As you can see from their reviews which I regret having not seen before booking my reservation with them, they will take your money, wait until the last minute and then cancel your reservation so they cannot otherwise accommodate anything and then keep your money even longer before getting you refunded... it is a total scam... please be very, very frightened!
What a mistake! The room was dirty with no TV service or, kitchen wear. To top it off you needed a wrist band to access the pool and ocean. We received one creating inconvenience issues for our party. VACASA the renting service just wants your money and totally disregarded any issues we had. A true case of paying for something you will not receive.
Will never rent from vacasa again, one problem after another, even locked out one day and took them 2 hours to call to get back through the gate! Supposed to have been $88.00@ night, after all their added charges it was $170.00@ night!
Signed up for a room at Aspen Mountain Lodge with Vacasa. Paid top dollar with room advertised on first floor. It was in a dingy basement next to the breakfast microwave and morning breakfast noise. Spent two hours on phone with Vacasa and Operations Supervisor was supposed to contact me within the hour. Never did call me; I guess he was to busy partying. I went through Booking.com and I suspect they give the worst rooms to any outside service. Avoid this Company at all costs!
I booked a vacation rental in North Carolina. Upon arrival learned that the hot tub was not working. After inquiry we learned that it had not been working for quite some time, yet we were not informed in advance of arrival.
I requested to be moved to another location since the hot tub is an amenity we look forward to in a vacation destination.
I requested to speak with the local manager who never called me back.
Unlike Airbnb, Vacasa's policies don't allow for relocating a dissappointed customer.
While they did offer a $200 credit to compensate, I'm still waiting for the credit to appear on my credit card two weeks later.

5 days ago I've send them a mail with subject "interested into booking" as we wanted to book a vacation rental but had some questions first. They did not answer even not after a reminder. So we simply will not book with them - not this time and never ever in future. I mean if they do reply to booking requests how would they treat you if you already booked and there is any problem?

Reveiws about their rental properties are filtered. I posted a review about how filthy "off the board" was and that cust serv would never call us back. It never posted, link to post review says I already posted. Pic of vacuum I used moments after check in. Had been empty when I started. Beware!

We pay this company nearly 35% on fees and have made them $X000's of dollars and the degrade the home owners. Site does not allow video updates, but I have them available if anyone wants verification.

If I could give less than one star I would. Our travel agent booked a rental property for my family in New Smyrna beach in November 2019. The border to the USA is closed and all flights have been cancelled. Our travel agent tells us Vacasa will not refund us the cost (~$3500). Is Vacasa a reputable company? There are hundreds of thousands of people affected by this situation that will be losing their jobs, including my wife. Do they have any conscious or care how their policy of not refunding is affecting thousands of others. I hope they have a great day with all the money they are stealing from thousands of customers. DO NOT book a rental property thru Vacasa.

I can write a book about my stay. Bugs/ roaches/ bed bugs/ pee stain, dirty towels/ bathroom, you name it. According to their senior specialist Molly "due to the nature of the island this is normal."
I don't even want to waste my time sharing my experience, all I can say is save yourself from this rental company. You been warn. If you see Vacasa just run the other way.

I live in Venice Florida and yesterday we were hit with the eye of hurricane Ian. Streets are flooded and impassable, trees down, damage inside and outside of my home, 2.5 million people without power. And yet when I called to ask for a refund for a coming stay, I was told no. How heartless. How mean. How horrible. How uncaring. What a terrible policy. What am I supposed to do? Grow wings and fly there?
They bought over our management firm and now levy ' other fees and charges' that they pocket. As it is we pay them 40 pct of our revenues, now it's more like 65 %. This is a strata, comprising several units, so difficult to just fire them without a protocol that takes a while. Engage at your own peril.

These people asked for half of the room charge on a hotel which we gave them. Then we find out we have no reservation because the reservation lady was supposed to ask for the full amount and didn't. They cancelled our reservation. Now no Bike Week in Myrtle Beach this year this late trying to book. Won't use Vacasa again.

We have issues with the local Tucson Vacasa team not responding to any of our requests for repair on the unit we are currently staying in. We are on day three of repeated requests and continue to get canned response from the help line that they are sending messages to the local team. I keep telling them the local team isn't responding. Today I can add dishwasher leaking all over kitchen floor and large nocturnal rodent somewhere in unit keeping us awake last night. I doubt they will respond to this since no heat in the unit and please bring more blankets for the last two days hasn't garnered a response either. Horrible rental management company.
I was a homeowner, and vacasa Made many promises for their exorbitant fee. They promised to take care of my property and to thoroughly check it after renters left for damages. Renters actually damaged my house and stole items and Vacasa never noticed or checked. I only found out after a month of renters had departed. They also charge a 500 monthly fee for maintenance that goes into a black hole. You are basically paying for nothing but online advertising. They will not protect your property. In addition, they will overcharge you for items so watch your bill.

Never book with this company. They told me I should have anticipated worst storm of the century. We booked in October for January travel. No way we could have predicted worst storm in a century and potential avalanches with 20 inches of snow and gusts up to 120 miles. This is not just any storm. Customer service is abysmal and lacking in human decency. Policy is dangerous and encourages people to risk their lives when they are losing thousands on a booking.
I have never experienced such poor conditions as I have this week. To begin, there are only two tvs in the unit and the one in the master has no sound. The furniture is horrible and was not used all week. The beds are horrible to sleep in. Found a cockroach in the master bath. The sliding door in living room sticks or off track.
I paid good money for this to be a nice vacation and instead it's been horrible.
I have no rating for this, unfortunately I must enter something for a rating, I'm totally disgusted. Will not rent from them again.
Requested that they ask the owner if they would allow an early check in, as the check-in is on
Christmas Day and they said "unfortunately we cannot ask the owner". Really lame customer

Booked this vacation home for 12/26/21 - 12/30/21 two months ahead and apparently, the owner is allowed to cancel the agreement whenever they feel like! They cancelled our rental agreement on 11/23/21 because they ‘forgot' to block it off for Christmas! Will never book with Vacasa again!

Would not recommend this company at all. Did not take care of proper cleaning, cancel guests on us without notice, costing us thousands in lost fees.
They did not take care of our property either, but I do not believe that was the fault of the staff, more likely corporate policy from our experience.
We gave our 90 day notice we were cancelling to list our place for sale and they decided to move guests 3 days before our busiest rental time and did not give us any notice.

Answer: It's a monster scam. Avoid at all costs. I've rented several properties that ended up going through Vacasa - despite my best efforts to avoid them. You can't find out that it's Vacasa until after they have your money. It's a criminal enterprise.
Answer: In my experience, construction is their "catch all" excuse for canceling. Follow up to verify that it was rented, but for higher fee.
Answer: I am not sure but for the renter (not the owners) the fees may be charged without full disclosure.
