I got a writer at first who was not a good match, she actually removed my current role and past 3 years of relevant experience from my resume for unknown reasons. The second writer, Brandon, was awesome. He understood and took the time to craft a well reading, solid resume with all my experience included in a relevant, concise manner. We finally got the ATS result I was seeking and I feel confident in the resume being ready for use. Great job!

The second writer had never worked in tech and was a porno writer (we all know how bad that writing is). Total scam. Stay far away from TopResume.

Let me warn you all, I paid for a full service, Resume, LinkedIn and 48hr rush, I still haven't received my professional resume, no LinkedIn profile, and definitely not in 48hrs. I was robbed over $350. Do not ever let Hilda offer you anything. I will be telling everyone I know to stay away from Top Resume. That's a joke of a name and they aren't top of anything but the dump. There's a special place for liars and thieves. I have two open fraud cases against the thieves. Please do not use. You will regret. Very very bad service.

As a dissatisfied customer, I feel compelled to share my recent experience with TopResume. I engaged their services with high hopes of receiving a professional resume tailored to my needs. Unfortunately, what I received was far below even the most basic standards of quality.

Despite my attempts to address the issue, including discussions about assigning a new writer and offering refunds of 15% and 50%, the problem remains unresolved. No new writer was assigned, and the prolonged delay in resolving the matter has been utterly unacceptable.

What's more, the significant gaps between correspondence only reinforced my belief that the individual handling my case failed to understand the importance and urgency of the matter.

After careful consideration, I have requested a 50% refund, as previously offered, and have decided to terminate my account with TopResume. While I appreciate their attempts to rectify the situation, the extended delay and lack of a satisfactory resolution have left me with no other choice.

Overall, my experience with TopResume has been extremely disappointing. I urge others to consider these shortcomings before engaging in their services.

I paid TopResume for their "Premium" resume service. The entire experience has given off scam vibes.

Every step of the way they try to upsell you with additional services, both during the initial process and with endless follow-up emails.

The resume their writer provided for me (after a week of time) is utter garbage. It was not written by a professional or anyone that has so much as a single clue about my industry (software). They took phrases from my own LinkedIn profile, copy/pasted them into my resume, and bloated every single phrase with completely meaning drivel. Rather than highlighting my experience and achievements, they turned my resume into an incomprehensible, poorly formatted mess.

They introduced spelling mistakes. They made up things that I never did and presented these as hard facts. They introduced phrases that simply don't make sense.

I could not imagine a worse mess.

This company does not provide professional services, they are scammers. Avoid them at all costs!

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the services I received from your platform, specifically the resume writing service. My experience has been nothing short of frustrating and unprofessional.

I invested 179 CAD in the hope of receiving a high-quality, professionally crafted resume. Unfortunately, the document I received did not meet my expectations, and I promptly requested a revision. Initially, there was some communication from your team, and I was assured that my concerns would be addressed by my assigned writer, Paul.

However, the situation took a turn for the worse when Paul failed to provide the revised document, and all communication from Top Resume ceased. Despite my numerous attempts to reach out via email, I have not received a single response, leaving me with an unusable resume and no resolution in sight.

This lack of responsiveness and accountability is unacceptable and has left me feeling cheated and frustrated. As a paying customer, I expected a level of professionalism and commitment to customer satisfaction, which I regrettably did not experience.

I would appreciate it if someone from your team could promptly address this matter and provide a resolution. It is disheartening to feel ignored and left without any recourse for a service that I paid for in good faith.

If there are alternative channels or contacts I should be utilizing to resolve this issue, kindly provide them at your earliest convenience. I hope that my concerns will be taken seriously, and I can receive the service that I initially expected when choosing Top Resume.

The company, after acknowledging that it was delayed in providing a draft, offered a $50 dollar discount off the $699 price tag. I had asked for customer service to downgrade my service from the moment a writer was assigned on day 4 of my process. Support services finally contacts me on day 9 to let me know that since a draft has been completed, they can't downgrade my service. Makes no sense since I paid for an expedited 2-day service that took 6 days. Please save your money. They are selling a premium service they are not resourced to provide.

