I started on Upwork as freelancer a couple of month ago.
And found that the Upwork team sa very professional and the platform is also fantastic.
As they connects with Highly professional clients and Companies.
I will would like to invite my all colleague freelancer to come on this site.
Thanks
Upwork is a great company! I have been working here for many years and I am very happy! The Upwork team always protects my interests and is always ready to help! I am an artist and I found a lot of great clients on Upwork! Thank you! You are best!
I've been woth Upwork for almost 4 years now and I can say that it is the best online job platform I've tried so far. Great pay, good support and plenty varieties of line of work that you can choose from.
I received an email that my profile was set to private because I haven't landed any jobs yet. But almost all the jobs I can have requirements like 90% success rate et al, that I can't match because I haven't done prior work through upwork. Have you any idea how hard it is to land a job when everyone wants prior upwork experience? It's a catch22! And now they make my profile private unless I pay to upgrade because I haven't been able to get around that? What the hell? This is a scam!
I consider Upwork as the best freelancing platform among many. I am grateful that due to Upwork I could explored the vast kindom of freelancing. I met some amazing clients and learnt (and still learning) many things that a freelance should know. It's not all about good experiences because as a freelancer, one may come across some bad experiences as well. So, a freelancer, as a one-man army, must take every experience into account and plan their freelancing journey accordingly.
Thanks again Upwork!
Sudeep
Although, elance does have a lot of fake company profiles but it's still much much better than the type of clients/companies there are on odesk (now upwork)
Please don't shut down this site.
A lot freelancers are dependant on it.
Else we would have to move to upwork where some of the clients are so cheap that hire you at $1/hr which is some serious extortion!!!
I have been a successful freelancer on Elance with an impressive work history and rating and my profile was transferred to Upwork about two months back. I was delighted to get a brand new platform for my work expecting to raise my income and getting more quality jobs but never knew there were several surprises waiting for me. I applied for too many jobs but didn't receive a single project in a month. It's hilarious because it's always an easy cake for me to receive projects on Elance. There's really something WRONG with Upwork.
Upwork is a platform where freelancers can make their profiles and get work easily. The way that Upwork sets up a profile is phenomenal and clients can easily see the potential and the skill set of the freelancer. This makes is so easy for freelancers to find relevant work and for the clients to hire a relevant person for a job.
I would like to say that Upwork Team is doing an outstanding job!
I am a Top-rated Freelancer here on Upwork. If you are a skilled, hardworking, self-motivated person who can deliver his/her best to the clients then this is the right platform for you.
So I'm highly recommending Upwork to both Freelancers and Clients
Chat service is very poor. The information is repetitive and customer service is lacking. There is no live agent to solve your issues. So frustrating I am trying to file a dispute and their online instruction isn't clear.
I am editing the above to add the following.
I recently file a dispute with Upwork to get a refund from the Freelancer I was working work; they ruled in favor of him despite my proof. I am currently this case as the service I contracted for was /isn't delivered. You are better off with Thumbtuck if you are in USA as most of the freelancers on Uptown are in the middle east or India and the quality of service is tend to be poor. If something go wrong were you end up requiring mediation from Uptown, they will rule against you despite the facts you present. I made a mistake working through them despite a friend's warning. Fiverr is another bad one. They are all filled with scammers.
I had a skirt that I wanted a pattern for. Elance has pattern makers so I thought this is perfect.
Submitted a photo and got a reply and hired this guy who I will name later.in reading his resume it states in printable format, so I ask for PDF format. Maybe I do not know the ins and outs of pattern making but I knew what I wanted.so once it was finished he sent and I could not get it to print in any PDF. Tried for days, finally frustrated told him this is not what I paid for I needed to print it out. But evidently printing on a4 copy paper cost more money, now I'm mad.not willing to pay more.so he sent me the measurements and for about a week I tried to make the pattern by his measurements, only to finally get it sewed together and it was not right. Completely different skirt. Wasted my time and money here.do not buy from pattern maker unless you know the ins and outs of pattern making. Never again!
I've used Upwork for around 3-4 years now to make extra money on the side. For me, I also use it as a way to get paid to learn. I taught myself the basics of Python programming 4-5 years ago and then used Upwork to keep building those skills while making money. It took me a few years but I now have 1 reliable client who I do work for several times a year(and probably more to come) and I am able to reliably find other projects to work on. You have to be willing to do some hard work and get your profile built up with some good reviews. Do a project or two for cheap at first to build up the good ratings and work from there.
