start. I read all these others like mine. They lied about buyout money to other company. So now paying 2 alarm system companies. They tricked me into a 5 yr contract. I NEVER agreed to that and a 199.99 installation fee, total price is 800.00 higher when I got my bill, my cameras pick up only half the time. My doorbell has not rung since day 1 they hooked it up and they have scheduled service techs twice 4 hr window we had waited for a no show both times. One lie after another. I never had any issues with my other company. I feel like an idiot. How can this company continue to scam everyone like this. My equipment cost me 4000. 00 alone they sent a bill for

Then a monthly charge for service on top of that is separate. So you get 2 bills. Unless you pay cash for equipment

Truthfully everyone that comes on here to complain and cry probably has no patience to get things fixed. I have had Vivint for 18 years and had a hand full of issues but even though sometimes it took longer to figure out they always had a solution. Anyone who reads these and bases a decision off 200/2,000,000 should look up their favorite restaurants and go through all the 1 star reviews. Chances are you'll never wanna eat there again but that doesn't change the fact that you love it for your own reasons. Vivint has protected and saved my families lives more than I can count. Never felt more safe then after getting camera and security with them.

Trust me DONOT purchase from this company. If I had at least two days to write a review about my nightmare experience I would most definitely. They have horrible customer service. There equipment is a joke and when removed they leave damage to your home. Please don't be a fool. Go somewhere else

I can't count how many times they've taken payment without authorization, making out bank account bounce.
Also signing a contract with them is a lifelong commitment, because there is no contract renewal date available (when they say the contract ends)... from their standpoint we still owe them $5000 for equipment that was supposed to be free

When I signed the contract I was told if the equipment failed it would be replaced at no charge. My panel doesn't and vivint has changed there policy now it costs $100.00 for a technician to come out. Customer service being answered by phone in the Philippines

This company has the most disgusting business practices we have ever encountered. We have been unable to even access our account for 2 years… we were told an amount that remained on our equipment loan so we paid it in full… confirmed with Vivint… yet they continue to charge us $138 per month. I have spent HOURS on phone calls and chats speaking with liars that say one thing, then the next person tells us something different. The last rep told me I have a balance of $7.44 so I'm being charged $3.72/month. Is this a joke? If I paid off $2K do you think I'd leave that little amount to continue being charged $138/month? I don't even know where she pulled the $7.44 and $3.72 from. How could I? They have locked me out of my account and won't give me a straight answer or my account info. DO NOT even think about doing business with this company. Worst decision we've made.

DON'T GET VIVINT

I've had vivint for about 4 years now, and I've got to say, it has got to be the most unreliable system I could have ever imagined. The sales team is great at getting you to believe it's a perfect system but I assure you it's not. There's has been countless times the system has failed on me. The times I need my cameras the most they are offline. And no, nothing is wrong with my wifi, everything else that is on wifi give me little to no trouble at all. But there has been so many issues with my system I am just done with them!

Ive had other systems. ADT, xfinity and simplisafe. I would have saved alot of headache and been alot happier if i would have went with vivint earlier. Yes it is more expensive but 1000 times over worth it. The system can do things others cant. The cameras are absolutely incredible, the new spotlight feature is something out of a movie! The monitoring response is incredibly fast and the 2 way intercom on the panel was an excellent idea. The customer service is what ive been looking for. They've changed my security experience forever
