I told them they need to quit smoking the pipe or drinking that liquor. They piss me off every time I call with a problem, acting stupid. I have broke 3 phones trying to fix a problem with them. One time I bought service for refill and never got my data, so I called them ( I had my neighbor hook me to her wifi so I could call them) asked to speak with a supervisor and she just kept putting me on hold never giving me my data I had just bought. I asked her how stupid is she, all she has to do was give me my data. This new phone of theirs had problems right out of the box, so I took it to Verizon that's the tower data comes through, the guy did a check on the phone and he said many weird things are wrong with this phone it wouldn't give him certain info other phones will give and he said it's a defective phone. And I bought data plan to get the phone going and I bought a hole month of data they only gave me 3 hour's of data and cut it off. I told them they are stealing my data, I'm crazy but not stupid. WARING STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY MADE MY BLOOD PRESSURE GO UP EVERY TIME I CALL AND THEY NEVER FIX A PROBLEM. TracFone u suck
I started my attempt to transfer my service from one TracFone to a new TracFone while keeping my same phone number this was to become a nine and one half hour trip to hell after listening to the usual press this press that I reached someone whose English was horrible and yet they managed so they claimed to transfer the number this first attempt took nearly 35 minutes 40 minutes I would say having what I thought was completed I used the cell phone I was able to make a phone call now I wanted to make sure that I can receive a phone call and that's where the trouble began 11 separate calls to their customer service line resulting in the same idiotic and unsuccessful attempts to fix a problem that they created namely they issued me a new phone number which I never asked for finally after 11 separate phone calls and always being told we have fixed the problem not only did they not fix it but now my phone was completely unusable and finally at 5 minutes to 10:00 at night after having started at 11:00 in the morning finally a young man figured out that there was a problem with the SIM card and he had to reprogram do I don't know what and finally after 10 hours I had my phone working the way it should have been from the beginning I will never ever buy another TracFone yes they added one year to my contract they added a thousand minutes but that didn't make up for having wasted in frustration and entire work day and then some customer service horrible stay away!
Yes, it is relatively cheap phone service and extremely cheap customer service! They just want to make a quick buck!
I was notified in mid-March 2022 that their network would no longer support a reliable good-working phone I had from them, as of February 22,2022. Thanks for the heads up. The phone was actually still working fine in mid-March.
I was told I was eligible for a free phone because of the changes. One customer svc. Rep was sure I could only have a flip phone. Two other reps. Told me I was eligible for a new smart phone and could transfer minutes. Typical bad Tracfone training. Anything the reps tell you has a 50% chance of being wrong. The brand I wanted sold out during one of those calls.
I opted for a different smart phone. That rep quickly took down my address. I asked her to repeat it. She was sure she had got it, which made no sense. She also said she could not repeat the address I had just given her, for "security reasons."
I have just learned that she put in the wrong apartment number. The person there is a concern. The package is supposedly on the way.
My data sometimes disappears at a much faster rate than it should. I understand that some of their phones/connections eat phone calls or cannot make calls at times due to network unavailability. Their phones can be defective, sometimes outrageously so. Some of this was better in the past.
Tracfone smart phones have no good data plans for a serious data user. Their plans top out at 8 GB for $40.00. Very non-competitive. Simple Mobile and Straight Talk, which they also own, had better plans at least on paper.
SUPERVISOR SCAM ALERT. When you ask to talk to a supervisor, you just end up getting put back into the queue for regular customer SVC which will not even be answered. This has happened to me three or four times now. It seems possible the reps don't even know about this.
EXECUTIVE ESCALATIONS SCAM ALERT?
In my experience, this office in Miami does not respond to communications. The voicemail for the head person is odd and sounds like it might not really take messages.
Had Tracfone since 2009 and always Happy. But. For now; finish. Paid for 3 Months with Pinzoo and I can not make Phone calls... Done with Tracfone!
They will lie to you and try to make you believe it is the truth. They really have no useful customer support.
I was trying to activate my wife's SIM card that's through Straight Talk Wireless. I bought my SIM card activation kit at Walmart for $37.68 all together. It came with two SIM cards and an activation PIN number that's worth $35 dollars.
