Brought a phone from them that they stated as mint but not so phone was broken so back cover would not clip to it, also faulty battery swollen through age and to top it all locked out so all pretty useless really, still waiting on refund. I doubt if this phone was inspected at any length before distribution. Please don't buy phone from them you would be better off using a homing pigeon with a message on its leg to communicate with your mates.
I buy 3 phones, 1 malfunctions so I return it within 1 month of purchase. When asked what the malfunction is I show her the screen stuck on some BIOS or something while updating its firmware. The manager of the Tunbridge Wells store who was dealing with my case replies to me "You don't have to be so rude to me." Which I ignore and carry on with selecting the full cash return option and present a form of identifying myself. To which she replies "Sir, I can refuse you service if you keep talking that way." Which I ignore and after receiving my money back I have decided to never use CEX ever again after a long 10 years of buying from the same store, same way, year after year. Shame on you at cex for treating your customers so $#*!. Just lost a loyal customer, well done.
Have a voucher from one of their stores. Despite inputting the data correctly it refuses to accept the voucher. It is pointless attempting to contact their customer support: you will simply get a standard reply saying how too chase up an order; if it's something else `click here'. You guessed it the `click here doesn't work. Just like the button on submit the voucher.
Now faced with a long journey to one of their stores where the dvd box set I want is, so I can use the voucher. Needless to say will avoid in the future.
This is a joke. Poor customer service, rude and clueless staff. Bought an item from them, damaged and faulty. To return it I had to wait an hour for their test. Was send back saying they could not test it because it had a lock. What kind of tester is it who does not know to test run an iPad with a lock on it? And they refuse to refund saying guis was sold to me as it was. Who will buy a faulty iPad... Stay away... this people are just here to cheat you. Do not buy anything from them.
Once Cex have your money there is no way they will give it back on an item returned, they will only give a voucher. Bought an item as a gift & told 48 hours to return it if not correct model. Companies policy was never mentioned at time of sale, on returning the item was shown policy laminated to the counter top! Not clearly on show for customers to see before buying. Go on their on line shop & it shows that they buy below value, they will give cash but more in the form of a voucher that you can only use with them. This says that a voucher is worth less than the customer pays for an item when returned. I never want to shop at Cex again & am stuck with a receipt so called voucher that isn't worth what I paid. Manager young & quite rude, told me to sell the voucher, great advise to lose even more (as why should anyone buy a voucher for face value when they can buy the same item with cash)
As I said daylight robbery! Covered by so called company policy!
Ordered an iPhone c grade online and the fingerprint sensor did not work, returned it. Ordered another and the screen was coming away, a large chip out of the body and the battery completely discharged after one hour, returned it. Contacted cex customer care and Ramson said he would ensure the next order was if good quality. I reordered for a third time. Ramson sent me photos of the phone that was dispatched to me. It showed a very dirty and marked phone, in fact it looked disgusting. I emailed Ramson at customer care and he was extremely unhelpful. I am awaiting delivery with trepidation and expect to have to return this one too. Will not buy from CEX again.
It is not worth the risk of purchasing from this company. I received a damaged camera lens worth over 500. The company requested I return the item for investigation. They then returned it to me in an even more damaged condition and advised they would be honouring the warranty as their records show it was in working order when it was sent. I literally took this lens out the box and put it on my camera and it broken through no fault of my own. Do not risk buying from them. They cannot be trusted.
They sold me the collectors edition of breaking bad on Blu-ray which was £22 and send me the standard which was £15, they refused to refund the difference between the two and told me to send it back, but the post office is an hour away by car so would cost more than it's worth in fuel. They don't care how badly they treat their customers
The iMac computer i purchased from CEX was in good condition, but was expecting an Apple keyboard and mouse. I received a tatty black Dell keyboard and a 2004 Apple mouse (that was faulty). The image showed computer with Apple keyboard and mouse and in the description it mentioned the same. Now they have changed all their pictures to display just the computer. Customer service is shocking and just quote company policies. I've returned my purchase as not happy with my experience. Never buying from CEX again.
Have tried to like CEX but they are just incompetent.
Twice I have ordered an item and twice they've sent me the wrong item.
The first time, messing up a christmas present. The second time, just p****** me off.
The customer service team seemingly don't care, just reply with standard "yeah we're sorry, send it back"
Sending things back and then waiting again is just rubbish. It shouldn't happen.
Plus they don't follow their own advice. For example, they say to return the item with a note from me asking them to send the correct item (like I should even have to do that!?), so, I do it anyway, only to find out they blatantly ignore that and refund you.
