I was sold a Spider Man: Miles Morales PS5 copy which didn't work at all because of multiple scratches on the back of the disc. I went back in to return it, and the guy told me that, because I don't have a receipt or any proof I bought it from them, they can't return it. But the best part? The guy who SOLD it to me was standing right next to him and didn't say a word.
Another time, I bought a Switch Lite and the left analog was extremely faulty, so I wanted to trade it in for a voucher or just return it. But then another worker butted in and told me I have to wait for 2-3 weeks for them to test it, and then I need to give them a chance to fix it, and only then would they "buy" the console off me; not refund me; buy it off me for a much smaller price.
Overall, product quality is extremely inconsistent and poor, staff only get involved when it benefits them and not the customer, and it's just a waste of time shopping here.
You want a console or a new game? Just buy it off eBay or Amazon. Yeah, it'll be a bit more expensive, but at least you're guaranteed a good-quality product.
I ordered an item on 19th October 2023. The item never arrived.
I was told that they needed to investigate with Royal mail. I have had no response and they still have my money. Its an absolute disgrace.
Avoid this company at all costs because if something goes wrong there is no accountability on their part. This is their issue to sort not mine, yet I am here £180 down and still no refund sight.
Bought my granddaughter a phone £285, iPhone 11. The guy serving kept holding the phone wouldn't let us take it and look at it. Kept holding the top and pointing to a little crack at the bottom.
When we got home my granddaughter was so busy getting apps downloaded etc, she never noticed a chip out of the top corner very small. The phone worked perfectly so we just left it till 1 month later it started to get really really hot and just kept shutting down. On inspection by my daughter we know that the battery is only 75%. It just feels like a total con paying that kind of money for a useless phone. I would bet money on the sales guy knowing it was a crap phone along with the chip at the top where he kept his thumb.
Appallingly bad company, inept staff and downright dishonest. The item I bought was supplied in the wrong colour, had to take to a store for a replacement. Then 8 months later it's faulty and doesn't work. I took it back to the store but they refused to repair, replace it or refund it.
I had a job interview today with Cex and it was half and hour away from me. This is my second retail job so I was lowkey nervous but prepared. Obviously as it's another place it took me a while to get used to the buses real time but even before this I was prepared. Then I came to the interview I was nervous like really nervous to the point where I had to pause and take a moment as I suffer with social anxiety so when it comes to situations like this it triggers me more. So after I've composed myself I went into the store as my interview was at 3pm and I was at the town for a good 20 mins I went into the store like 2 mins after as it was raining and the shop was lowkey a walk. I go in and there's this neek with glasses starting at me as I walk in cos the shop was empty. Then I go to the counter and tell them I have an interview. From the second I walked in I could tell the "manager" didn't like me she gave me a weird look and then cancelled my interview saying I was "3 mins late". Obviously I was upset because I travelled like an hour to get here just for me to be turned away cos I was 3 mins late and only just about…I would understand if I was 5 minutes late but 3 minutes is a joke I even tried to explain to her it's my first time coming here on my own and she's over here talking about other people turned up 15 mins early. I know if I did that they'd turn me away. Honestly I'm glad I didn't get interviewed the manager looked like and seemed like a $#*! and it looks like a bunch of anime neeks working there and it already stunk from the moment I walked in avoid cex!
I bought a PS1 from them, I sold it back to them a few months later, and they said they wouldn't buy it back off me because there was some discoloration if a scart lead, one half was silver and the other half gold. Despite me buying it off then, it was still working and under their warranty. So I just let it go and gave it to a charity shop for free. They were kind enough to buy the games back, at a fraction of the price they sold them for, naturally. When dealing with them, remember this, they can and will screw you, with any feeble excuse. Shady business.
After few good years of me as one of their loyal customers, i've decided that enough is enough, so i quit their services... Wrong items sent to me multiple times and problems with delivery. If this is how they send parcels, i don't want anything to do with this company!
* You're welcome CEX!