Do not use TopResume, they are worthless. They outsource the writing to another country making the vernacular different than the US standard. The result is that the resume they did for me is worthless. Because my first draft was garbage I scheduled the call to go over it with my "professional" writer only to have him miss the first scheduled call( apparently he didn't know the difference between AM and PM). Then he ignored everything I had mentioned on my phone call. My first draft was roughly 560 words, and i asked for more bullet points and less writing. My final draft is 1100 words! It also reads like a middle schooler trying to do a home work project.

Avoid this scam of a company. They outsource all of their writers, support teams, and services from different countries. They'll take your resume, throw it into a chatbot or some AI software, and call it a day—you'll end up with a generic, robotic, and essentially useless resume. I don't think I even spoke with a single person who lived in the US, which is an issue because if I'm recruiting for jobs in the US I think it is necessary for a writer who has experience in the US. This company just cares about its bottom line. Stay far far far away.

I've always been able to get jobs by writing my own resumes, but I thought getting it done by professionals would help my chances. I got zero response using the resume and cover letter they wrote for me. After a few weeks I rewrote what they did, and suddenly I started getting responses again. So the end result is that I paid them $250 to make my efforts for weeks useless.

I would recommend either writing your resume on your own or finding someone who will charge a reasonable amount to put a basic one together for you and then modify it to fit your needs. That's what I'll be doing in future.

Tip for consumers:
I felt kind of dumb for thinking that their guarantee was helpful. They don't offer your money back - they offer to rewrite your resume if you haven't gotten an interview in two months. But at that point, who's going to trust them to do it right the second time when they struck out so badly on the first?

They will send you your resume broke down into different paragraphs and you have to spend all the time updating the LinkedIn account. I paid for them to creat a LinkedIn account and basically got my resume cut up. Nothing more. And way less. Then they say, oh we can't create or have access to your account. So there you go, Fraud.

Capital One failed for me to refuse this charge.

STAY AWAY FROM TopResume, it is a total scam; don't waste your time and $$ on it. I bought the resume and LinkedIn profile "top" writer package with rush service. The writer, Jessica, did the 1st draft but did not know much about my field (Product Management). I suggested keeping some terms but asked her to polish them. The resume came back with the exact words I wrote in the email. It seems like she just copied whatever I said to finish the job. After a couple of rounds, I gave up and decided to wait for my LinkedIn Profile. I waited and waited until the last day, and she sent it over to me with an exact copy of my resume with only a slightly different format! Without even giving me time to respond, she closed the job. I also bought other services, but with such a lousy resume that I can't send it out without working with another writer further. I am still in dispute to get my $ back through, but it was tough.

Update on 1/2/2024
After numerous emails explaining the situation, their customer service rep refused my request for a refund:
1. I paid $75 for rush service, but they refused to refund me because the resume "was delivered in 7 days". Even though I repeatedly told them that the resume/LinkedIn is not considered complete since there are still pending requests from me for editing.
2. They refused to refund the add-on services of $150 including posting service. Based on the fact that the resumes were not good quality and I couldn't send them out. They did not care!
3. They said LinkedIn was supposed to be similar to Resume. If they consider a word-by-word copy of a resume as quality work for a LinkedIn profile, I would like to know if they have the expertise to write/edit resumes for others.

This place is garbage. The resume they produced was so poorly written and formatted, I was embarrassed to see my name on something so awful. Top Resumes trash products is only outdone by their trashier customer service. GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE!

This service created a completely useless document that I could not use in any way. Through MULITPLE back-and-forth communication, I explained to them what was critical to have in my resume, and yet they simply refused to include it! Then they rewrote most of my descriptions in the most non-human, AI-jumble way that absolutely made no sense as well as being obviously written by a machine. As they had no background experience in my career fields of journalism and education, they could not make logical decisions about what to include or how to describe it. I started with a decent resume and needed only some tweaking and what they did was create a completely nonsensical and illiterate resume. As someone apply for jobs in English and literature, I cannot afford to have typos and misspellings and yet everything they added was RIFE was these kind of mistakes. I requested a full refund and was denied. They did not even offer a partial refund and I was told that they had spent the "allotted amount of time" on my resume and could not offer any more services, even though all the time they spent on it resulted in drafts that DID NOT MEET ANY OF MY REQUESTS FOR REVISIONS. They just came back with the same or a worse version each time. I invested an incredible amount of time in filling out their forms and asking for revisions and did not get one single improvement I could use. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Top Resume is unprofessional company and it is a complete waste of money to hire them. I paid over 300 plus dollars to get a professional and completed resume in a timely manner. I was given so much attitude when I inquire about the resume and the different font style and the format. I requested to speak to a Supervisor on numerous occasions, which then yelled at me and argued with me about how I had a problem with the work that was being submitted. Please Please do not waste your time with this company and their services as the resumes and products produced is that of a high school student and not a professional.