You might think, you had a refund what's the problem? I still wanted the item. So I had to go through the rigmarole of ordering it again.
Which they then messed up as described above.
They're just incompetent. I partly blame myself for being a cheap skate and buying used. Lesson learnt. It's not worth the hassle.
So your not told when you purchase a mobile phone that if you want to return because its not suitable for the person you are buying it for that you will get less than half the price you paid 3 days later... Oh but you can have slightly more if you accept one of their own vouchers! Not told this when I paid £150 and no signage on display in shop.
Pretty much what the title says a few months back I bought seasons one and two of primeval and just got around to watching it now. Only when I opened season 2 it also had season one inside.
CEX staff are totally incompetent, it was only a few weeks ago as well that they shipped the same three seasons of One Tree Hill twice, charged me for both and had the cheek to say that I had ordered two of each season, when my account clearly showed that I had only bought one. I will never ever be buying anything from this company again be that in store or online.
Total imbeciles. Only gave one star as I had to if I could give zero stars I would
Phone sold to us with flat battery. When we started it up there was a slight fault on screen, which we did not object to, but the battery did not hold its power and screen touch facility was very poor responding, no matter how we tried to change settings. Wished we had check this web-site before the purchase. The shop claimed we had damaged the phone as they said they would not have sold it in that condition, and refused to refund or repair it.
Purchased a second hand mobile phone and checked with staff member I could get a cash refund if I returned it within 2 days. Took it back the next day to be told by different staff I could only get exchange voucher. Manager refused refund and referred me to on-line customer services even though it was their error.
Seems the rules are changeable! Beware their voucher system when you return DVDs bought from the shop - the voucher equates to the cost of the DVD if returned within 48 hours, ensuring you spend it in the shop. Fair enough, there will always be those times when you slip outside that time frame and receive a lot less. But do it too many times and the voucher system is withdrawn!
I 'sold' two HTC mobiles to CeX/WeBuy. One was returned to me broken. However the phone they returned was one I sent them. They promised to look into this but never did. And the other they never paid me for. I tried for 3 months to get the money or my phone back, I got nothing other than emails apologising and saying they were looking into it, or that a cheque was on the way, or the cheque must have been sent to the wrong address
So in sum, CeX/WeBuy stole two mobile phones from me. There are better companies out there. Good luck.
We bought a monitor and it developed a fault with the screen while under warranty and cex refused to fix it claiming it must of been damaged in store they claimed it must of been dropped yet now say it could be a number of things funny thing is they claimed they had checked it yet can not tell us exactly what is wrong with it so clearly hasn't been checked there just using the excuse its been damaged to avoid having to honor the warranty total rip off merchants
Honestly friendly staff but sometimes they can come off as rude, lazy and unprofessional. But the company self has its negative side. Where their prices are ridiculous expensive and over the top eBay prices which no one can afford.
Took £370 of mine for a graphics card, a week later it hasn't even been dispatched but they won't cancel my order or give me my money back either. Thank God I paid with PayPal, fingers crossed I'll get my money back, at this rate they're going to go out of business.
Very disappointing service. Bought the wrong item by mistake (10 pounds) from central Edinburgh, then went to another store near my house (Leith) to return it and buy the correct one. They said that they cannot accept the original item back as I don't have the receipt (fair enough so far) and that if I go to the original store they will return my money. So I bought what I wanted from Leith (another 30 pounds), went to the original store, only to find out that they can only issue a voucher for the store! And when I contacted the complaints department they tried to prove that at both points of sale they informed me about their "policy", which never happened! Like I am crazy, and even though they explained to me the policy, i decided to go up and down in the city of edinburgh and start making complaints about it! Awful customer service, worst attitude I ve ever faced in the UK, especially from a retailer that size
Answer: Go to resolver.co.uk and make a complaint against CeX, they will take it more seriously
Answer: B grade should mean operational but will have visible signs of use, I would avoid and buy on ebay probably get a nearly new one that hasn't been through the hands of muppits
Answer: Unlocked simply tells you whether or not a product is open to all networks or locked to a specific one. For example, if a product states EE/Virgin/3 then it will be locked to that specific network, if however it says unlocked or any network you are able to put any service provider into that product. The A and B seen in the product description is a way pf grading the phone and stating what condition it is considered to be in. A grade is the best grade possible for a phone/table/laptop/camera. This means that it should be immaculate and have all of its original accessories. B grade is considered used and may have some general wear and tear marks, which will not affect the usage pf the product. It may not have its original accessories but will come with anything that is required to allow use the product properly.