Research both the store you intend to go to and a general review of how many problems there are with honoring the 24 month warranty. I asked for an excellent condition unit that was up for sale, was told i could not have it at the end of the purchase and then offered a poor condition unit on the basis it had a 24 month warranty. Take it back to have it fixed / replaced as there is a software issue and i am told i've damaged it and there is nothing they can do. Take it up with customer services who basically will not accept any wrong doing from their staff. Avoid at all costs and take your hard earned money to somewhere reputable
Sold a faulty product on the basis it had a 24 month warranty onl
Would not onner voucher
Be awair went in shop to sell my mobile was told I was going to get a voucher for £85 went back to colect voucher 3 days later and now would not onner the £85 would only give me £66 this company are sharks scammers stay away
Bought a iPhone 14 pro from Wrexham store got it home and there is android software on it. Took it back won't give refund so now in hands of trading standards. Won't use this company again disgraceful
Went in to buy a dvd after been stood there for a good 10 minutes been ignored by the staff I wos then told I would have to wait for the manager to come back who had just gone to Wilkos to do his shopping at this point I walked out very very poor service
Right, I took an Oppo find n2 flip into store, in mint condition, and I mean mint condition. I said to the dappy looking sales guy, can it be graded before I trade it in, as there was £100 difference between A&B grades. After 10 minutes of him trying to find anything in the phone to knock it down to a B grade, he said give me a sec, and went to show his tester, who to be honest walks and talks, like he left NASA to work at cex, as there testing bit is behind the counter out of site, dappy came back 4 minutes later, saying there was a mark on the speaker, so it would be a B grade, I looked at what he was talking about, and there was a small bit of dust, where the case had been. I literally blew this off, and showed him again, but he said, as a mark was picked up in first inspection, it would still be an B grade. I said don't worry about it, and started to pack the phone back in the box, he muttered something under his breath, so I said. They would buy it as a B grade, then sell it as an A,
I will never enter a CEX store again, fully of idiots, who think there brain surgeons when it comes to electronics
Traded in a PlayStation 4 white console, boxed and complete with all content, was given a voucher trade in price which I was happy with, left it for testing, came back, and was told that I had been misquoted on the price, they then said that because part of the white colour on the console had faded this was why!,i was not very impressed or happy at all,I reluctantly took the voucher as I wanted to buy other items instore,I have exchanged many items with cex before but after this experience I will not use them again zand I advise others not to either!
My son who has autism saved his pocket money to buy a PSP, he was excited to get his new console from CEX a store he loves going in. Sadly the console did not work properly the on screen keyboard did not register certain keys, I thought it would be a simple case of returning the item for a refund or replacement, but no, we had to wait an hour for an "inspection" after which it was concluded the item was fine, on returning home it was evident it wasn't fine and we had been robbed for a second time.
It is beyond me how this store gets away with the nonsense that it does, it sells second hand non-working tat for more than a brand new item, they refuse people their consumer rights, and rip off disabled children, they really are lower than low.
If you want broken rubbish that you can't return then by all means buy from cex, but my advice would be avoid at all cost.
Bad shop business to deal with
Internal bias
Staff alowed to come from behind stall counter to instigate a fight with unsatisfied customer Polcys and procedures a joke
Read reviews leave feedback
Dont use this company in any way place is a joke and needs outside investigating sources esp.castleford shop.
I purchased a phone from Cex for over £400, within a month the screen stopped working, no cracks, always kept in a case and never dropped. I took it into the store, they admitted they couldn't find any cracks but couldn't be sure if the screen wasn't cracked. They told me to contact the website and they would take it in and look at it. Upon contacting the website, they firstly ignored me and told me to take it into the store, when I further explained, they contacted the store and the store told them I had smashed the phone. I took pictures of the clearly unmarked phone and sent it in, nothing else on the phone has stopped working, it still boots up but just doesn't display anything.
I went to Cex because they promise the 24 month warrenty, turns out it's just a scam.
Took in about 38 children's dvds of which 8 where new not opened. They offered me 33pence or £4.something voucher. My granddaughter who was with me was looking at some DVDs in the shop. Came back and said two of the same title we were giving them were selling for £2.00 eachTook them across the road to a charity shop. We had also over 60 various other dvds straight to charity. Would not recommend this shop at all
Yes I have very much enjoyed playing on the game of which was dispatched to me very Quickly buy yourselves and Yes I have had the game before hence why I wanted the game again too play on, as I do enjoy playing on management style games that Transport Tycoon is like.

Answer: Go to resolver.co.uk and make a complaint against CeX, they will take it more seriously
Answer: B grade should mean operational but will have visible signs of use, I would avoid and buy on ebay probably get a nearly new one that hasn't been through the hands of muppits
Answer: Unlocked simply tells you whether or not a product is open to all networks or locked to a specific one. For example, if a product states EE/Virgin/3 then it will be locked to that specific network, if however it says unlocked or any network you are able to put any service provider into that product. The A and B seen in the product description is a way pf grading the phone and stating what condition it is considered to be in. A grade is the best grade possible for a phone/table/laptop/camera. This means that it should be immaculate and have all of its original accessories. B grade is considered used and may have some general wear and tear marks, which will not affect the usage pf the product. It may not have its original accessories but will come with anything that is required to allow use the product properly.
