I had loaded 75 dollars on this card and used it twice. I went to a store to purchase something and the card declined. I thought maybe the merchant didn't accept the card. I later found out the card was deactivated with my funds on it. I was so embarrassed cause I couldn't purchase what I needed. Never buy from them. We got it from Gamestop in replace of an item. Since we did not use it in 24 hours. It gave them enough time to send it to one of their cash app accounts. When calling customer service,which I assume was the person who had the cash app, they removed it from the account and we recieved no refund. All a scam.
Purchased an e-gift card 12.21.2022, off Target.com, just because I had no issues in the past with smaller amounts. So decided to purchase a larger amount for a young single mother to help with Christmas expenses for her son, while she underwent treatment for cancer. Called Vanilla Visa Gift Card services at *******754, *******1376, & *******4873. Each rep spoken with was of course NOT of the US and answering from the comforts of their homes with rosters and screaming kids in the background. Talk about Red Flags!
Each rep spoken with since 12.23.2022 until 05.05.2023, has offered to do NOTHING but assure that an escalation claim is being filed and to return a call to follow up in 24-48 hours. Then they can NEVER get you over to the US nor get a resolution other than to advise that your case has been closed and state that, your replacement card has been issued and activated. Not one rep will admit that the Entire Vanilla Visa Brand is a SCAM and that ALL of their reps are deserving to remain in the pits of Hell for supporting such scam practices. God will not be merciful on this company and I have joined the Class Action Lawsuit to aid in putting this fraudulent gift card company OUT of Business! So, DON'T buy, support or contribute to this company by allowing your hard earned money to pay the salary of employees whose only job is to keep Vanilla from having to provide living working wages for their employees. IF you buy a Gift Card get it from your bank or VISA directly if it had Vanilla anywhere near it try Chocolate or Strawberry. Trust me on this 5 months later and I have yet to get resolution from Target nor Vanilla!
Received a visa vanilla gift card for my birthday, tried to make a purchase but website wouldn't accept it. Tried to use my card again and it had been put on hold, when I called to fix the problem they said the only way was to send the original purchase receipt of the gift card (it was a goft so i do not have it), a copy of my photo id and some other personal information that i was not comfortable with sending via mail. I was then told if i did not do all that theres nothing else they can do so my money will sit on the card until it expires then its theirs. They are money stealers! Never buy a visa vanilla gift card!
I can't believe they can lie like they do and have not gotten in trouble. Vanilla says you can use your gift card "anywhere a visa or mastercard are accepted" but it is a flat-out lie. It can't be used on most websites. You can't use it as a normal gift card, where the balance could be used towards a purchase and the rest could be put on a credit/debit card. Only a few websites will actually accept them. I can't find any gas pumps that will accept it (although Vanilla says it's possible?)
Basically, you will never be able to use the entire amount on the card. It's non-transferable, and all purchases must be under the amount on the card, sometimes at least 20% under the amount on the card.
Their customer support is REALLY slow. I had to wait on hold for 30 minutes. They can't provide a list of websites it can be used on. You just have to contact the website owner/seller before you try. Or try and get declined.

Do not buy one of these bought as a gift but when opened you needed to peel it off the packaging and then peel off the terms and conditions, doing this completely removed the last 4 digits of the card number rendering it useless. I bought an Amazon card instead £50 quid wasted.
I received 2 cards with $50 each. One worked fine, the other would not work at all. When I call the # on the back of card it says there is an issue with the card, same thing online. The card was still in the original packaging and unopened so no chance of it being hacked. I spent 45 minutes on hold and still no answer, poor or no customer service.

I bought this as a gift and the site said it would send within 5-7 days. Fine. Well the card did not get to the person in time. Come to find out it takes 20 days to get there. They should really update their website with more accurate info. I totally would not have ordered this crappy card.
I got a 50-dollar card as a gift for my birthday but when I tried to use it at Starbucks, I read the instructions and everything beforehand but it declined several times which was really embarrassing... so I went to the website and put in the numbers but it keeps saying system error, I went on 'down for everyone or just me' and it says the website is working fine, I quadruple checked and my numbers are right it just isn't working, I'm really disappointed and I wish the person who gave it to me would've just given me cash but oh well, just use venmo or something or give cash, useless website, probably a scam. If you can get it to work for you, you're welcome to have the money I think I'll just throw the card away.

Buggy automated messaging system… doesn't give complete instructions and often hangs up on you. Sometimes it will tell you to press pound, sometimes it won't, and it will state invalid entry. Hold times are also ludicrous. Also, stupid security questions like what is your year of birth? What the heck… it's a gift card. Why would I have ever given my date of birth? And, when e eye red, it states over and over that it is invalid. Worst experience ever. They should do it how Chase Visa does and stop being shady/scammy
Bought in february... card in package was defective... had to jump through some hoops but sent replacement card... on arrival was unable to activate replacement card... so another replacement card was sent... 3 months later still waiting and ticket issued to escalate... still do not have the 200 from the card... crooked company do not buy
I'll never buy this gift card or recommend anyone to buy it. We got married and received many gift cards. The only ones we had major issues was with these vanilla gift cards. Two times at the gas station only charged less than a dollar and then they got locked. Then all of a sudden a Paypal charged appeared that was not authorized debiting the balance on the balance amount. You try calling and nobody answers, customer service is non-existance. This is a scam do not purchase. This card was purchased at Walmart and they should ban their sale.

I bought a $250 card that didn't work. A month later still doesn't work. Called 3 times and was on hold for an hour each time because they have so many other customers going through the same problem! Unbelievable how hard it is to get a phone call or an email updating you. DO NOT BUY ONE OF THESE CARDS! Do not buy this card or you will cry tears for your money. I bought $250 from Walmart (I think they are in this together because Walmart doesn't accept returns, so they know about the fraud).
