I believe in fair review. I had posted an earlier review that reflected true feedback and circumstances of my experience. It took a very long time to get up and running with various 'tests'. However once you have been approved as an Author this is fantastic. Complete as many or as little as you want to, when you want to, from where you want to! Only challenge is that there is not a constant flow of articles to complete. Support is very good also and always provides feedback that will allow your writing skills to develop.
I would not recommend any one to join this platform. The payment is bad, they give you time which you have to accomplish (that is alright) but they don not accomplish with their time to correct the texts so you loose texts during some months when you could have a bonus.
They are also very rude when you have a complaint or you ask something that they do not like.
Stay away and use your time wisely in more productively things.
They offer some really good opportunity for writing work. Most of their articles are really well paid although their standards are rather high. They have a good amount of work available as well.
The only thing that they still need to polish is the fact that there are still some dialogue boxes in German, even when you choose the English option.
I've written texts for this company for the past 3 months now and I'm very happy with them. Very professional and the editorial team is quite helpful. This is definitely the place where every freelance writer would want to call home.
Some months there no jobs at all
Takes time for it to be reviewed
Slow response
Bt cpp is good Though difficult to be assigned job
It's very frustrating at start level
I was pretty excited to join this platform as writing about travel is within my niche. But when I signed up I got accepted instantly but I was suspicious. The e-mails I received were poorly written and just looked sketchy. For instance, the E-mails kept on emphasising on "bonuses" where small percentages of your earnings are added on top which is based on good spelling, the numbers of articles you write ect. But this is to only entice applicants but I took it with a grain of salt.
I was pretty impressed as there was a lot of jobs on there that you can easily claim instantly unlike other content mills - BUT! There is a catch!
1) Task instructions are RIDICLOUSLY specific, poorly explained and take an immense amount of research. Travel writing is what I specialise in and the work was far too demanding. The instructions was PAGES long consisted of 15+ sections and character limits. I figured that this would have taken me DAYS to complete, not a few hours.
2) Tasks do not make word counts clear until you apply and have been assigned to them. E.g. It will say >700 words on the description but once you've accepted and opened the assignment it is 1700 words. This is exactly what happened to me and I closed the tab immediately as soon as I noticed how misleading this site is. They pay appears to be decent as "16.50 for >700 words" which is why they don't state the word count.
3) They pay 16.50 for 1700 words which works out less than 0.01 per word which is exploitative. The "Bonuses" make no difference as it only works out as a few extra more euros. You will get 20 at the most with no spelling mistakes or errors.
4) The writing task was essentially a specific, B2B writing task for a client which is a huge travel company that I cannot name. Furthermore, this TripsbyTips takes a HUGE cut of the money and gets writers to work for the cheap whilst writing at a professional standard for businesses.
The pay for this is far worse than content mills and low paying gigs on UpWork that pay $15 for 500 words (which is laughably around 3x more than what TripsByTips pay!).
It is simply not worth your time. Unless you have serious time on your hands and are happy with being paid less than content mills because tips is what you will be getting - they do actually only pay by tips after all so ironically the name suits the company LOL!
Finally - Writers, know your worth. If you want a side-gig or extra money there are better ways to do it. But as for making a living, this is only feasible if you niche down, become a digital marketing expert AND develop serious copy writing skills in a professional field.
Answer: You will be lucky if they do. They pay around 16-18 for 1700 words and less for shorter articles. So that will be roughly 3 which is exploitative, I asked for my account to be deleted once I signed up and realised this.