After paying, I was asked to input about 10 different questions about my work history including the achievements for each position. I received a resume the next day that listed all of the information I provided WORD FOR WORD. No deviation from what I wrote. When I complained via email internal texting with my supposed resume writer, I got generic responses back that didn't acknowledge that I was unhappy with the work that was done. When I asked for a refund and told the resume writer that I was completely unsatisfied I got a response that said: "I just wanted to reach out and let you know I have enjoyed helping you to take the next step in your career. Your order is now closed but I believe that you now have documents that emphasize your professional strengths and are calibrated to work well with digital hiring systems. The documents I have provided are fully editable, so please feel free to make adjustments as you see fit."

Tis service is a complete AI generated scam and should be reported to the Attorney General. I will be doing just that...

I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I received from TopResume. I hired your company on March 20,2024, for an academic CV and LinkedIn profile optimization. Despite the promises made on your website and the additional cost I incurred for the LinkedIn feature, my experience has been far from satisfactory.

The initial timeline provided for my document draft was March 24, which was later extended to March 27 due to the added LinkedIn service. However, I had to reach out on March 30 to inquire about the status of my draft, which was finally provided on March 31. As expected with any draft, there were inaccuracies and missing information. I diligently followed the instructions, asked questions, and provided feedback to my writer on multiple occasions (April 2,3, and 7).

To my surprise and frustration, my case was closed without consultation on April 7 for the CV and April 10 for the LinkedIn services, despite the fact that the documents still contained errors and lacked vital information. I reached out to customer service via phone and email, expressing my desire for a refund and a change of writer, but my requests were ignored.

On April 16, my writer unexpectedly provided updated documents, which, while improved, still did not meet my expectations or include crucial information I had been communicating for weeks. When I escalated my complaint, I was told to work with another writer, which I found to be a non-standard practice at this stage.

I hired another service out of frustration and requested a refund from TopResume on four separate occasions over a two-week period. I was informed that I would receive a refund for the LinkedIn service but not for the CV. It is unacceptable that TopResume only provided "professional" documents after multiple refund requests and complaints.

Furthermore, when I attempted to dispute the claim that I had not communicated effectively with my writer, I was told that there was no evidence of my calls or emails to the customer service representatives, despite me providing specific dates and times. This lack of accountability and disregard for my concerns is deeply troubling.

I firmly believe that TopResume has engaged in deceptive and predatory practices, violating my rights as a customer. The services I received did not align with what was advertised or promised, and my case was closed with erroneous documents. The fact that I had to repeatedly call and email to receive updates, only to be provided with unsatisfactory results, is unacceptable.

I am extremely disappointed with the way TopResume has handled this situation and will not hesitate to share my negative experience with others. I strongly urge you to reevaluate your practices, prioritize customer satisfaction, and provide the services as advertised. I demanded a full refund for the subpar service I received and the emotional distress this experience has caused me. Yet they uphold providing "professional quality documents and service."

Late delivery of product, runaround customer care reps, and North Korean level communications, When I informed them by email that they were unacceptable late with my materials and that I wanted a full refund, I received no response, So I called their number, and was dumped into a voicemailbox with a promise to receive a return call "within two hours." After five attempts, no phone call.
So, I looked up one of their top reps, Amanda, on Linkedin, She was cordial, and passed me off to another woman named Amanda. Here is the email Amanda2# sent me: ----------Hi Peter,

Thanks so much for reaching out as well as for allowing us the opportunity to collaborate with you on this project.

After further review our internal team has advised that we are able to offer a 50% refund on the package purchased and a full refund on the phone call purchased if you no longer wish to continue.