There is not any security at Elance, no control over freelancers. I was stolen 500$ by a scam freelancer. They use automatic PayPal payments, disappear in a few days and delete the profile. You can start a dispute but there's nothing to do. PayPal wil request a refund to Elance, the will reject it and they will tell you to dispute with the "disappeared" freelancer. DON'T work with this company, they should be shut down.
As a freelancing marketplace Upwork is the best. I am feeling glad for being a member of Upwork. Upwork is the biggest freelancing marketplace in the world. I believe the best thing about the platform as a freelancer is the safety net of having a third party secure the funds and payment from prospective clients. Also has easy process to get instant payment from clients. Upwork is providing various great opportunities. I really appreciate the support team of Upwork. I hope they will continue this great process in the future as well.
Many years ago I had used oDesk to find freelance website developers. I had some success and was general satisfied. Then Upwork purchased Odesk and it all changed. The biggest change was in the trustworthiness of their freelancers and the way they made it impossible to work with their freelancers to manage websites without risking getting ripped off by the freelancers. I finally did get ripped off by a freelance so bad I will never use them again. If anyone wants to know who the Upwork freelancer that scammed me was, feel free to contact me at *******805
Throughout my time on the site, I have had nothing but success. The platform brings together skilled workers such as myself and clients in order to facilitate business. It is quick and easy to get started, and if issues do arise, which is rare, Upwork's policies can get it sorted out. I have recommended people I know to get started on it.
The system is very poor, I worked with it for more than 3 months, concluded both a small contract and a long-term one. One fine day, I decided to work. It says to me that your account is blocked, I wrote to the tech support, for 26 days they decided how to send them the documents to me, I still sent them what they asked, all the documents were correct and valid, but the account was deleted without any reasons and explanations. So I do not advise you to work with them very system!
If you're looking for the best platform to showcase and take your freelancing talents to, Upwork is the place. I've only been in the platform for quite awhile but it really helped me find the best of the best in terms of client opportunities and experiences. I look forward to more years in Upwork and will definitely stick with the service they provide me and my client. Truly the best indeed.
Upwork is the best freelance platform. The experience with Upwork is far better than others. It connects me with various clients around the world who demand the services that I provide. I can easily manage my personal and professional life since it allows me to work from home.
Upwork gives me a chance to work on a wide variety of projects with an equally wide variety of clients. I think it's a great way to try out a number of gigs to find out what suits you best. Highly recommended…
Answer: They are horrible. Every freelancer I've gotten from Upwork has cost me more to fix the small job they have done. There's absolutely no customer service! I would stay away
Answer: This is not the place to inquire.
Answer: No, just 20% of your job when we talk about fixed price, and same for hourly but after some week it's been 10%
Answer: Go to Settings › Contact Info › Click the Close my account link. If you meet the requirements, click the button to confirm that you want to close your account.
Answer: I am a customer and have had a really horrible experience. Upwork claims a 100% guarantee before you pay anything. That is not true. The process is actually quite horrible. You put money in escrow. You only get your money back after a bad contract if the freelancer agrees to release the money. If the freelancer refuses, you get a bargain offer to still pay them something but still you are paying for a bad job you can't use. Then, if you refuse to bargain over a bad job, you are told that it will cost you an additional $389 to arbitrate with a 3rd party affiliate that the customer (me), the freelancer (scammer) and Upwork (ripoff enabler) has to pay. I took it all the way to arbitration with the end result being that Upwork decided that I was just too uninformed to know their policy and that they would give me a one time only refund of my original amount. What they didn't tell me what that they just gave me a "credit" of my original amount and that was the end. So I am still out the original amount and can't get my money back. This sight is a ripoff. Plain and simple.
Answer: Because of their policy changes which are geared towards the client rather than the freelancer. They have dug their own grave with their policy changes of late.
Answer: Go to Get Paid on PC or Mobile, you will see 3 dots in front of your payment method, tap to select edit/remove to change them. Go to Billing Method on PC under Billing Section and tap three dots to change (edit/remove). Thanks
Answer: Be part and see, dont look at the sold mine reviews people, upwork can bush you to reach.
Answer: I agree with Sam. This place is a scam. They have bad reviews everywhere. Katrina is probably working for them!
Upwork has a rating of 2.3 stars from 2,123 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Upwork most frequently mention customer service, credit card and job success. Upwork ranks 7th among Freelancing sites.
