Zero Stars if I could
February 7, 2023

I cannot tell you how bad UHC dental is. Had a patient say they have UHC dental and then I have the portal and representatives telling me she doesn't. I was on hold for 30 minutes while a rep was supposed to be looking into it. I was put back into the automated system after waiting on hold and asked for a manager when the next rep answered. I sat on hold yet again while she searched for a manager and came back and said there wasn't one available. This shady company gives people the run around, denies claims that should be paid and to top it off doesn't pay nearly enough for procedures for those who participate in their network. DO NOT GET UHC they are terrible, take your money and pay nothing!

The "care" received while having Unitedhealthcare is a joke at best. They have a 3rd party making
all decisions about whether services rendered are "medically necessary" and covered or not. They try to deny everything! (Ex: the ER did an MRI because they thought I was having a stroke, Unitedhealthcare tried to deny covering this because they did not believe it was medically necessary and their 3rd party was really pushing to deny). The doctors that you actually want to go to are "out of network" and trying to find decent doctors within the network is a joke, their customer service will not help you either. The coverage is next to nothing, unless you've already gone broke covering the extremely high deductibles. They claim to offer telehealth and nurses on call, but the nurses can never answer any questions and their Telehealth just cancels your appointments without helping you. You definitely do not get quality care/service for what you will pay for with this company to "cover" you.

This scam of a Corp needs to rename themselves to United Denial-FU and your health!
They denied every single claim of mine...including "covered maintenance ".
They will bankrupt you, or try hard to do so.
DO NOT USE THESE SCAMMERS!
Doesn't even deserve a single star!

Bad customer service
September 25, 2023

Every time I call UCH to get information, I end up having to talk to a person who does not speak respectable English. I don't feel as if they understand what I'm asking and I sure as heck can't understand them. It's very irritating and frustrating!

33 radiation treatments, 9 chemotherapy treatments and here i am crying at Safeway because uhc won't pay. They refuse to pay for tube feeding food and decent supplements. Have throat cancer can't talk well and they just keep denying what the doctors subscribe. Terrible company. I signed up in 2014 for just part D, imagine my shock when i found the representative signed me up for everything. I asked for a copy of what i signed up for and the representative couldn't supply one. Just never had to use my medical until 2021 when i discovered that i had been hoodwinked.

Cancellation of services
December 16, 2021

I had 2 Polices, Thought when I canceled them, it was for both. To my surprise I did not or they didn't. But they won't refund my money even that it is clear I was canceling. Seems misleading in the possess they have. Of course I could write them and mail it to have it looked at further. Waste of time

Horrible experience
August 8, 2022

I paid 134.00 per month to supplement medicare. This company paid zero. By the time I caught it interest piled up and my health care costs in collections. I called to cancel my insurance and it was a nightmare. I had to go through 4 people no one could find my account. The 4th had me in tears she kept talking over me wouldnt cancel the insurance and was the worst customer service agent I have ever experieced she would do nothing I asked and kept talking. And one time I asked her to please stop talking I just wanted to cancel the insurance and wow she went on about something else. Never ever again with this company I paid for nothing

I called to find out if orthotic foot supports were covered. I was on the phone for 20 mins with someone that I couldn't even understand, she even ask me if orthotic was a machine. I asked to speak with someone that could speak English. I finally got someone, and he started asking me how to spell words, completely unbelievable. Horrible customer service.

They brought out surebridge and chesapeake insurance company. Google the above insurance company, they were fined for bad insurance practices, and not paying claims. So UHC has just combined themselves with crap. So like the old saying goes... when you hang out with crap does that mean your crap as well.

They denied claims when they sent me there. I've called them many times, see attached, I can't understand them, and all 6 people I've talked told me something.the 2nd denial was a hospital inpatient from last year, although I've not been in any hospital in 10 years. They're doing nothing. If they'd hire American we might be able to understand them., HORRIBLE INSURANCE COMPANY!

I've been unfortunate to have UHC coverage, if you can call it that, at my last three places if employment.
Their premiums and deductibles are ridiculously high and they don't actually seem to cover anything outright. I've been practically forced to be through the nose for: repairs to an improperly applied tooth cap; a knee injection to treat arthritis that might allow avoiding surgery, etc. They're quick to deny claims and their customer service unaccountable and the worst. Today I wasted countless hours, called their offices 5 times, spoke with circa 10 reps because even though I have new coverage and just received new cards, half of their team denied that I actually had coverage and told me to contact my HR. The other half of idiots confirmed that I actually had coverage but they didn't understand and couldn't explain why my new coverage wouldn't show up on their website when my former coverages all show there! They again, told me I had to contact my HR to fix their problem?!? Does everyone else agree that the average american is being fleeced by these crooks?! When illegal aliens can go to the hospital and get free treatment because they rest of us are paying for it?! The same goes for car insurance! Something has to be done. These crooks need oversight and control. I wish I could leave 0-stars...

Tired of applying for jobs with UHCG. They make it to difficult to get an opportunity with there organizations. UHC treat employees applying for a job as if no matter what your background, experience or looking for that opportunity is beneath there expectations. When they call for a interview you are interviiewed as if you are in the military. No wonder they have such large turnaround in staff and always hiring so many unhappy employees. I know people who has worked for UHG they felt as if they were micro managed and not appreciated for their work ethic quantity appears to be more important than quantity.

I attempted to file a dental claim last week and spent over an hour trying to get the website to cooperate. I called and was transferred 3x before they sent me to the correct person-dental. They also couldn't figure it out. I came back again today to try again and the staff person said "well the system is not cooperating again" I said "well, I think you need an IT person to help you with the system" He said, "that's just how computer systems are-sometimes they work and sometimes they don't" He started to preach to me about how I didn't realize this about computer systems. I told him "You need a new job as you don't even know how to reach out to someone who can help you" I hung up. This is the most inefficient, incompetent staff and the most faulty website ever." Stay Away! I will be securing a different insurance company. I will not deal with UHC any longer.

Received notice that the hospital I use, WakeMed and my HEART doctor, will no longer be part of United Healthcare. It seems they cannot come to a contract agreement. Why is this import to me? UHC's important factor here is their pocketbook, not what is important to the people whose life depend on these doctors. UHC feels they have the right to determine the necessity of my medical coverage. Granted they have doctors on their payroll, but are these the doctors who are face to face with the patients or know the total holistic view of the patients? Afraid not, they know what effects the company's bottom line, sounds like a doctorship, not the American way.

Paperwork
March 1, 2023

Every time I receive correspondence from AARP UHC I get 8 pieces of paper. I have asked over and over again to not receive any correspondence inthe mail from them. Every time I get something in the mail times 8 and 1 million received mail per customers is 8 million pieces of paper. Any of us that have kids should be outraged or extremely furious about the waste of our natural resources. I don't need to press 1 for English and I sure as hell don't need all the extra wasted pages explaining why I don't speak English

Over the counter site goes down and they expire your monthly benefits when UHC failed to provide the service They pretend to "escalate" but the issue never gets addressed. UHC may be commuting fraud in the way they intentionally disregard corporate failures.
