The Worst

I got two Vanilla gift cards for my wedding gift and was unable to use either of them. I called to check the balance and when I tried to use it the funds were used. I called to dispute the charges and nothing has happened. Don't waste your money on this company for a gift.

DO NOT PURCHASE! I RECEIVED $200 GIFT CARD, AND I ONLY USED IT ONCE TO BUY A SMALL PURCHASE. AND THEN 10 DAYS I TRIED TO USE IT AND SAW THAT THERE WAS ONLY $3 LEFT AND USED THE FUNDS ON MICROSOFT AND XBOX. I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FILED A DISPUTE. WHEN I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE AGAIN TO ASK HOW THE INVESTIGATION WAS GOING THEY ASKED FOR MY CREDIT CARD NUMBER OR MY CHECKING ACCOUNT. I SAID NO AND HE KEPT SAYING THAT HE WOULD TRANSFER ME AND CHANGED HIS VOICE. HE SPOKE TERRIBLE ENGLISH. HE KEPT TRYING TO CONVINCE ME TO GIVE THE INFORMATION. THEN HE SAID I NEEDED TO PAY $3.99 TO GET THE MONEY BACK. TOTAL SCAM THE WHOLE COMPANY IS A SCAM. NOT ONLY DID THEY STEAL THE MONEY FROM THE CARD, THEY ALSO TRIED TO STEAL MY PERSONAL CARD INFORMATION.

This company has some of the most rude customer service I have ever seen, on top of being an outsourced call center from another country. I've been hung up abruptly on the phone from representatives and can hardly hear a word they are saying.

Their gift cards no longer work with PayPal or eBay. This is why I stick with buying Visa Virtual Accounts on Giftcards.com, because they have actually worked on PayPal and the cards arrive to recipients much more quick! Do NOT waste your God-forsaken hard earned money with this joke of a company!

My daughter received a Vanilla gift card of $50 for her birthday, in February 2023. When I tried to use the card in April, it declined with no additional information. I have been calling the phone number on the card to get assistance and every time I called, the wait time is about one hour, so lost patience. Finally, I was able to talk to someone on August 17, and they told me that:- "the card is locked and it needs a claim process and investigation to be unlocked. To file a claim, we need a copy of ID, receipt of purchase and copy of the gift card". The first issue here is, why do they need a copy of my ID? This is just a gift card. The second and the main one is the receipt requirement. I have a feeling that they know no one is giving you a receipt with the gift card and due to the current identity theft people may not be willing to send a copy of their ID, so the business is scamming people's hard-earned money. I do not believe this is a real business, but rather trying to fraud people and steal their identity.

Card is not accepted anywhere to begin with and service sucks when trying to deal with them. Had to have 3 cards sent to use the money on an original. Not worth the time or energy.

Terrible

I've bought a few times before I bought this morning and the third 4 digits was scratched off, the card was not damaged and this was obviously tampered with at the warehouse in order to steal funds later called customer service and was told they would look into it and it would take at least 60 days before a refund was considered would not recommend at all you're better off getting any other gift card ANY

Used this $50 GC for an online purchase of 4.95. Tried to check my account balance about 6 times on line. It always said there was an error. Finally called the number to check the balance and I had an $11.00 balance. I will never purchase this product. Very poor product and customer service.

$100 gift card from my wife's previous coworker.
We tried to activate the card and it was showing it already had nearly $18.00 in Microsoft charges from who knows? At the same time somehow it said the card number was invalid and we could not use the card until we contacted customer service.
We did contact them and let them know the issue. They wanted my name, date of birth, address and 45 to 90 days to investigate. I asked him if all my other account numbers and keys to my vehicles would help him as well? After hanging up with him I called back to activate the card and just use the rest of the funds. They would not do that as this a security risk and had to investigate. They then wanted all of my information again. "Sure, you sound pretty Legit, let me get that for you!"
I would not recommend this company to anybody. Do not buy their gift cards as it is definitely a scam. It's amazing that they are able to sell these in stores.