I called in the first time at 5:18pm CST and got hung up on while on hold. Then I called in at 5:27pm CST and the lady on the phone yelled at me for using SIM card B that is apparently for AT&T and I was suppose to use Sim Card A. We got into it and then she hung up on me. Then after that I spoke to 9 other representatives on the phone and they all hung up midway through when trying to activate my wife's phone.
I was told conflicting information the entire time. A list of some of the things I was told.
- I can't use the SIM cards provided to me, I need to buy new ones again.
- My wife's IPhone 13 is not able to use a SIM card and they would need to use a ESIM.
- The SIM card has been activated and it should work in 30 minutes.
- We will give you a call back (Which Never Happened).
- Sim Card B is for AT&T and Sim Card A is Verizon.
The worst customer care ever. Don't care about the customer's what so ever. Will be switching carriers after today!
I activated new phone keeping old # and nothing carried over, cust. Support said they have no record of it.
Trac phone wireless in Pleasantville nj is the worst Bussiness i have ever been in do yourself a favor stay away from there
The website was defective, and the customer service was horrible! Used to be a good company but it sucks after covid!
Plan: $20/month prepaid Tracfone plan (unlimited talk, text with 1GB of data that can be rolled over from month to month without any restriction/limitation--the only reason I have stayed with Tracfone based on my usage at a given time period).
What happened: Tracfone took all my saved/rollover data away (about 30GB saved up over a long time so I can use it for GPS navigation across the U.S. and Canada on vacation). The reason given: "you have not used it yet, so we are taking it away"--contrary to the promises the company has made to customers--bait and switch deceptive practice, right? Not surprised that they are paying $40 million for a class action lawsuit on empty/hollow practices of unlimited data.
Attempts for a resolution: contacted Tracfone multiple times hoping to get it resolved--get all the data that I have paid for and saved up back, but to no avail. Tracfone staff and supervisors all gave my inquiries the complete disregard, some behaved rudely to say the least, I was always bounced around then hang up on. Time to switch to a different phone provider that is much more trustworthy.
WARNING: The keyword with Tracfone is data which they do not seem to have when they bait you for your money--Tracfone wants your money every month, the more the merrier, but the company uses bait and switch method to steal your promised data away after they pocketed your money. RED ALERT: sign up with Tracfone at your own risk!
Customer service: outsourced to foreign countries. Often times substandard, nonprofessional, and clueless, on top of that you may get nasty attitudes if you hope to get something resolved. Completely disappointed, not worth the money I have paid for, nor the time I have to put tons of aside to hope to get issues addressed. I am running for the hills, and already chosen a different provider.
Tracfone bothers for payment way before its due and I paid 2 days before its due then they canceled service and won't give a refund
Sorry about this review being kind of long but I wanted to explain to you about what's going I get the lifeline services the thousand minutes a month not the ACP I use that to watch my internet for my home so in April when they do enrolled me for no apparent reason because I didn't get no communications from them no text no mail nothing I called them up and that's what they told me I was the enrolled so I said okay what do I do they said will you have to re-enroll I said okay so if I re-enroll I get a new phone she said yes I said okay well that started a mess because then here I am waiting 3 weeks no phone 4 weeks no phone I ended up having to buy minutes which they didn't give me when I put my $20 on for the 2GB unlimited talk and text so I had to call them up about that now mind you using your minutes up you can't talk to customer service for free well she took care of part of the problem she gave me 2 gigabytes but no minutes or text so I ended up going with boost because boost had to plan that was in May for $10 with unlimited talk and text and 2 GB of data that's what their monthly plan is then the end of May I did get a phone from TracFone and I called them up to have the number transferred over and they couldn't transfer the number over that with that for 2 week 2 weeks so finally I called them up again they ended up looking at my account and finally I ended up getting my thousand minutes then I get an email from Verizon that my ACP was removed from my account so TracFone you suck
At least they must believe they don't need it, because the don't have it.