In order to finish your project, and provide you with a completed document as purchased, we ask that you allow us to rematch you with a more tenured writer instead of a partial refund. They will have access to all documents you provided us regarding this project as reference - along with all other correspondence. I understand that you've declined this offer previously. We're confident that by collaborating with another writer, we can provide you with a completed professional document in line with expectations.

We are deeply sorry for any inconvenience, and we hope that you still have the confidence in us to trust us with your rewrite.

I've just received an email stating that I will be offered a 50% refund, not the full refund that I have demanded. Also, that I will be "assigned to a more tenured writer".

-The time to assign me to a "more tenured writer" was when I contracted for my order to be delivered on time-and not-late- when I made my payment to you.

-As I've repeatedly stated, I had a specific target date and needed delivery of my materials on the 28th. They were not delivered on time.

-I made five attempts to reach your company by phone. I was promised a call-back via voicemail "within 2 hours". I never received a callback.

-It took me reaching out to one of your representatives on Linkedin to finally reach someone to get a callback.

Reviews looked ok so I spent $200 on a new resume. Their site has an autogenerating feature to set dates for 1.) Writer Assignment 2.) First Draft 3.) Next steps etc. In ALL cases the actual engagement was LATE. Then I start receiving messages from them stating "Sometimes these things happen and we get overloaded". Then, " We haven't forgotten about you!". Oh and my favorite." just wanted to let you know that I have your email and will get back to you within the next business day". Please note that all of these were in response to my e-mails stating "WHERE ARE YOU?"... "YOU ARE LATE AGAIN AGAINST TIMELINES THAT YOU SET. The Final One that I received, after a commitment to deliver in 24 hours was this one "Hi,Thank you for your message(s). Your writer is out of the office and will be back to work on your revisions on April 10. In such a case, your deadline will be extended by a few additional days so you have everything you need from your writer! Best, Alex. SUCH B.S. Please know that I am working to obtain a refund for "NOT Rendering Services". STAY AWAY.

I was initially excited to work with Top Resume to revamp my current resume and LinkedIn profile - however in practice it was a thoroughly disappointing and frustrating experience. I spent an excessive amount of time correcting typos, grammar errors and weird/odd sentence structures that just didn't make sense, while trying to help their writer(s) write the documents such that they didn't sound like they were written by someone that has zero understanding of my field and areas of expertise...before Top Resume's 7 day "time limit" ran out. I would have saved a LOT of time by doing it myself because I now have a set of abysmally written documents compared to the ones I started with. I have no intention of actually using these documents as they would, in fact, be detrimental to my future job searches and career. This service is probably acceptable for an entry-level employee at the start of their career looking to fluff up their resume with a few random buzzwords so they can make it through an initial resume-screening process. Unfortunately, it is extremely poor for anyone currently in, or looking for, a seasoned executive-level leadership role. Save yourself the frustration, time and money and do it yourself, or pay more for a more professional and experienced service. Your career is much too important.

This has been a really bad experience. I had to work according to imposed schedule that was completely inconvenient to my busy schedule. The draft versions were not up to my expectations and I was not given enough time to discuss changes. I was also not given useful tips or recommendations to make sure the final version actually meets my objectives. The writer always seemed to be in a hurry, providing quick responses that seemed only to have one objective: Just get the order closed.

I have opted for the most expensive option but I did not have time or proper discussions required for cover letter, resume, or LinkedIn profile. I believe the time given should be convenient to the client not to the writer. The end result in my opinion is subpar and I would not recommend Topresume to anyone.

This service was a complete waste of time and money. If you are unemployed do not waste your money on this. The writer did not even get the location correct for a job on my resume on the final draft that I was sent. They are not great to work with and do not take your opinions into consideration.

This service was recommended by someone who used several years ago. I needed an update and decided to use as my time was limited. I was pleased with initial response and time frame 7 days. I was not pleased with the result. Despite several attempts and a new writer assigned, the quality of what I received as well as the format was far below my expectations and standards. I felt like a teacher correcting a student assignment. Initially I was going to have them update my LinkedIn as well, but a big NO on that. They also refused to credit me for LinkedIn revision for which no work had been done. Since they did attempt the resume and put time in, I did not push for a refund for the poor resume, but I will dump it, not worth sending out.