Well ya got vanilla gift then vanilla visa and a few others as well. The whole visa prepaid card was perfect. Why did they have to change anything or add anything? Why did they have to make it a vanilla gift card? This makes about as much sense as Mc. Ds stupid Mc. Double and the double cheese burger you know how many times I gave ordered a double CHEESE burger and got a Mc Double? That one piece of cheese is 40 cents I paid for. You bet your bottom dollar I went back in and got that piece of cheese I got a new sandwich every flipping time just like now I have to keep going back and oh wait a minute you can't trade the gift card in you have to buy a whole new card and waste you wasted $20 just because you didn't read if it says vanilla gift or vanilla Visa Visa you have just double cheeseburger your way out of my favor! I swear it's not rocket science but damn this is like brought up by somebody that is about as dumb as a box of rocks on a boat made of Swiss cheese!

Ok first of all I never really write reviews but this got me. You no longer can buy off Ebay and I called to find out what was up and she confirmed asked for a refund and they said 3 weeks for a paper check. Lmao so for that I am no longer buying these garbage azz cards. I haven't tried Amazon yet but I will no longer be buying these since Ebay was my main online store.

I got $200 prepaid card as birthday gift. Apparently, it wasn't activated properly. Vanilla took 30 days to investigate It's been 15 days since they told me new card is on the way. Nothing yet Stay away from purchasing this card or any other products by Peoples Trust Company Mickey Mouse business

Absolutely trash I bought one of their cards from my local Walmart and then activated it and had to wait for my funds to be available which was not too big of an issue but the real issue came from when I tried to use the card and it kept declining. It declined at stores, gas stations, online stores, I could not swipe it anywhere and it will not let me get a replacement card at all. To top it all of I signed up for an account on the website and then decided to download the app and now the app thinks that my account does not exist at all also it will not lot me reset the password or anything because I have not logged into the app before. So if you are ever thinking about getting someone a vanilla gift card. Don't. I wouldn't even use these cards to scrape the bird sh*t off my car never again will I purchase anything from this company and I implore you don't either.

Awful! Bought this to make online purchase. Couldn't activate. Kept getting message that "A system error has occurred. Please try again later." Called number, entered card number and told activated. Waited and waited for a live person to register my name/address so I could use it for online purchase. Got tired of waiting. Gave up. Used up card at supermaket, in person. Wasted the $5.95 fee. Got a card from another company, which worked great. Never again will I buy a Vanilla card.

Don't buy this card

The card was declined several times for a $75 purchase. The card had $100 dollars on it. I still couldn't use it because of the declined transaction pending. Finally spoke to customer service and was told it would take 8 days to fall off. I've never received such a horrible gift card. I would not purchase one from vanilla gift.

Really sorry website

I got a $100 gift card for my birthday and put it in a drawer. I then forgot about it and when I remembered it the card was expired. No problem. Just go to the website and order a replacement. Website absolutely refused to cooperate so I called and got an Indian who placed an order for a new card for me. He does get kudos for friendly and helpful service. Card came about 7 days later. I used it to do some shopping a week ago. Just went to website to check balance. Website says number is wrong. I used Chrome to log onto the site again. Got checkmarks for each entry. Hit SUBMIT and site goes comatose. I'll never give anyone a Vanilla card and I hope no one gives me one.

I received a Vanilla gift card as a bday gift. Several things wrong with the card when I tried to check the balance. 1.) no. On envelope and card are two different numbers, 2.) the security code on the back of the card scraped off, 3.) the receipt with the card had different amount than what was written on the envelope. I don't want to tell the person who gave me this card, that the funds are gone! Tried to go on their website, constant error messages.

Blocked my card saying I went to a bad site over and over repeating bad site bad site then said I need to prove j bought the card and it's mine or they can't replace it. It's a gift,,! I can't prove I bought it because I $#*!in didn't. Next rep says we'll what did you do on Google? It was blocked then. OMG Google wallet dumb $#*!. Ask for her boss because hour on the phone not one sensible human being with sense because it's a scam! They know half the people can't provide a receipt so they use it knowing damn well so they have to do is turn the card back on! She was telling me it was blocked for my protection blah blah blah fraud ECT. I laughed and said oh yeah Google the biggest fraud of all right?! Puts me on hold. Everytime the music would stop for a bit of time I'd read law or say things like oh it's a creeper on the phone lying just to listen to my voice or my breathing lol. Then suddenly she said I'm sorry I'm still having you in hold there are no supervisors available...hour and a half.yeah I muted...then finally says hello after you there are you there in know she heard me and ignored them hangs up. Yes I had said I know this is a game and there's no intention of passing my call on. You're liars and stealing my money. Can only imagine how many you do a day.