I wanted to get away from Tracfone and go to US Mobile (great service great reviews) Their website showed the wrong number for my account associated with my phone. When I tried to get the right number they said it was on the website dashboard. It was not. When I tried to get them to update the number so I could see it, they WOULD not. When I tried to get them to text or email it they wouldn't do that either. I've never seen a company that wouldn't give you your account number. You have to guess. Is it the imei of a phone you had years ago? The one you have now? The sim card they gave you? They won't tell you which one, you have to guess.
So I filed a BBB and FCC complaint. FCC being the best one to file a complaint with, of course, when their form asked for my account number I had to put 'they won't tell me'.
If I have to go to tin cans and a string or smoke signals, NEVER AGAIN.
I attempted again to get my account number after filing complaints. It turns out that within a 24 hour period, TRACFONE CHANGED IT. The one person they didn't tell was me. However, a US born agent, first language English anyway, helped me actually get my number. I won't go into detail as how it was done other than to say I had to be guided through a lengthy process, one I think could get her fired if they knew how she 'didn't tell me' the account number. I don't want her to lose her job, but she would be great working for US Mobile. 2 days ago my account number ended wiith 5915 (all I could get from TF) yet yesterday, the number she helped me get ended with 8583. It turns out that I had put the sim in the phone I was porting to for a few minutes and it set that phone IMEI as my new account number. I have no idea why TF does this. Every other provider sets your account number and you have no problems. I've gone to a much better service now, where customer service is simple fast and since they're so good, almost never needed.
My Name is Helena Holly from Amherst Massachusetts
I have been a TracFone customer since December 2021.I signed up for automatic refill for the second year of 2022.The fist year I didn't have any problem with service, but the second year when they refilled my phone I start to have problems with service from day one. Some time I can't make calls or receive calls, some time I can't text or received if I'm not around the Wi-Fi: I called the TracFone customer service they asked me to buy a new sim card and I did and they fixed the problems each time I called. But this time they didn't fix the problem and they left me with out service. This was august 6/2023 when I started to have this problem again. I can't make calls or received the calls. I called the TracFone customer service on Thursday August 10 and I talked with 11 staff from TracFone and each of them I had to explained everything over and over again. And each of them make me turned of the my phone remove the sim card from the phone and put back. After all none of them could return me the service. The last two staff I talked to said I did everting I supposed to do and I can't fix the problem,I will transfer you to the high technical support staff, when she transferred me they hung up the phone on me twice. Called again for the last time and I told then "if you can't provide me the service I already paid 12 month for I want to cancel the automatic refill and I want to my money back." The lady I talked to said I will transfer you to the reimbursement department because I did everything I supposed to do. When I talked to the lady from reimbursement department she said we can't reimburse you the money because it's passed 6 month. I told her I paid for 12 months of service and since you can't provide me service that is why I'm asking for my money back. She said sorry but I can't give you back the the money, and she hung up the phone on me.I stuck with having paid for the phone service, but I do not have any service with that company. I had to open an account with another phone service because I need my phone. I don't wish no one to go through what I did, that is why I write my experience with then.
I have never experienced such terrible customer service from any company as I have just experienced with TracFone. If you're listening Verizon, you had better improve this situation since you recently purchased TracFone.
My experience started on January 24,2023, as I needed to order a smartphone to replace the one (I had dropped it and the screen shattered) I was using. I might add that I have been a TracFone customer for years (since the TracFone website does not tell you the exact date you became a member). I ordered (Order Number: *******) a Samsung reconditioned phone, as I had luck with a previous reconditioned phone from TracFone. When it arrived, I immediately called TracFone Support so that I could transfer my phone number to the new phone. Well, the reconditioned phone would not boot up. The TracFone representative told me I needed to return it and that once they received the phone, they would issue a new one. Thus started my TracFone issue Tracking Numbers from hell.
After 27 telephone calls to TracFone, totaling approximately 230 minutes (that's 3.8 hours), over a period of starting from January 24,2023, till my purchase price was refunded and showed up on my credit card on April 12,2023 I was talking to TracFone customer service representatives that consistently could not understand what the issue was; would tell me that they cannot find my original order made on January 24th, and so on and so on. I was given 5 different TracFone Tracking numbers for solving this issue: Tracking Numbers: *******499-3 / *******499-4 (this TracFone representative told me that it should have been -4 and not -3) / *******666 / *******243 / *******279.
