We monitor reviews for authenticity
We had an issue with a "Trustatrader" trader, who walked off the job, in breach of the contract.He left a job left incomplete, with open sewers, with a total disregard to health and safety matters, and also a balance of the deposit money. Spoke to "Trustatrader" who allege to vet all the clients and have a code of conduct. They promised to intervene and contact me, but never did. Also do not provide sufficient space to leave a meaningful review. They also do not publish negative reviews! Therefore does not give a true and fair view of the traders reviewed
I'm a nabour to this company doing work next door. Work & building brilliant friendly and very tidy & clean. I would have these people do work for me.
Local Drives and Landscapes have done the most amazing professional job laying Indian Stone which has transformed the garden completely. They have also restored my faith in trades people as they turned up exactly when they said they would. Lovely guys to have around too, they also tidied up before leaving! I can not recommend highly enough.
We used a TrustATrader listed company who turned out to be operating in a very dubious way. They came across as all nice and pleasant when dealing with them and also did an all right job, however they used very calculated tactics all aimed at extracting maximum profit of us. We saw through them and they then revealed their ugly side. I am fully convinced that there will be other customers who did not come to that insight, and to them these guys might look like almost saints deserving glowing five star ratings. Just to be aware!
The way TrustATrader deals with complaints (14 day hold to give the company a right to respond) means that you negative reviews rarely end up at the top of the review list. Positive feedback seems to be posted more or less the next day.
If a cowboy trader is clever at their deceits, then they might still end up looking good on the site. Compare prices and go with personal recommendations instead. Don't buy on the doorstep and pay upfront.
The work carried out, far exceeded my expectations from finding somebody on a site like TrustATrader, Really easy to use. Top marks
Overcharged. Work was so poor that I have had to pay someone else to do it properly. When I wrote a bad review the trader messaged me with a threat. When I passed this on to the site they agreed to remove my review. So I guess this explains why there are such good reviews. The site must agree with traders ripping off and making threats to users
The traders I found on the site were on time, polite and tidy. Very happy with our new doors. Would recommend to friends no problem.
Having all the reviews from past customers really helps make your decision in which trader to choose
We found an excellent gardening company to recently re do our garden and give some more outside space to enjoy the evenings outside, wouldn't hesitate in using trustatrader again
Really easy to find the tradespeople you need within your local area, loads of plumbers within 30 miles of my postcode

Alex M from trust a trader is commenting on all these negative reviews, I took Alex up on his offer to discuss the issue I had, but they brushed it off and have not got back to me, this is the third time they have ignored me after I bought a genuine concern to their attention about one of the traders on their site!

I used this site to find a local decorator. On the basis of all the positive reviews, the trader turned up for a quote and low and behold, failed to turn up on time...
So, despite all the positive reviews, I left a negative review, as I felt this was justified, given that there was limited time and the trader agreed to be there for the duration.
The review was removed from the site and a very angry, annoying woman continued to harrass me, calling every day for me to update my review.
Basically, the traders pay money for Trust a Trader to protect their reputation - despite being totally rubbish at their trade - this site treats lay people like idiiots and should be shut down or reported to the trading ombusdman as they don't want to recognise negative reviews.
This was a really bad experience and the "customer care" abuse I got from trust a trader - now to be renamed trusf a scammer, won't be used or recommended every again.
PLEASE AVOID THIS SITE - look in the yellow pages, get 3 quotes from different trades and you'll have much more luck.

I posted a genuine negative review but it has not appeared on the site and I have not been contacted per their review process. How can you "Trust" any of the Traders on the site if they don't post negative reviews? I won't be using them again.

This website takes the added stress of finding an honest, reliable workmen off as you can read real peoples reviews to make sure the work you need doing will always be done to the highest quality. I have used the website several times and would not dream of hiring a workmen without using it its saved me so much money and time could not recommend the website enough