I will never recommend TracFone to anybody if they ask. I find it interesting that TracFone will take your money in a few minutes when purchasing a phone, but it takes almost 3 months, 27 telephone calls, and a waste of my time of almost 4 hours to get a refund. I have ordered many items online, and when an issue comes up, I am able to get a refund or exchange within 1-2 days. Doing business with TracFone is an exercise in futility and I will recommend to all my contacts and friends to NEVER do business with TracFone.
I've used Tracfone since 2011 and always loved it. Very easy to refill my service plans online; never took more than ten minutes to buy and add a plan. Now Verizon has acquired it, and like everything else Verizon, it's a mess.
Tonight I tried to refill my Tracfone with only a minute of airtime left, and have to hope I won't have car trouble tomorrow, because it was simply impossible. I spent several hours, including the time wasted trying to talk to US Bank on my Verizon Home Phone, which didn't convey the account numbers I keyed in, trying to make this simple renewal. Finally decided to add another credit card, and this was impossible too. It looked as if I had added it, but it didn't save, when I tried to confirm my order I got an error message, "Sorry, we cannot process your order at this time." Tried to login over and over, eventually had to complete Captchas (did this several times, correctly), and then it didn't accept the user name it had accepted before, and "Continue" was greyed out.
Hope I can upload this review, because my Verizon internet keeps going offline too.
Nothing Verizon ever seems to work properly, and now they have acquired Tracfone - something that DID work - and spoiled that too. Thanks a lot, Verizon.
Update, 5/8/22: I tried again to refill, and there is no reason on earth why it should not have worked. I got the same message again: "We cannot process your transaction at this time." The credit card is 100% correct, and so is everything else I've done to get this refilled. It gets up to the confirmation point, then gives the error message. That is pure Verizon. Tracfone was excellent before.
May 9: I've tried several times since writing the review, but am unable to even login. Today I tried the customer service number and was told the wait was more than 40 minutes. Decided to stick it out, but after about 10 minutes my Verizon Home Phone began to beep regularly. Hanging up and trying again does not help. All it does when I lift the receiver is beep.
May 9,5 PM: After spending 3 1/2 hours on the phone with Tracfone support, I GOT MY MINUTES! (I got the Home Phone working again by removing and replacing the battery.) The first representative was unable to get any of three credit cards to work. (Or so she said - Verizon is very crooked; see my other review.) The second representative needed only to use one credit card, put the airtime into my account, and eventually - this was not a quick process either - I got a text message that the airtime and service days had been added! And indeed they are on my phone. I told her she was a genius.
No idea why I had to try the website for five days and speak to reps from 1:30 to 5 PM to add airtime to a Tracfone. This was previously a very easy process. Maybe Verizon bought Tracfone to kill the competition. But I can tell you that, if you are very patient and persistent, and willing to talk to reps on the phone until you are almost too hoarse to speak, it can still be done.
Answer: Tracfone uses only the most feral and unskilled labor available in the Philippines for their customer service centers. I've encountered hundreds of these creatures and found only two helpful people. The rest just seem to be thinking about bananas all day English skills and intelligence are hard to find at Tracfone's customer care center, but the script reading skills (in broken English) are among the best in Asia.
Answer: Tracfone hires only the most feral and ignorant Filipinos to work their customer care center. I've been on the phone for dozens and dozens of hours with these mindless drones and have only found one or two people (out of hundreds) that were actually helpful. The ability to speak English clearly or have a glimmer of intelligence are NOT prerequisites for employment at Tracfone.
Answer: Yes, go to tracfone.com (or their app) and look for Add-ons under Buy Air Time. It is currently $5 for 1,000 texts. Great price! I just ordered one year of service for $49 and the1,000 texts for $5. Cant beat it.
Answer: If you have a tracphone cell phone, it's 1 hour of tracfone call time, and 90 days of service
TracFone has a rating of 1.1 stars from 362 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with TracFone most frequently mention customer service, new phone and sim card. TracFone ranks 92nd among Mobile Carriers sites.
